Astrid, still sitting on Lythril's shoulder, physically cranks his head over to the direction where the bad guys are laying it wait...."Over there, silly bean!" she whispers in his ears.
She'll then hop down, and scoot over to the crates (the other side of which the bad guys are hiding behind) (Stealth: 13), and ready her daggers.
CHAPTER ONE - A FRIEND IN NEED PART FOUR - MYSTERY WAREHOUSE WE'RE NOT ALONE...AND I STUBBED MY TOE.
Ok, lots going on here. Here we go. This part of the chapter is more NARRATIVE than COMBAT, so bear with me while I describe what happens.
ASTRID: While on Lythril's shoulder, which is quite round and well developed - good job with those gains - you can see that about five of the dead bodies are all wearing leather armor with black tattoos of a winged snake on their necks. The other dead bodies have tattoos that looks like a circle with ten spokes radiating out from its circumference.
AZRAEL: As your booming voice is heard throughout the warehouse, two bird like humanoids - Kenku - bolt for the door you guys came through, completely spooked.
DANITRIEL:18, 4, 4, 4 LOL! Wow. All Kenku are visible now. The one that made the saving throw is one of the one running for the door you guys came through.
The two Kenku who did NOT make a break for it, drop their weapons and surrender. They're in over their beaks. The two Kenku who ARE making a break for it, you all may make opportunity attacks on them, or may do something more creative to stop them - otherwise, they get away. Use your imagination, but they will not stop and fight.
Azrael I would walk up to the two who it's surrendered towering over them mightily. He would then ask them both
" can you speak my language?" Asking it in all of his various tongues in case one of them would stick but hoping they understood common.
Then he would say if they did understand one of the languages.
" if you answer my questions and the questions of my colleagues, I can promise at least that 'I' will not harm you. And I promise this to you in the Holy Name of Bahamut. Firstly, what were you doing here? Why are those corpses on the wall? If you didn't do it then who did? And are you aware of anyone fitting this description..." giving them the description of the person they were looking for for fat cat.
" and is there anyone other than yourselves that we should know about in here?"
With a grunt Leon hops off the crate and heads to block the entrance of the door, slamming the butt of his quarter staff on the floor at an attempt to scare the kenku. The half-elf glowers down at them with furrowed brows as he stands at the entrance that he assumed they were planning to run to like their comrades. In case any of them try to run, he is going to ready himself for it.
”We should tie them up.” He suggests, not breaking eye contact. “Before we head to where they say, we should turn them in, get more rewards from the guard or...” Leon tilts his head slightly. “Get them to lead us to their said boss to deter their friends from trying to do anything funny.”
I do hope that the pretty boy they speak of is Fatcat’s friend...

Azrael stamps his foot down, saying One last question then. Is 'Pretty Boy' in the backroom here or in the sewers? if you answer me this, you are free to go, unharmed. I promise this is the last question I will ask you.
After they either answer, or attempt to flee, in which he keeps his promise not to harm them, he would see the rest of his group doing what would seem like pig wrestling with the two who had attempted to escape prior. Thinking to himself, in jest, though it was written easily on his face Atleast they can all stealth!
After that, he would walk up to the murdered black agents, rifling their pockets, and inspecting their armor to see if he could find any additional clues, or perhaps anything of particular value on them such as special gear, weapons, other items in general. Inviting any who wished to join him to do so as well, or to check for any 'backrooms' if the kenku had answered him in the positive.
he knew his delay here with the corpses would likely upset FC but it was a risk he was willing to take. He had garnered information, and agents of a network so large would likely have something.. or not who knows.
(not sure if I need to roll anything)
Azrael did not interfere if the others did anythign to the Kenku.. afterall, he'd kept his word.
Astrid will stride over (walking like she's the most important person in the place), walk up to the group of three gang members, and then kick one of them in the legs. In a commanding voice: "Yeah, listen to the man! Where's the pretty boy? ANSWER!" (Intimidation: 9).
Since that obviously has no impact on them, she'll take one of her daggers, spin it in the air, catching it and then stabbing down into one of the prisoner's feet, stopping a mere centimeter from actually puncturing the skin and going in. (Performance: 1) (Intimidation: 6).
Astrid, just shakes her head in disgust, sheaves her daggers, spins around and stomps off towards the stairs leading up to the second floor.
I think FC makes his presence known and hides half his face in the shadows. He makes only the smallest amount of himself visible in the light from outside and watches his team interrogate the kenku and scout the area. He makes his eyes glow a deep, blood red with Thamaturgy and glares directly at the kenku, making them feel like his eyes bore into their minds.
CHAPTER ONE - A FRIEND IN NEED PART FOUR - MYSTERY WAREHOUSE OH SNAP IT'S THE FIVE OH.
Azrael, the Kenku who surrendered point to a small closet on the first floor. Its on the first floor map, on the north wall.
When they see Astrid they startle, stare at her curiously, and after you storm off upstairs, they look at each other as if they both didn't believe what they just saw, but in a humorous way.
Leon, as you stand by the door with a glare, the Kenku stops, raises its hands. For a moment, you can hear footsteps outside. Suddenly, a blade out of the darkness shoots out with lightning speed and the Kenku’s head get pierced through its skull by a short sword.
A woman, the female investigator from down the street, steps out from the shadows, along with a number of City Watch and the male investigator walking up towards the main door. She "gently" pushes Leon aside with the bloody sword and they all enter the first floor. She looks at the dead bodies and the Kenku. Looking at the male investigator with a "I told you so", she says. "Dead Zhent and Xanathar thugs. And the Kenku, look." she points to one of the birdmen. "Xanathar's men. We're close." The one named Calloway nods and starts jotting down notes. They both ignore you all, but one of the city watch officers says,
”City Watch! Alright everyone. Thank you for your assistance. We’ll take it from here. Move along, now.”
Azrael, you can heard excited muffled movement coming from the closet the Kenku pointed to.
CHAPTER ONE - A FRIEND IN NEED PART FOUR - MYSTERY WAREHOUSE OH SNAP IT'S THE FIVE OH.
ASTRID and PHERAL: The open second level is stacked with crates where it overlooks the main warehouse. There are crates filled with all sorts of junk, including moth-eaten bolts of cloth, bottles of spoiled olive oil, and hundreds of pairs of wooden-soled sandals that were all the rage last summer but are now out of fashion. None of this junk is valuable.
It is probably only a matter of time before the investigators and the city watch find you guys upstairs. The balcony is wide open.
Astrid, noticing that Crispy and the popo showed up, quickly rummages around in her pack, pulling out her press credentials (“The Daily Waterdeep”), pins them to her hat, and confidently and purposefully walks down the stairs. Walking up to Crispy, she winks and says out loud so the rest will hear “Looks like another gang related attack, Fraulein Crispy. We have reason to believe that there is an associated kidnapping as well. Are you willing to give a statement on what you’ve found?”
CHAPTER ONE - A FRIEND IN NEED PART FOUR - MYSTERY WAREHOUSE ASTRID AND PERKINS
"A statement?" she says loudly as she notices you walking up to her. "PFFFh. Yeah, I got a statement. This shit is way below my pay grade, but that's what I get as disciplinary action. Oh, and you clowns are now trespassing on a crime scene. Finally, yikes, where did you get that hat?"
She kneels down to your ear level, lowering her voice. "What are you doing hanging out with these freakshows? The violence between the Zhents and Xanathar are really heating up. You could get hurt. Hells, take off that hat, I can barely see your face. It doesn't even fit you. And no, I don't know anything about a kidnapping. We've just been put up on cleanup duty. Aerik isn't too thrilled about it, but it brings him joy to see me upset and annoyed. You know? My typical state?"
The male investigator smiles and leans into Perkins, saying"Who the hell is this, is why is her hair pink?" Perkins loudly moans and rolls her head back in his direction, "Shut the **** up, Aerik. She's a friend." "Yoouuuu don't have any of those.."He teases her, watching her face get a deep red. "ALRIGHT EVERYONE WRAP UP AND GET OUT!" She shouts, making hand gestures to the City Watch to escort all of you out in one minute.
Azrael, you better hurry and check out that closet.
Updating “soon”!!

As you approach them, they both give you a "oh crap" kind of look and hold their talons up. Or hands.
They nod yes, they can understand. This is what they say. In a deep voice with an orcish accent: “Xanathar sends its regards..."
The other one says in a thin, nasally voice: “Tie up the pretty boy in the back room!” and “Follow the yellow signs in the sewers.”
The last one speaks one last time in a scratchy voice: “No time to loot the place. Just get him to the boss.”
This is all they know, or are willing to tell you. The look towards the door, eager to escape.
