Masters of Eothia 1-20

Swearing at herself for her previous pathetic attack, Yasei's normally placid battle face cracks and a large frown appears, barely hiding gritted teeth.  She shows no mercy to the prone bugbear and goes in for the kill:

Katana Attack: 23 Damage: 11

Wakizashi Attack: 23 Damage: 9

Watatsumi swoops down following Yasei's bladed attack, and attempts to bite the bugbear on the neck:

Attack: 17 Damage: 1

Nicely done! A fierce combination of attacks sends the final Bugbear off to sleep for food. We are now out of combat!

It goes quiet once the last Bugbear hit the ground with a heavy -thud-. The silence is broken by the sound of a heavy chain clanging on the ground and the sounds of a large beast to the west.

There are tunnels which lead north, East, West and two which lead south. Which way would you like to proceed?

Danica kneels down and attempts to see if she can spot Cora's footsteps so she can figure out the right direction.

Yasei cleans her blades and puts them back, and casually walks over to pick up Cora's weapons (which they saw when they first walked into the cave).  Noticing Danica's good idea, she'll then stoop down and crawl around, seeing if she can also see Cora's footsteps:

("Hm. She went this way. And..she's wearing size 8 and a half Adidas bought from..'North County Carlsbad Mall'...?")

While Crispy laid there broken, she dreamed. Most of the time the dreams were bad, but this time it was a good one - and they were always brief.

She dreamed of a world she could of lived in, a beautiful dark haired little girl running through the poppy fields in a land with a high sun and green rolling hills. She was sun kissed and her skin was light brown, unblemished by violence and battle. She ran as fast as she could, skipping and laughing, and twirled in the white dress her mother had made. Outside the city was peaceful, and everything the blue eyed girl saw made her smile, and she was happy. She giggled as she chased butterflies and as her Father chopped wood outside their house he took a break and smiled at her lovingly as she pranced in the fields - at what a good girl she was, how proud he was of her, and how much she looked like him. He loved her with all of his heart and more.

She ran up into his arms and he scooped her up over his shoulders and they both laughed as they tickled each other. Then everything went black again.

It was a life that could of been, but never would be.

Between the two of you, Dani and Yasei are almost able to see the path Crispy took play out. You can easily track a line of three footsteps making their way through the dusty, rocky floor to a pathway carved out to the south on the left.

While I'm updating, how do you proceed? Rolling stealth?

Rosli searches the bugbear for anything of value or interest. With a snicker "I think I kicked this one too hard in his junk!"

17 Perception

OOC: another natural 1, what the crap

Hahahaha. With a nat 1 you still manage to scrape up: 18gp, 32 sp and 2 potions minor healing. They also have a crudely drawn map which shows the location of the hunters guild, their watch posts and common hunting grounds of the guild, similar to what was on the bounty board.

A narrow corridor leads down a flight of steps. You can hear the faint sound of footfalls- a regimented patrol of roughly two becoming louder, then softer… stealph rolls plz if that’s your thang.

14 Stealth

As Rosli peeks around the corner, you see the following:

Two Orc guards move up and down this corridor as a patrol. They walk at a relaxed pace, and chat to each other the whole time. You see two short corridors which lead to the south, a corridor down the hallway leading to the north, and a large stone double door down the end.

There are no torches in the north and south corridors, and are darker than the east to west corridor.

In the darkness was a voice. 

“My child. What have you done?”

Swimming lifelessly in the darkness of unconsciousness, Crispy felt herself floating someplace else. The voice was warm, and gentle. Full of love and sounded pleasant. She heard it in the corner of her mind and filled her with subconscious with a calmness and serenity.

“Where have you been? You have been gone for so long. Oh, my love. How I have missed you.”

The voice was unknown to her. Crispy did not need to speak. Her thoughts and feelings were open, and known, wherever on the Planes she was.

”Who am I? I am the one who gave you life. You are angry and afraid. But, I have been always watching you. Always.”

Crispy was filled with emotions. But one overwhelmed all the others completely: Sadness. The warmth of the voice wrapped around her, smothered her.

“Oh, my daughter. I understand how you feel. I know you are filled with questions and an emptiness you have had to carry your whole life. Know that everything I did, and everything I do is because I love you. I always will love you.”

Crispy inwardly tried to retreat and process what was happening, for multiple lifetimes lacking love, joy, and happiness made her unable to process what was happening.

”I must go. Your Father will find me soon. He has grown powerful since you were human, and you must never give up. Always remember that I will be with you and I love you. We will be together again one day.”

Crispy is awoken in a cold shock. You find yourself bound and tied, sitting at the base of the stage now wet from a bucket of water waking you up.

Standing in front of you is Ryu. Aerik doesn't seem interested in your consciousness, rather pre occupied with what he's working on at the bench. Rather, what you do see is the gross spider/eel creature staring at you with a foul grin.

Before you can say a thing, you feel the burning pain of a carefully, slowly drawn blade across your bicep. "Ever heard of death by a thousand cuts?" It says through an unnerving grin.

Crispy woke in cold water shock, instantly awake. She tried to cough but was bound. Her vision took a moment to return..

Mother?

No. Ryu. Aerik. And that thiAGGGHHHH!

The blade slowly cut across her bicep. It was like a horse brand slamming into the muscle. She cried in pain into her mouthrag and bit down hard, tears welling up in her eyes. She panted as her upper arm felt like fire and her heart pounded in anger, she tried to scream though the rag that tied her mouth.

RGhgRRrRrgghh....!

Despite the pain, she used the momentum of the anger to try and pull against her restraints. If Ryu was close enough, she would attempt to headbutt him again.

Yeah nice. All there's girls manage to sneak a peek without seemingly alerting the two guards. You barely hear a familiar voice scream  downdthe end of the hall. hall would you like to do?

Cora's attack falls short of Ryu, who runs another blade across your collar bone like a surgeon being oh so careful to not allow you to pass out again.

Aerik looks down from his work, snikkers and continues to pour liquids from vials into heated jars.

Does the walking path the two guards are taking lead past us?  If so, I think Yasei would probably wait until the two have just passed by us, and then she’d jump out and surprise backstab them.
