(Updates might be sparse for the rest of the day. Assuming we jump straight to an inn:)
Kinnik sits with the team for a while, nursing his wounds and enjoying the retelling of their battle (complete, I'm sure, with Cap's many embellishments). After a bit, he moves outside, leaving the schema with his friends. He climbs the back wall and discovers a small widow's walk that is otherwise unoccupied. There's a tiny brazier there, and Kinnik gets a fire going in short order. A spell, really more of a ritual, comes to his mind. Touching a talon to the book in his pocket, he hops back downstairs to dicker with the innkeeper on the price of a few herbs and a bit of coal. Returning to his makeshift roost, he carefully arranges his components just so. He sits cross-legged in front of the brazier, breathing in the fumes as his mind goes blank and hazy...
Flight. It always comes down to that, doesn't it? His kind were cursed, they said. Cursed to follow, to cheat, to steal. To only ever mimic the deeds of others, and never to fly. Well, part of that curse had been lifted today. And with its lifting he began opening doors in his mind that he hadn't known were there. His mimicry was gone, likely for good. But in its place...
He comes back to himself and slowly opens his eyes. Kinnik had no desire to fly, he never had. But he had found his voice today, and he had finally, finally discovered his magic.
He hears a chattering coming from the Kenku's lap. Looking down, he smiles and says, "So you're my new guide? It is a distinct pleasure to meet you, my friend." Sitting in the palm of his hand is a small gray-brown squirrel. It hops up to his shoulder, and nuzzles his cheek. "You need a proper name. What should it be, do you think?" The squirrel then leaps from his shoulder and, completely unexpectedly, spreads its legs wide to reveal gliding membranes that stretch from paw to paw. It soars to the edge of the widow's walk and perches on the railing. Kinnik laughs, surprised and delighted. "Fantastic! Zeph, I think. A proper name for a creature as quick and cunning as you."
(Ok I'm not totally sure what is happening, so I'm just going to make up stuff, and you can correct me if I miss the mark)
Olen leads his friends out of the Cannith facility and then back out of the sewers.
Back in familiar territory, Olen leads his friends back up and out of the cogs, until they are again above ground, with a thin sliver of sky only just visible, far far above them, between the towers.
Working their way back through Sharn, the group makes it back to the Gilded Lotus.
Going inside they find that Boss has headed out on other business and isn't expected back until tomorrow.
The group stashes their loot and the Schema away in their living quarters, and goes out to have a drink and talk, before calling it a night and getting some sleep.
While they are talking, Kinnik heads outside for some air, coming back later with a small squirrel on his shoulder.
(Yes, that is perfect, Paradox! I know it's weird, but feel free to just say and do whatever you'd like during roleplay. It's only when you interact with important NPCs that I need to be more directly involved. Everyone, please read Kinnik's little aside in the spoiler. We are doing some RPing being Boss comes back since we are on Holiday Time and I know a lot of people have family/kids/etc.)
When you make your return to the Gilded Lotus, you find that business is still on the slow end. You see the handful of regulars that barely keep the place going. There is a new face sitting at one of the card tables playing Blackjack with of Cap's crewmates, Ropes, serving as the dealer. Cap has a bad feeling seeing that Nav left Ropes to play dealer as Ropes can be a bit, well, naive.

The Kenku nods enthusiastically and places a finger to his beak in a shushing gesture. He tucks Zeph into his pocket and heads upstairs for his roost.
He hops out of a second floor window and onto his familiar rooftop. He pauses a moment to take in his belongings, walking his old circuit, touching each item in turn. And he feels... embarrassed. These objects, his treasures, they're little more than garbage. How could he have cared so much for them? Kinnik shudders, then, falling into a crouch and hugging his knees. He was different, now-so very different.
He would have to ask Boss about getting an actual room at the Lotus...
Olen nods and taps his nose, to communicate his understanding to keep the familiars presence hidden.
Olen watches Kinnik head upstairs before turning back to his other friends,
"He is definitely our Kinnik, but he's also kind of not our Kinnik, you know what I mean? Something happened to him down in that facility, I only hope he is ok."
"I do love that he can speak fully to us now though. But I think we may have to get to know him again, somewhat."
Olen shakes the troubles out, putting on a smile,
"Hopefully we can get a nice payout from this job, and the sail of all the antique items we picked up."
On the entire trip back to the Lotus, Copper seems not himself. The usually rambunctious shifter seems distant, occasionally rubbing his temples or looking over his shoulder as if hearing something. Once they get back, he immediately goes up and locks himself in his room. he is in there for some time, missing the recounting of there adventure and Kinnik's newfound familiar. During this time, anyone passing by might here whispers of gibberish, loud arguing, growls, and most disturbingly: manic, hysterical laughter. When Copper returns, he has stripped off his armor, wearing only his slim fitting trousers and a shirt drenched in sweat. "Three shots for me. And another round of whatever these guys are drinking." he says to whoever is behind the bar, gesturing to his companions. To Shroud he responds "Some nice new armor. Maybe some jewelry. And the most expensive bottle of liquor I can find. Maybe Kirinhorn Gin." Once he receives the shots, he'll down each of them in succession. What's even more striking than his odd behavior, is that for the first time any of you have known Copper, you see him now without his mysterious green crystal axe.
