As you all reach the outcropping, cracking of lightning and showers of sand chase you in through a natural opening. It swells around you initially before dyeing down. Once it does, you notice the mysterious one has mysteriously disappeared.
A small, hollowed out cavern surrounds you with a few naturally formed corridors lead away from this main opening. Small clusters of some kind of crystal are gathered sporadically around the area.
You can hear noises of scraping metal echo throughout the cavern from one of the pathways.

Yasei, panting out of breath, will sit down in a lotus position and try to calm her heart rate and spirit down. Reaching outward with her spirit, she attempts to listen in on the sounds and smells of the cavern and corridors: (Perception 8).
Cora, with her blades drawn, stays close to the others. Just in case.
Slowing her breathing, she was beginning to like the thrill of combat. Her body certainly liked it, and her heart gave her no protest to the exercise. It's almost like she was meant to do this. Clearly she had been in many fights, the scars on her body, and all, but..why? Was it because people didn't like her? Where was she from? What have I done to have been given such punishment. She snapped out of her thoughts to stand close to Spinach, Dani, and Yasei.
Dusting herself off, Yasei drops the huge chunk of Ankheg she lugged with her to the rock outcropping. After listening intently to the surroundings, she turns to check on the health and welfare of the others in the group.
Whispering, "If you are caught unprepared by a sudden rainstorm, you should not run foolishly down the road or hide under the eves of houses. You are going to get soaked either way. Accept that from the beginning and go on your way. This way you will not be distressed by a little rain. Apply this lesson to everything."
Turning to listen to the wind again, a moment later she whispers: "A warrior is worthless unless she rises above others and stands strong in the midst of a storm." Pointing towards the north passageway, she continues "We are not alone here, my companions. Someone....or something....is that way."
You guys sneak forward and under the noise from outside, easily move stealthily through the cavern. The glow from a fire ahead creeps around the corner and a delicious smell fills your nostrils.
You see a short, stout figure sitting with it’s back to you. It looks to be sharpening a spear with a whetstone. You see a pack off to the side which is overflowing with nets and a steel trap has fallen out onto the floor.
An interesting contraption, long and consisting primarily of a long steel barrel is resting against the pack.
It stops, and picks up a triangle of flatbread with various toppings on it from next to it on a rock where it’s sitting. Cheese strings from the plate as it brings it over to it’s mouth. (Hint. Pizza.)

Seeing the humanoid ahead, Cora paused as if something in her head clicked. She backs up a bit, holding Danica's arm and leans into her ear, whispering a little too close. "It might be pizza, sweet cheeks." she says, hopeful. "Yasei tells me to never give up, though." She backs up a bit and does an impression of Yasei, squinting her eyes a bit and putting her hands together. "Bīngdòng sān chǐ, fēi yīrì zhī hán! 'It takes more than one cold day for a river to freeze a meter deep'. She always had these sayings for me when I was at my worst. Always full of wisdom that one."
She softly snorted in a laugh as if remembering a distant memory, then winked at Danica a bit too saucily for how long they’ve known each other. After a moment, Cora's expression seemed to return to “normal”, as if she had already forgotten what she had just said.
Yasei backtracks a little bit, and gathers the group together in a little huddle. Whispering, she comments “It is not wise to show up in a guest’s house unannounced. And I’m not so sure this fellow is alone. How do you suggest we make our presence known?”
"Perhaps, and if he turns out to be hostile we can probably overwhelm him before any reinforcements get there. If we're ready for action we probably have nothing to lose from talking first." Danica replied.

"Yeah, were did asparagus go..?" Cora asks innocently.

You can barely make out the methodical scraping of metal coming from a passage leading north over the roar of the storm outside.

"I hope it's a pizza." Cora whispered, hopeful. "I'm starving." She stood there for a moment thinking. "I like the rain, too."
Danica smiled wryly at Cora's comment. "I doubt it's a pizza, but let's find out anyway." She moved cautiously in the direction of the noise.

Cora shrugged. "Why don't we just walk up and say hello?" she suggested.
"Perhaps, and if he turns out to be hostile we can probably overwhelm him before any reinforcements get there. If we're ready for action we probably have nothing to lose from talking first." Danica replied.
