**Yeah, it seems like Bauburs hooked and tevii would be holding it so it would help us see them both in the dark. All the other Glithes seemed like they'd either negate what i was trying to do, or cause a big problem for us, so i thought i'd take the hit.**
Gordra, you extend your staff in the direction of Tevii and Baobur. You can't see them, swallowed as they are by the night, but maybe... Pain blooms behind your eyes and you clutch at your face, which has become slick with blood. However (farther downriver than you would have believe possible in so short a time), a beacon erupts like a spotlight in the darkness. (Anyone ever play Breath of the Wild?) It shines with the red-gold light of dragonfire, and even as the rest of you watch it in the sky it seems to travel further downstream. However, you cannot see where it originates behind the bend of the river.
(This beacon can only be seen by you all- the shrews are unaware. Party Elgajo (Elodin, Garo, and Joja) gets +1 ongoing for all rolls to follow the light)
Garo, while Perspicacious is attempting to take control of a group of ships, you see the mayor of Riverside trapped under a pile of rubble. You rescue him easily, hauling a timber off of his leg. He is unconscious, but a group of shrews is there to see to his wounds. By now, the town seems to have controlled the flames. There is no more time to lose, however, and you head back to the ships. (Rivina, I'm not sure why you wanted to take the wounded shrew with you... He'll be safer left with the townsfolk in Riverside)
Perspicacious, with a 9, you manage to catch the attention of one boat captain who had been finishing up with the fire efforts. Helming the skooner is a particularly swarthy-looking rivermouse with a crew of five shrews. He agrees to help you on the river to find your missing companions. However, (again, with a 9) he insinuates that there will be a price to pay for putting his ship at risk piloting the river in the night...
The mouse's name is Norn. Do you all hop aboard his vessel?
(the image I threw together may be a little misleading. Only a few buildings caught fire, and only a couple of structures were damaged. The shrews are capable and can handle the rest by themselves. If you're going to have any chance of finding the others, you need to act now)
(Haha. you're right, you're right... I got swept up in the heady rush of cat embellishment. Needed to get across that, to you all, this thing is nigh insurmountable)
**Yeah, I was pretty worried about the burning town too. Was going to try to justify that since I can control flames in a 5 foot cube, that maybe I could extinguish it all at once since scale wise 5 feet would be huge.**
**Yeah, I was pretty worried about the burning town too. Was going to try to justify that since I can control flames in a 5 foot cube, that maybe I could extinguish it all at once since scale wise 5 feet would be huge.**
(Your magic options while in mouse form are primarily limited to the move description I sent your way, but as always I like where your head is at, Shaz! Let's say that the majority of the flame in that image is a from bit of brush that caught fire just outside the town, but it soon subsided)
Elodin, Garo, and Joja climb aboard the deck of the surprisingly large river ship, Fela's Blessing. Looking about, the shrews are going about the process of readying the vessel by the light of the moon. Skilled, practiced hands tighten ropes, hoist sails, and lift the main anchor. Norn grins hugely at the three of you, a gold tooth glinting as brightly as the cutlass he wears at his hip. "Nothing like a mad pursuit through swift, rocky waters, eh, guardmousies?" He turns to bark a series of orders to the shrews. As he looks back to you, his eyes widen suddenly. "WATCH IT, NOW!" he cries.
Crashing onto the deck of the ship and landing in a heavy roll is the hare, Keenwhistle. Tumbling from her arms is the healer shrew, Fellori. The rabbit must have leapt over three feet from the dock to make it to the ship: an incredible distance, even for a member of the Dawn Patrol.
"Oath and oak!" Fellori curses, "You fool hare! I told you not to jump!" Fellori picks himself up from the deck, where he landed in a sprawl against a barrel. "Fat lot of good I'll be to those mice if I've broken my neck."
Keenwhistle springs to a stand and rocks on her very large heels. She flashes a grin at the healer and aims a playful kick in his direction. "Don't mind him, it's his own fault." She looks to the rest of you. "He was dragging his feet so you'd leave without us. But I was there. I saw what happened. You all saved the people in that Inn- and the mayor- and you drove that... that thing away from the town. This entire forest owes you guardmice a debt of gratitude, and we're here to help."
Norn grunts. "Fair enough, longears. You keep to the front and stay out of the way. The rest of you space yourselves out and keep your eyes on the water; don't go gathering together in one spot! The Blessing is the finest craft ever to sail these wet woods, but she's not immune to capsizing." He takes the tiller, and steers to the main current. "Stay sharp- it's a cruel world out here. Sure as spit we'll be hunted by every cold scaly beastie in the deeps even as we search for your drowned- ah, missing friends."
And with that, you move into the main current, speeding toward the beacon of dragonfire as the first light of dawn streaks the eastern sky at your backs.
Tevii, you awaken to the sound of waves crashing upon the shore. You begin to open your eyes, but you shut them immediately at the sudden glare of the sun. After a moment, you're able to take stock of your surroundings. You're on a beach, there are gulls sounding overhead, and the forest appears to be perhaps twenty feet up the shore. Your fishing line is tangled in a knotted old branch that, it would seem, saved your life when you were knocked unconscious in the river. Your forearm is cold and numb; it takes a few minutes to get life back into it after you untangle the line from your arm. Speaking of which...
Suddenly alert, you see that the still form of Baobur is on the branch, as well. He isn't conscious...
Worried that the bearman may be full of water, she will run to him. Cordelia will look for signs of breathing and possibly begin giving him CPR. She hoped her expired first aid training from 2016 would suffice.

Baobur, you gain consciousness at the exact moment that a stomach-full of seawater exits you via the shortest possible route. With a nine, you still have two harm, but you are awake and stable.
"Great,"Cordelia deadpans with a stony look. "So good for you to rejoin the ranks of the living."
Cordelia takes a moment while Bearbur regains consciousness to look at their surroundings. If it doesn't seem dangerous, she suggests, "Let's walk upstream. Hopefully, we can regroup with the others."
