Orien catches the attention of both Mia and Lethira while sniffing and grinding away at minty herbs and bitter roots, he explains his intentions to create healing syrup and with their help he could create more… seems Orien will be busy for awhile.
*Okay. If it comes down to “Mia whacks someone on the head with a sack of coins,” let me know how heavy that particular sack is so I can determine improvised damage*
*Given what Bananer said in the private chat, I presume Kayn will catch up with the group; perhaps sometime during the lunch hour while the group is resting. The campsite is only about 12-13 miles from town, and the party is only going three MPH, so he likely meets up with the group either during lunch or just before sup-time when the party has stopped for the night, about 24-25 miles from Cairdell.*

Orien talks with Joe about a goodberry ale he has been praying and trying to perfect… with Joe’s help the future crafted brew might carry Joe’s name…
persuasion (rolled with advantage- offered a small sample) still only rolled a 7 (must’ve lost its magic)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Joe pauses his conversation with Rutrow and takes the proffered jug. He sniffs the mysterious liquid, then downs it without a second thought.
(Rolling luck for taste) 9
*stupid dice roller: the number was 15. It might not be magical, but its flavor still remains*
”Hmm,” he says. “It’s not bad; it just doesn’t quite have the zing I was expecting. Here”—he gives Orien a handful of crushed dried berries—“these might help. I warn you, though, not too many. They might make one a bit tipsy.”
These berries are small and purple-indigo, but nothing like anything Orien has encountered. They can’t be juiced, but they can be powdered and reconstituted with water

Orien continues to combine refine and reduce his syrup…

“Not if Balthazar has anything to say about it,” Joe replies with a snicker. He returns to his conversation with Rutrow; glancing at the sky and commenting offhandedly, “We can probably stay another 15 minutes before we have to keep going.”

Rutrow, says, "15 minutes? Well I need to complete a few things before I hope back on the wagon, if you don't mind we can continue talking at the next stop." Rutrow steps behind a bush/tree/back to the party and a few minutes later heads to the back of the wagon with time to spare.
Taking one last look around when he stops Precepation 14
Rutrow perceives that the time is about 1 HS (hour of setting) and the sun will be below the horizon in about 6 hours. He notices that Joe has pulled out a wand and is examining it, as for damage. It is simple wood, with a small red gem set onto one tip, and almost a dozen tiny blue gems set in a row on the side. He deduces that it’s a magical weapon of some kind.
*Joe doesn’t plan on traveling for too much more than 4 hours, which leaves Orien plenty of time for foraging for herbs and such before nightfall, and for Kayn to catch up; perhaps Joe senses that he’s still interested in the job*
