Keys are easier than lockpicks, though not always quicker. Vespera will use the key to open the crypt. She let those with more strength remove the bars and open the heavy doors. As we're about to open the doors, she warned, "Be ready, there might be undead in here as well."
Vespera inserts and turns the key, releasing the padlock. Her companions (Silver and Manny) help with the chain and push on the heavy door, which slides easily open, unexpectedly silent.
Echoes of voices and the clang of metal on stone are heard as the door opens. They stop abruptly now, after a high-pitched sounding command in a language you do not understand or hear wrong.
A wide corridor leading down is revealed. The chamber’s floor is not level but formed of broad, shallow stone steps, each tier only a few inches higher than the last, creating a slow, deliberate descent. (like a stone amphitheater laid flat). There are torch-holders on the walls, holding trimmed, usable torches that are currently unlit. Because of the light from outside, the corridor in front of you seems darker than it is. You can nevertheless see where it ends. Some 30 meters ahead, (down) a big chamber opens.
(I tried until i ran out of free pictures for the day, but GPT will not change the stairs to go down, have no clue why. He had made the pic days ago, going up, but now wont change it to do down :S)
With her darkvision Vespera felt no need to light the torches as she led the way forward, using her usual caution for checking for traps and ambushes. With undead spawning all over the island, she would not be surprised to find some in a crypt!
The room that opens at the end of the stairs is spacious. It is dark, but that does not trouble you.
The room seems to be a ceremonial chamber for the family crypt.
You do not pay attention to any more details, because there are sahuagin in the room.(Vespera has seen / knows what they are)
The room is roughly 40 feet x 40 feet. There is a wooden door on the left wall(west), roughly half way. Closed.
There is a wooden door in the corner opposite and to the left of you (NW wallwall), it stays open and a sahuagin is there, looking at you.
Another door, a heavy stone one, is in front of you on the north wall, it is closed. A pair of sahuagin is trying to open it with their spears. Another sahuagin, his spear raised, is slowly crossing the room, roughly from its center towards you, spear at the ready to either attack or perhaps just defend if you do.
“Go away human” - he says
He stops approx 20 ft from you, sets the spear ready for defense.
Silverlining had followed Vespera to the crypt and listened to her warnings about undead. He was still green when it came to such matters and relied on the Tiefling to call the shots (and his inner voice). Like the rogue, he had no immediate need for light as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. To MEP-RU it was as if a low-light sensor was activated. Upon observing the Sahuagin, Silverlining moves off to Vespera’s left. He notes each creatures location. He is still unarmed, and with open hands, palms toward the ground, he says, “We will not go away. We have needs here same as you. But what are you doing here and how did you get in?” With as much sympathy as he can muster in his voice he adds, “Or perhaps you were trapped here?”
Vespera hands Silverlining her short sword as she says queietly, "I hate it when someone breaks in before you do..." She draws her short bow and nocks an arrow.
She waits to see if Silverlinings words have any effect on the sahuagin. But if the one keeps advancing on her, he's going to get shot before he reaches her.
(Since you start readying weapons, they do too, roll initiatives. Initiative for all the sahuagin = 16)
Manny initiative = 5. Manny will be blasting with eldritch blast and keeping distance.
The sahuagin are proud frenzied warriors and they don't much care for tactics. They toss their spears at you (one each) and then charge with a frenzy.
(they just want to rip you apart, any tactics you want to employ, flank etc, describe them and we will see how the combat goes. I will post Sahuagin stats and rolls so you can make your battles cool)
(Sahuagin on manny: HP = 15, Sahuagin on Silver HP = 12, Sahuagin on Vespera HP = 20. They all have AC = 12. Multiattack. The sahuagin makes two melee attacks: one with its bite and one with its claws.
Blood Frenzy. The sahuagin has advantage on melee attack rolls against any creature that doesn't have all its hit points.)
@Combat: spears: 3, 7, 12. - The sahuagin in their haste to spit you to the walls with their spears, throw real bad and all of them miss all of you. That does not seem to bother them as they bare their teeth and rush you in a frenzy.
Each of you is free to describe their own combat, you can work together, flank, plan fancy stuff as long as it is posted on the forums for all participants to see. First to post, gets the 1st dmg dice, 2nd to post the next etc. After 48h, if there are no posts I will roll for you as well as the sahuagin and post the results of the combat.
The rolls you see above were pre-rolled in excel. I find it speed things up, also, it allows people to predict the future and well, come up with cool stuff as well. If you want me to come up with stuff for you, just roll me a few rounds of dice and tell me your tactics etc, and I will.
@Example, the 1st attack on Manny is a 16. Manny's AC is 14. I am pretty sure if one of you pushed the sahuagin / shoulder bump, or trip, or manny found a plank of wood on the floor, the AC could get up to 16, or the sahuagin roll a disadvantage etc. Same for the 20 landing on Silver. The next result is low, so a disadvantage would make the Sahuagin miss. If I were you , I would come up with nice combat / battle stuff instead of plain rolls.
For example, on your turn Silver, dont go "I attack the sahuagin, rather, lose your "attack" turn, make a narrative about how you inconvenience the sahuagin and then it goes not get the 20, but the 4 instead, because of disadvantage.
Edit: also, you can treat the initiative as nonexistent if you want, for example. Silver and his attacker act simultaneously, say silver dragonbreath's in the sahuagin's face. If the sahuagin sails the save, it could also become disadvantaged on its attack, hence bypassing the 20 and using the 4.
Or, MEP-RU can fly out and into the sahuagins eye for the same result - disadvantage. Or both, Silver breathers, MEP-RU helps Manny. Etc.
Manny gets his feet shoulder width apart, left foot sole even with the right foot toes, and the left hand is out stretched and with a sharp crack an energy beam erupts from the fingers into an impact of force.
OOC not sure how to describe my combat. I don't know how to translate those numbers. I can't access the roll feature as I am not using a PC. Will roll in the game log and also place it here:
Silverlining was trying to avoid a confrontation. Partly because of his monk training, but also because he was unsure how and why the Sahuagin were here. But his non-threatening stance was taken for weakness and his opponent took the initiative to bring the fight to him. Roynd 1: In action to the multiple attacks from the creature, and still wanting to avoid initially harming them, the monk takes the Dodge action (granting disadvantage on attacks) and gracefully side steps the first lunge. The second misses as well (dodge grants disadvantage until start of next turn) although it is much too close for the Dragonborn’s comfort.
Round 2: After determining that the combatants won’t stop until incapacitated, Silverlining goes on the offensive with his opponent and throws a couple of open palm strikes for the next round as the Sahuagin misses (with the 4). To Hit: 21, Damage: 4 To Hit: 22, Damage: 4
Round 3: Going back on the defensive, trying to slow down the pace of his attackers, the monk once again takes up the Dodge action. Where both of the Sahuagin’s two multi attacks are parried and side-stepped. As part of Silverlining’s defensive plan, he steps away from the combatant. Where it might be an otherwise foolish move to open himself up to an Attack of Opportunity, the weaving he is doing as he steps away once again grants disadvantage to his attacker. Just as the fishface had stretched out his mouth to strike, the monk spins away and the AoO is likewise a miss. Silverlining uses his movement to flank another Sahuagin (probably Vespera’s), allowing her Advantage.
Round 4: MEP-RU had had enough of Silverlining’s footwork. While the Dragonborn had used its training to avoid the attacks, it knows that you can’t win on defense alone. And so, MEP-RU increases the endocrine system’s Adrenalin and pushes for the monk to strike more. Silverlining responds with another set of open-palm strikes against his opponent’s (10) miss. To Hit: 12, Damage: 8 (8+4+4 should be enough to kill/incapacitate Silverlining’s opponent).
The monk then moves to any remaining combatants and throws his (Bonus Action) strike. To Hit: 18, Damage: 3
Vespera hands Silverlining her short sword as she says queietly, "I hate it when someone breaks in before you do..." She draws her short bow and nocks an arrow.
sorry, I didn’t see this before I posted. Narratively, he wouldn’t have accepted the weapon anyways. If he took it at all, it would have been only to free Vespera’s hands.
Ok, Manny can do 2 more rounds, Vespera can do 4 rounds. Vespera has at least 1 sneak attack on round 3 if i see it correctly and possibly on round 1 if initiative is higher than the sahuagin. Perhaps many more with smart play.

Manny sidesteps, to change position and sets and unleases another sharp crack sounding burst of Force energy though his left fingertips.
To hit (adjusted) 20 damage 14
With some minor waist movement, the solidly planted feet stay still and then one can hear the 4th time an energy crackle erupt from Manny fingers.
To hit 21 damage 11.
