@kohlmetz_d, the corridor is 5 to 6 ft wide, but unless you tell me you bottleneck them, you will fight in the big room, because its logical for the to try to push for that.
If on the other hand you tell me that you will use the door / fight at the door / try to bottleneck them, its a totally different combat situation, one where you are not surrounded :)
(sry did not post earlier, had to go places after work. should be able to post between 5 pm - 6 pm EST before bed.)
Yes, Vespera wants to block them in the hallway so they can't surround us and we can fight 3 on 1 vs. 1 at a time. Otherwise I don't think we'll survive!
If she gets a chance, she'll fire a shot with her short bow while they are still approaching before switching to her twin daggers for melee.
Silverlining rushes to the door, the wall on his left. He is maybe ten feet from the door. He makes sure his companions are clear as he takes a deep breath, just before making eye contact with the first Sahuagin.
He exhales a blast of frosty cold trying to get all 6 inside the 15’ cone as they are just about to breach the entry.
The cone of frost envelops the sahuagin and all six stop in their tracks. The pretty much roll over each other while trying to stop and turn around. They do not sound enraged anymore, but rather scared. The shouts of anger they were charging you with are now shrieks of fear. They fall over each other as they try to sprint full speed they way they came.
@Silver, you know that there is no way your breath did all that.
In a mechanical voice she added, "It appears that they too are after the crystal. They may return, but hopefully, not quickly. Vespera, can you check out the door they were trying to open?"
Leaving the others to watch the hallway, Vespera checks out the door.
It is a big stone door, with no visible handle or lever to open. On the wall beside it is a slot that might require something to be placed in it.
You see that the sahuagin have been using their knives and spears all around the door, trying to force in and get leverage. The slot (crest holder) is also quite scratched. All the scratches are recent.
@GM - Unless you give chase to kill, the sahuagin are gone. If you do want to chase to kill, let me know ( you get full exp either way)
There are three dead sahuagin in the room, the ones you killed.
Now that you have the time (or a bit later if you chase the sahuagin), you can look around the room. There are two sets of skeleton bones, similar to the ones you saw outside. They bear, spear, claw and bite marks, fresh.
There are a set of zombie bodies as well, bearing the same marks.
Vespera will check out the slot. It appears that something needs to be inserted there open the door. She'll try probing it with her thieve's tools to try to get an idea what would go in there (or open it if possible).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Manny is looking at the slot and everything else, saying, "We know the sahuagin don't have the lever so I doubt itis in this room....Silver, that is a great breath you have, must be pretty stinky to have them run away in fear...Any connection between you and that dragon we ran into when we were...ah...we...we...arrived?"
It was a white dragon. Vespera and Silver both know general knowledge about them. Unless they share, you have no clue. Except, you did see the dragon breath sleet / ice and lightning on the air-ship.
@Vespera, The slot is roughly a hand span , and it seems to require something be put in it. You see absolutely no mechanical parts and safely assume it is magical / locked by magic. You would either need magic or the key stone to get in.

“The connection between dragon and Dragonborn depends upon who you ask. Some believe we are the result of tampering by Tiamat. Others, as a blessing of Bahamut. Still others preach we were ‘engineered’ to serve the dragons as the kobolds do.”
“As for a direct connection between myself and the dragon that attacked our airship, is just that. It—the attacker, me—a victim.”

Silverlining watches as Vespera fiddles with the door mechanism. “Hmm, perhaps the key we need is on the people we need to find. Which is the reason we need that which is behind the door, that we can’t get without finding them. A real predicament this is.”
As Silverlining speaks, MEP-RU tries to scan the door for possible manipulation or indication of what the exact key would look like. If it needed, it would pop out of Silverlining long enough to perform the scan.
You scan the door and the key slot. You do not see how to get in unless the door is opened first. (It might just be me, if you have original ideas let me know. Also for purposes like this, lets treat the MEP as a Gaseous Form, so cant pass walls. Unless you pick up feats / abilities / skills towards that.)
“Perhaps looking around the rest of this place will grant us some answers. There is that door over there, right? The Dragonborn tried to work out a solution to their current dilemma.
The Imp in the form of a ravens lands on Manny's shoulder. Manny says to Silverlining, "If you can give a good description of what you think the key looks like, my Imp can fly around and see if they can find it."
So, can I assume that you now carefully explore the rest of the crypt ? If yes, any particular rule on when Vespera looks for traps or shall I just use the passive ?

Or use Passive, the DM choice.
After Siliverlining passes on to the imp a key description aka what to look for, the imp disguised as a raven turns invisible and flies around looking.

So the imp saw 5 more sahuagin that are almost here (they are running 2 abreast). You come up with a plan, you get off 1 action then initiative counts.

@everyone: do you chase ? kill ? let go ?
Vespera whistled and then said, "Impressive!"

There is still a closed door on the West door.
Below is the slot / crest slot.
The lights are off atm and the whole thing is grey stone instead of wood.
Vespera will check out the slot. It appears that something needs to be inserted there open the door. She'll try probing it with her thieve's tools to try to get an idea what would go in there (or open it if possible).

Manny
The Imp in the form of a ravens lands on Manny's shoulder. Manny says to Silverlining, "If you can give a good description of what you think the key looks like, my Imp can fly around and see if they can find it."
Vespera agrees, "Indeed, if the key was where the sahuagin came from, they should have had it. So let's check out the remaining door..."
She then goes examine the remaining door for traps or locks.
Perception: 5 (nat 1), she sees nothing...
So, can I assume that you now carefully explore the rest of the crypt ? If yes, any particular rule on when Vespera looks for traps or shall I just use the passive ?
Passive is good, especially considering her last active roll... 😀
