Musashi rests his maul on his shoulder, the magical hum fading as he watches the last of the fiends dissolve into radiant ash. He glances at the hell-puppy and its wagging tail, then back at the 500-foot hole above them.
"The guides are dead, the treasure was a trap, and we're at the bottom of the world with a hell hound for a mascot" Musashi says, a rare, dry chuckle escaping his helm. "A rest is exactly what we need. I'm not keen on climbing out of here until my lungs stop burning."
He finds a sturdy piece of fallen masonry and sits, keeping his eyes on the dark tunnels while the others settle. "Gail, keep your friend fed. If he smells something coming from the deep, I want to know before it reaches us."
