Cato, despite his years of training, can't seem to connect on an attack. The wily veteran knew better than to lose his cool, he turned his focus to his injured teammate. Calling on the power of his faith, he releases a wave of healing magic, nearly getting Tory back to 100%.
Tory, inspired by Cato's healing touch, lashes out with her blade again. She favored the dagger as a thrown weapon, but knew that her enemy was too close to try with out disadvantaging herself. She needed a bit of room to let it fly. Not one to be deterred by an upended idea, she offers up a bit of smack talk before tossing the dagger to her left hand, catching it deftly even as she leaned in to bury it in the kobold's throat. His gurgle never cleared a severed windpipe.
K4 looks at what remained of his cousin, Glizkik, a large hole seared through his chest, snarls in rage, and lunges at Gus, his dagger flashing in the eerie light of Aunt Rose's faerie fire. ***attack dagger 24 (critical hit)damage 8 piercing*** His black eyes gleam in delight as his blade slips through Gus' defenses. The gnome's eyes opened wide when the dagger hit home, buried to the hilt in his chest. "Well, would you..." he managed to say softly before his legs gave out and he fell to the floor.
K5 frantically tries to extinguish the magical flame. With a growl, he slashes at the druid who made it. ***attack dagger 16 hit damage 3 piercing*** The hit was not severe, but it distracted her enough to lose concentration on her spell.
"Oh, dear!" Aunt Rose said when she heard Gus fall. "Oh, my, my, my. That just won't do, no it won't." Despite her graying hair and rotund appearance, Rose had the glint of steel in her eyes when she was angry. Rose had the glint of steel now. She glared at the little dragonkin, knuckles turning white with the death grip she had on her staff. Pulling herself back together a bit, she chanted softly, dipping her knees slightly and reaching back, her hand, glowing a soft blue, she toughed Gus on whatever leg, arm, or head was closest, releasing a wave of divine magic. ***cure wounds: 7 HP to Gus***

Gus inhales sharply, coughs immediately afterward, and jerks awake flat on his back staring at the ceiling. For several long seconds he simply blinks.“Well would you look at that…” He pats weakly at his chest. “I got stabbed.”
Still half-sprawled on the floor, Gus slowly raises the spoon towards the kobold. "Mind Sliver" Gus whispers.......

For the briefest moment after Gus hit the floor, the room went strangely quiet in Torwynn’s mind.
Not silent—
just wrong.
The kind of wrong that settled cold beneath the ribs before you had time to name it.
Then the idiot sat back up clutching a spoon and immediately started casting again.
Torwynn let out a sharp breath that might have been a laugh.
“Gods,” she muttered, shaking her head once, “you really are impossible.”
Her eyes snapped toward the kobold that had dropped him.
The grin she wore now was smaller.
Sharper.
“Oh no,” she said lightly, stepping over the body of the kobold she’d already killed.
“That one was ours.”
She moved fast—too fast this time.
The dagger flashed toward the creature in a clean, angry strike, but the wreckage littering the floor shifted underfoot at the last second. Her boot caught against shattered wood, throwing the angle off just enough for the kobold to jerk back clear of the blade.
The miss earned an irritated click of her tongue.
“Unfortunate,” Torwynn sighed.
Then her orange eyes lifted back to the kobold, bright with dangerous amusement.
“You should know,” she added conversationally, resetting her stance, “it usually goes much worse for the ones that stab my friends.”
***OoC: Cato and Gal are up. Two kobolds remain.***

Gal gives the Kobolds no time to glance and plot with eachother. She’s seen the damage that these kobolds are capable of and she’s ready for it to end!! She reaches back into her quiver and grabs an arrow, cocks it onto her now, and aims at Kobold 5.
Cato braces again and prepares to attack k4. Still burning with embarrassment for letting a round backside distract him from battle, Cato moves with determination towards his target. He raises his longsword high and brings it down with finality.
Gal slides a half step to her right, opening up a clean line to half of K5. Half was all she needed. The arrow slammed into the dragon-kin's shoulder, eliciting an immediate yelp of pain.
Cato wastes no time in pushing back into the thick of things. With his focus back on the task at hand, the veteran warrior slashed out with his, thus far, shiny, clean sword. The kobold threw his hips out and his head back, grinning wickedly. Only three inches of steel found it's mark, but that was enough. A line of crimson flew out following the sword. The beast tried to scream, but could only manage a weak gurgle as most of the important things in his throat were slashed clean through. He stared at you with wide eyes, but only briefly.
The last kobold throws his dagger on the ground, hand moving to the arrow in his shoulder. "No fight, no fight. You win," he cries out.

He limps forward through the wreckage, blood still stains the front of his coat, but Gus carries himself with complete authority. “A moment ago,” Gus says, pointing the spoon directly at the kobold, “you were extremely committed to murder.”He squints slightly at the creature. “Now suddenly we’re negotiating. Interesting character growth.”
Gus studies the creature in complete silence for several long seconds, not angry, not threatening, just looking at him with the deep focus of someone trying to solve a puzzle.
The kobold, standing in a puddle of his friends, his own blood adding to the growing pool, nods yes.
