Name: Sevrin Veyl (likely an alias; true name unknown)
Race: Changeling
Class and Subclass: Rogue 3 (Mastermind) / Bard 2 (College of Eloquence)
Background: Courtier
Alignment: Neutral (leaning toward Neutral Evil pragmatism, but not malicious)
Backstory:
Sevrin Veyl emerged from Cliffgrave, a city where the truth is rarely spoken aloud. From a young age, he learned to listen more than speak, to become what a moment required, and to understand that people reveal themselves most clearly in what they leave unsaid.
Over time, Sevrin stopped thinking of his shifting nature as disguise and began to treat it as purpose. In some places, that meant carrying himself with the quiet authority of someone accustomed to being obeyed, speaking with precision and expectation among those who valued status. In others, it meant adopting a sharper, more practical demeanor, direct, observant, and welcome in rooms where truth was something to be uncovered rather than presented. And along the borders, where alliances were less certain, he learned to move between borders with careful familiarity, speaking just enough of each side’s language be accepted.
When Basil Darkbranch was killed, Cliffgrave chose silence. The network that once thrived on uncovering secrets showed no urgency, no outward search for answers. That absence of action may have revealed more than any investigation could have: someone may already know the truth, and had decided it may be better left buried.
Sevrin followed opportunity where it surfaced. Sir Nikolas Stoneclaw’s invitation offered exactly that, a missing son, a fractured council, and a gathering of individuals all potentially circling the same unanswered question(s).
Backstory: Eve's relatives were peripherally in the guild, enough to teach her a few things. And they were occasionally useful enough to the celestials that every once in a while one of them got celestial sorcerous power. Thus Eve grew up skirting the law, and being a courier between Cleica and Espar,. She was raised in Boulderbreak, in Espar. Her goblin connections and skill with forgery come in handy sometimes.
