**OOC: I'd like to cast Suggestion on the Eel, assuming I can do that with my ability to speak to animals? Its a DC14 wis save**
(Communicating in the private thread about this)
Perspicacious, you seethe at the voice, but it's gone. As you speed ever upwards...
Amaruve, there is a boulder directly in your path. It's about the size of a parking garage (in our world) and far too large to push aside with a gust of wind. Perspicacious was dominated about thirty seconds ago, and you'll hit the boulder in about 15 more... You need to do something quickly.
Jean, the eel is not quite within line of sight, and you therefore can't use your harpoon to attack it. Tony, the eels is too far away to hit, but it's streaming alongside the three of you (four, including Duncan), and it is preparing to strike.
Kyo is not yet in the clouds and cannot see your predicament... You also need to do something quickly!

Amaruve grabs his coil and a field of energy draws in dust and sand from the air forming a 30 foot long 10 foot column Wall of Sand in their path. Draining 6 from his energy.

(Thought you might try that :) )
Amaruve, the wall of sand works perfectly. Caspian slows and slows as Perspiacious forces it against the deluge of silicate...
...And then you hear a KA-CHUNK! as something in Caspian breaks. No time to think about what it could have been, but the sand gummed up something really important really well. The steam skipper goes dark as it begins a free fall among the falling pillar of beige sand.
Perspicacious, it's at this exact moment that you regain control over your body!

Perspicacious startles awake and yells briefly before her instincts kick in and she tries to right the ship. "I'm back! Hold on, time to pull this thing around!" She grabs the control stick and tries to swing the ship around towards the rest of the action. Nothing happens. She looks down at the controls and sees all the dials and nodes darkened. That's when her senses catch up with her, and she feels the falling sensation, the vertigo, and what seems to be slight bruising on her left arm. The tiefling tries not to panic and starts frantically looking for an eject button, or an enging restart button. Anything that might save them from crashing down to ground below.. if there even was anything below them. Isn't this the plane of Air? Would they fall forever? Better not to find out.
Kyo steers the ship downwards using his flying boulders, which is a bit more difficult now without Tony guiding him. He continues down into the clouds until he can get a better view of where his companions have gone.
As the ship continues to fall Amaruve starts to panic. Trapped in a machine. That won't do. He reaches out and opens the cockpit and climbs out.
The air rushing by. Floating boulders sailing past. He could feel the wind. He felt calm, and free. He grips onto Duncan's arms as a pair of boulders rushes toward them...
Amaruve Wildshapes into a Giant Spider-Bear and tries to catch Duncan between the stones with his Web, hitting 17 (adv. for Duncan being unconscious) The target is restrained by webbing.

Perception: 11
You have no way of knowing whether there's a world under all of this air, but it's fair to assume that you'll crash into a floating island sooner than later. Here's the scary thing: Taesn's memories are starting to fade. Not just for you, Perspicacious, but for everybody. It seems that Fiorello's trick was not a permanent one. (You won't suffer any negative mechanics effects just yet, but your control of the ships requires more thought than instinct, now).
You recall that the wings can be manually cranked into an extended "glider" position for just such an emergency, but whatever power steering exists in the vessel will be off! I need a STR check to get the wings out and muscle the craft into submisson, Perspicacious (your maneuvers roll from earlier will apply in the case of success or failure!)
... She steers Duncan directly toward the monster and attempts to spring board off of it to regain altitude as she opens the throttle. (Maneuvers: 27)
(Was this effective?)
It was absolutely effective. Cordelia regains control of her body and rams the eel. You do have a suction cup garfield cat in the form of Lil' Big Tony, but he manages to maintain his hold as you deal 17 bludgeoning damage. The eel roars and spins to chase you. In the back of your mind, you remember (thanks to Taesn) that these creatures dwell within storm clouds. It shouldn't chase you out into the open, but it's definitely after you now. It's fangs crackle with electricity as it readies another electric jolt.

"Uh... uh...wings!" Perspicacious's momentary panic subsides slightly as she remembers the ship has wings. She begins frantically looking for the crank, finally finding it to the right, below the control panel. She pulls with as much might as she can muster. "Aghghgh. I should have utilized the gym at the tower more often..."

(Whoops, missed this)
Duncan is definitely slowed, but it's too heavy to be stopped completely. There is a free fall below you, but there is a huge island wrapped in storm clouds directly ahead of you. The mechanics of the ship will allow for gliding, and the speaking stone is still functional.

Strength Check: 16
Nice! Perspicacious, you manage extend Caspian's wings. He lets out a tinny whistle; pained, but still with you. Your maneuvers roll from earlier mean you manage to steady the skipper and angle him wherever you'd like to go.
On the speaking stone, you hear occasional shouts, including Jean's clear command. You see no sign of your companions, but Taesn and Fiorello have almost caught up to you in Ariel.
I want to angle and head towards the hornet, if I can, or out of the boulders if not.
The hornet and its occupant disappeared through a portal just after he dominated you. The only major land mass you can see is a large something wreathed in storm clouds just on the outer edge of safe gliding distance. Your companions are also nowhere to be seen.
Taesn's voice comes through the speaking stone, "Perspicacious! Monkey! Are you two alright? What happened to Caspian? Why the hell did you all scatter?!"
As the webs rip away and the wings open into a glide Amaruve enjoys the wind against his carapace. He pokes his head in the cockpit and gives Prespicacious what he imagines to be a puzzled look in responce to being referred to as "Monkey".
Flying. He could get used to this. He'll have to work on that.

"Taesn! We don't have time to wonder about why. Focus on what now! I've got Caspian on manual flight, but I think we need to land. Can you get everyone to that large land mass at the edge of the boulders? We can regroup there, and maybe try not to split the party..."
Maneuvers: 24 to try and get myself and spider bear all the way to the scary looking storm wreathed something.

Maneuvers: 8 to try and get myself and spider bear all the way to the scary looking storm coming wreathed something.
Edit: Oh... oh dear.
(Nah, your good good maneuvers roll from earlier will carry you to the storm barrier.)
You actually notice a couple of long thin strips of floating rock surrounding the massive thing as you draw nearer. You might just have a chance to get there in one piece after all.
Taesn replies, "holy crap! Perspicacious! There's a spider-oh. That's the monkey bear, isn't it? Alright, if you can manage the manual glider, I'll try to grab the others. Let's just hope the eels aren't hungry today..."
Fiorello chimes in. "Do hurry. The effects of my skill fascimile will wear off soon."
Amaruve growls and tugs for 3 damage.
