Masters of Eothia 1-20

Yasei: "Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay it's price.  You fought well, young one!  The enemy have chosen to retreat...for now."

Yasei will then run over to where Watasumi is whimpering on the ground, pick him up, and swaddle him in a soft portion of her undercloak (he has 3/14 hit points).  Turning to Cora, she will gently rebuke her - "That was foolish and unwise.  You know that the dagger HAD to be trapped, yet you risked the lives of your fellow travelers, Rosli here especially, for that new little trinket.  Hopefully you find worth and value in it that exceeds the value of our own lives, because that is what it nearly cost you."

Crispy batted Rosli's touch away, and slowly turned to Yasei, less than pleased.

"Foolish and unwise?" she said. "Didn't you just get through saying victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay it's price? You did just say that, right, i'm not going deaf, am I?" She shows her the dagger. "Isn't this what we're here for? You think anyone in here is gonna let us just waltz up and let us take it? Of course there was going to be trouble! What did you expect?" She starts to get a little more annoyed. "You don't know anything about me, do you? The Yasei I know spent decades with me, DECADES, both of us risking our lives for things we believed were of value and worth!! If you're afraid of taking risks, why are you even HERE?? I know the dangers of this life. Do you??"   

She then thought about Chubby, and all the times he risked his life to save her.

"When did you become such a coward, Yasei...."

Danica dusted herself off. "Ultimately, we survived. In the time before the Cataclysm, there was a nation named Halruaa. They sailed ships of magic through the air and they had a saying 'Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.' Let's be happy we can walk away."

Rosli will try and brush off some of the spider goop matted into her fur before standing up and using the blunt end of her glaive against the ground to prop herself up. Bouncing up and down a bit Rosli will scan the group "I'm fineeeee... See!"

After a brief pause her bouncing will stop and her happy demeanor will fade... "Do we still have to go kill that spider?"

Crispy grunted, sheathing the dagger. "I want answers, and i'm going to find them even if it kills me."

Crispy's collar glows a bright yellow where the stone is set. A slow clap can be heard coming from the shadows on the other side of the arena. A tall, slender humanoid figure stands on the edge of the moonlighth, his face covered in darkness, but his voice familiar. Aerik.

"I see you did the favour of extracting the relic for me, Crispy Perkins. Thank you for risking your insignificant lives while I was able to regain some of my strength." 

Yasei will haunch down in a samurai Ready pose, directly facing Aerik, protecting Cora. 

"OH! Hohoho, look at your well trained dog.. Some princess you used to be, Yasei! Why do you protect her? Can't you already see all she does is care about her own, selfish needs and couldn't spare a thought for the rest of you?"

You can't see his eyes, but Cora feels his eyes narrow. "... Even though it was a red herring... I'll be needing that dagger, Perkins. You'd better watch your back, eh?"

Whispering to Cora "If you give me the dagger or pretend to give it to me I can distract him and lead him away..." stopping to let out a few obviously painful coughs "after I get outside I'll hide in the forest and wait for you out there."

"Aerik, leave them out of this. This is between you..and me. What has become of you? We used to be family. Don't tell me you're MAD at me for letting you die! WE BOTH AGREED TO THE HEIST! WE BOTH KNEW THE RISKS!!!" she screamed. "SO WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!?"

She didn't move. She just glared at him as her anger grew, slowly. She took out the dagger, held it in her hand.

"You want the dagger?" She says. "Come and take it from me. Let's finish this."

Aerik responds; "Thanks to your little expedition, I was able to obtain The Perfume of Charming... A mundane, magical item from our time used by seductresses, but here- in this world, this realm, it is an item of epicness! Much like that dagger you clutch in your measly little paws. Magic in this world is rare and therefore powerful! I will be coming for that dagger soon enough. I will obtain the ten magical items which exist in this world and become my powerful self, enslaving this spit of land!"

He walks forward, into the light. You can see that one of his eyes has become mutated- far larger than the other, pushing the smaller one closed, almost lost under folds of skin. His eye looks at each of you, a grin spread across his face at the look of horror on your faces. He walks up to you slowly.

Crispy cocks her head without taking her eyes off of Aerik and hands the dagger to Rosli. "Get out of here. I will handle him."

She draws both of her blades and walks towards him as well.

"I thought you couldn't get any uglier, but boy, was I wrong. REALLY nice improvement, Aerik." She spins the blades in her hands, slowly. "You want the dagger? You gotta go through me. You're going have to kill me. But tell me..are YOU afraid to die?"

You walk right up to him and with a swipe through him- the yellow light on your collar flickers. It flickers and so does Aerik. He laughs, an obnoxious laugh as his visage fades from existence and your collar stops glowing.

[What would you like to do from here?]

Crispy looks around confused, and realizing what just happened, throws her blades down on the ground and screams in rage until her throat goes raw.

Rosli will take off out of the cave using a Ki point to cast step of the wind (dash as a bonus action) and using her feline agility (((40x2)x2)=160'). She will ready a disengage as her action for anything that comes at her on her way out.

Oof! Rosli ****en' books it, leaving her non-dark vision party behind hahaha.

Yasei will gently pick up Cora and her dropped blades, and with one arm under her for balance, walk her out of the cave.

The group rejoins outside the spider’s hollow. Breathing heavily from the encounter, Yasei heaves with the last of her strength as she manages to dump both Cora and Watatsumi on the ground in front of her.

Watatsumi is still breathing heavily, his veins pronounced and bulging with a green hue. The druid has appeared quietly and stealthily. He looks down at you with dissappointment and shakes his head, clicking his tounge. “You returned, failing my request. I still sense a heavy arachnid presence within those webs. The little one will have a few days in it at best.” He says, before walking behind a tree, vanishing.

You are all currently located in the spidersilk woods. It is dark, hard to tell what time it is, but you estimate it to be around late afternoon. What are your plans moving forward?

- find iut what the hell Aerik was talking about

- camp here for the night

-travel out of the woods and camp

- track down whatever is oozing the purple goo

- whatever else you can think of :p

Yasei will pull out the venom healing disc that the druid gave each of them, and try to use it on Watatsumi (not sure how you 'use' it?  Is there a liquid inside it?).  She will then proceed to pull out all her camping equipment (tent, etc.) and set it up in the woods near the mouth of the camp.  Finally, she'll grab her hunting trap and set it up, hidden, right within the mouth of the cave they just came out of (that should protect them in case Mr. Spider comes down the water spout for a visit).

Yasei has a Potion of Healing, and will offer it to Rosli.
