Tony gets out of the ship, “Did you see that! I knew I was good, but who could’ve guessed I was that good!” Tony watches perimeter, Perception: 19!
Fiorello holds his hands over Jean as he brings her back from the edge. He doesn't look away from her as he responds, "Strictly speaking, Mr. Lil' Big, it is Taesn who is that good."
His job with the fighter done, he summons a large tome from the aether. Peering into it for a moment, he mutters, "Another new one for me..." He then whispers an incantation and spreads his wing/arms wide as though welcoming a friend. All of you feel a presence enter the landing site as the faintly shining outline of a healing spiritappears. "No one stray too far for a moment," the aarakocra says, obviously straining to maintain his concentration. Over the course of the next minute, you all are healed for 39 health.
Tony, with your perception roll, you see the clouds move away from the landing site before the others. And what you see is... Incredible. You've witnessed a number of beautiful sites in this plane of existence, but nothing prepared you for the quiet, gentle majesty of this place.
You see the ruins of a once glorious and technologically advanced castle. There is no clear pathway leading from your position to anything like an entrance, however...
Perspicacious, you discover a small chunk of crystal lying on the ground. Touching it causes it to glow dimly, and that glow begins to issue from a path lined by similar chunks of rock lain in a sweeping line up to what you can now see is a large archway at the base of the outer wall of the castle.
(Your goal seems pretty straightforward: The children are likely somewhere in there. You have an enemy that is known to two of you. Perspicacious, do you warn the others of the threat before you enter?)
Amaruve softens to flesh and looks around quickly, taking count of the members of the party coming to ground. He seems completely unharmed. (Perception: 17)
Prespicacious, Cordelia, Kyo, Tony, Fiorello... Jean is hurt, but Fiorello is quick to respond. Where is Narimel?! And Deoch, and Third? Amaruve turns about, a worried monkey.
Amaruve, you cast about looking for the summerfolk, but there's no sign of them at your landing site. (However, with your perception roll...) On instinct, you look up just in time to see a tell-tale shimmer fade into the blue sky behind it roughly fifty feet overhead.
It would appear at least one of them survived. As you follow the motion of the shimmer, you notice it wheel about briefly. Then, with a thunk, a long beautiful arrow thuds into the turf at your feet. You can almost here Narimel's chiding voice saying "Don't reveal my position. Worry about yourself, bear."
One additional thing: Amaruve, you suddenly revert back into your bear form. It wasn't your choice; the ape form just... ended. No one else noticed anything odd. First guidance, now this. Something is definitely off with your druidic powers.
(For the time being, BD, you have lost your free CR 0 transformations! You'll have to expend a use to take those forms just like any other. Finally, The time you can spend in any form is limited to one hour.)
While resting, and enjoying the company of the group in person once more, Perspicacious recounts, with Cordelia's help the information about the voice that spoke to both them. "His name is Sagacious. One of the members of the Tower. I don't know what he's doing here, or what he has to do with the portals, but he seems to have some modicrum of control, and may be the one who took the children. Be on the look for a gray colored tiefling, and be cautious."
Amaruve starts to walk to Narimel when he suddenly reverts to the form of a bear. Startled he turns left and right looking for the threat that has done this to him... Who could live in a place like this, where Gaia's influence is so erratic...
Having taken a moment to enjoy the beauty of this place, Tony refocuses, “This ‘Tower’ what’s that about? That where you’re whole word-hopping adventure happen or something?”

"Yes, that's where it... where it all started. It's a bit of a long story. How about if we get out of this alive, and save your sister, we'll sit down for a drink and I'll tell you all about it. In the mean time, let's see if we can find a way to get inside this place."Perspicacious will check that everyone is ready and then start to head down the crystal path.
You make your way down the shining path. Nothing and everything catches your attention, Amaruve. This is an ancient, sad, beautiful place. There are ruins and wonders everywhere you look, but nothing you can make sense or use of.
You arrive at the gate.
(This is important: who is at the front of the line? Can everyone sounds off their line position? Cordelia and Kyo are at the rear)
Tony reaches the gate first. It's made of the same worn brown stone as the rest of this place, and ivy has partially obscured a corner of it. It's outlined in the same yellow-white glowing crystal that lined your path, only these have been hewn into a seamless, flowing script that surrounds the door. Tony, you don't recognize the script (does anyone hear know sylvan?). Fiorello, though steps up to the door, excitement written in every line of his body. "Amazing... Amazing! I cannot believe that I'm standing here at the entrance to Laputa! What incredible fortune, what an unbelievable turning of fate to deliver me here!"
From the back of the line, Kyo coughs meaningfully, eyeing the aarakocra. "Ah, yes... right. The children. Ah... Unfortunately, of the many languages I speak, Sylvan is not among them. I could try any number of dispelling enchantments and opening charms, but I believe that this door will be locked by both magic and an incredibly advanced technology. Unless one of you here possesses a similar technological wonder on your person, I'm afraid that we might need to find another point of ingress."
There is no obvious seam, handle, bell, or hinge to this door. There is, however, a circular indentation at the center of the gate at roughly head-height...
(We're all adults here; you can make your checks as you see fit!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Amaruve walks up to the front of the pack to put his keen sences to use, but as Tony presses through to the head of the group, Amaruve doesn't press the matter and falls to the rear to keep an eye out for threats... And elves.
When Fiorello mentions advanced technology Amaruve looks over to Jean's pauldrons. He wonders if any remnant of power still remains in that monster. He approaches the door and sniffs the indentation and the area around the door. (Perception: 17)
With Cordelia's start Amaruve is up at his full bear height in an instant, ready to take action.
