"We have to find a way out and get to Sagacious." says Perspicacious. Still wet, but thankful not to be drowning, she begins looking for any hint of an exit or way out. Investigation: 14
There is no sign of an exit, Perspicacious. You're surrounding by empty darkness and wet stone. With your roll, however, you do hear something tickling at the edge of your senses. It sounds like running water somewhere in the distance to your left.
Your arcana check tells you that the pole is an arcane focus and possibly a magical item with another purpose, but that's it.

"Do you hear that?"she says, as she heads in the direction of the running water. She keeps the staff, unless someone else offers to check it.
Eyes still blinking in the vast wet black, Fiorello looks at Tony, then at Perspicacious, and then heads off after the rogue. "I could take a look at the staff. I've seen a few here and there and recall a few passages in my readings. Perhaps it could prove useful if we could discern anything about the item," he says as he catches up to her. Fiorello grasps the staff and examines it as they walk. (Arcana: 19)

This is definitely a magic instrument, but it seems... incomplete, somehow. As Fiorello examines the pole, light blue traceries of light appear on the surface of the wood. It thrums softly, and the water at your feet frosts over just a bit.
For the time being, it seems to function as a staff of frost!
Fiorello slips a little on the frosted stone and then looks over at Perspicacious. "It appears to be some sort of staff of frost. We could perhaps use it to transform some of this water to it's frozen form, but I'll admit, while it may be fun to go ice skating a bit, it doesn't seem much more useful than the wet surface here." He continues to look at the item, "Still, it could be quite a useful article in the right hands."
Tony pipes up while looking around for an exit, “Sounds like you, magic man. Better you than the bird anyway. Er, the other bird. Burgee, or something. Now, why don’t ya help us look around here.”

Tony, your goblin instincts start ringing. Whatever it is the party is marching toward is TROUBLE. Lost as you are, this is no longer your lounge; you can tell that you left the boundaries of that space a while ago. This... Void is an unfamiliar neighborhood, and there's something big and bad up ahead.
Fiorello, you hear it over the splashing of your companions' boots: The sound of running water is shifting. It seems to be moving around and to the side of you. You also notice ripples in the water at your feet like the wake of a speedboat (not that you've ever seen one of those before in the plane of air).
... "Still, it could be quite a useful article in the right hands."
Still in his lumbering larger suitless bear form Amaruve stops a moment and stands as he looks down at his massive paws. (I'm not sure if you require the use of hands to hold a thing, but if no one else can use it I imagine Amaruve can hold it in his teeth on occasion.)
Obviously still a bit distracted, Amaruve is pleased to see his companions so alert. He follows Fiorello's gaze and then Tony's, and charges off toward the sound. Separated from his party briefly he may draw the creature out if it thinks it can pick him off.
The water surges at your feet, cresting at your knees (or, in Tony's case, his waist). As only the five of you are visible in this place, however, you cannot see whatever is causing this disturbance. A great, guttural, gurgling, growl rumbles through The Void above your heads...
(Sorry, BD! We posted at the same time! Since you're offering yourself up as bait...)
Roll perception, BD! DC 15; (No advantage here, there's nothing to smell)
(Should you fail...)
A massive column of water comes roaring out of the darkness from above! It slams into you, dealing 8 bludgeoning damage. It doesn't stop, though. It continues on like a great watery snake, rushing away into the darkness as the sound of its passage fades into the distance.
(You'll have an opportunity for a dodge and an AOO if you succeed on the perception roll!)
"I must admit, I'm at a bit of a loss here," Fiorello remarks as the water crests around them. "This staff, if memory serves, can create a wall for us, but I'm not sure quite where it would be of use," he says looking around. "And not to alarm anyone, but... there seem to be some odd movements in the water. Do any of you have any thoughts on where or when we might be? This is an unfamiliar place to me. I wonder perhaps..." Fiorello pauses a moment to think back through ancient books and tales to try to recall anything that may be familiar to the scene they now find themselves in.

Fiorello, you've seen Tony use his pocket lounge once or twice before. This is the first time any of you have been inside it, though.
You have a basic understanding of pocket dimensions (you summon your holy symbol, an enormous encyclopedia, from a pocket dimension when you require it). From what you know of them, you consider yourself lucky that this one at least has a breathable atmosphere and normal physics.
You also recognize that the staff will only be usable once it has been attuned, and that active appears to be the only lass of magic user who can attuned to it. With your history roll, you recall that Jean's attack on the water elemental with her ice club seemed to slow it down. If you take a short while to rest, Amaruve will then be able to use the staff to help ward off the monster.
As far as escape goes... Pocket dimensions remain tethered to a plane of existence; otherwise they would be unusable. You might be able to open a door if you can find a "tether point", but this is a pretty big space, and there's a giant monster speeding around.
(I'm going to push things forward of you all don't mind)
After that initial onslaught on the bear, there is no further sign of the monster (can someone please give it a name?). You all decide to lick your wounds and take a short rest before venturing out into the dark. (Amaruve, this is your chance to attune! once you've spent whatever hit dice you place to use:) You determine that you need to find a way out of this place.
(This next segment is going to be like Island hopping on the steam skippers. I'd like everyone to rollsurvival. I'll take the highest roll of the first three people who post, and that will determine what (if anything) you find! Feel free to describe any roleplaying exchanges here, too. We have a new player, so let's get to know one another!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Sorry for the silence! I expected combat after that initial attack)
Tony, having recovered from the shock of the Serpent Sea’s attack, speaks up, “Alright, I think I got a vague idea of how this place works. If we need to find a small hole out of here, then the ripples that we make should bounce off of it, right? Like when you drop a rock in a pond and then drop another in. So we just look for where our ripples are cut short!”
Survival: 8. Tony knows nothing of magic or how it works.
