It sounds like two men arguing about how to barricade a door properly. Sounds like they’ve done some work, but have run into creative differences. They do not sound like they’re in front of the door your ear is to, more like the other door on the map of the next room.
PHERAL: You narrowly miss kicking over some debris, careful!

"Hide!!! Ambush!" FC whispers horsely. He backs up against the wall and says out loud, in his best goblin accent using Thaumaturgy the best he can to add a crackle to his voice;
"Yas better come out here! Check this out!" Performance: 16 or Deception: 9

Azrael would whisper-ask Astrid Which direction is the door? Guide my nose, and I shall follow through with my own spell. Then to the rest And perhaps we should kill one, and interrogate the other.. there may be something of value we would otherwise miss, or perhaps even make finding Floon easier, and then kill him too.
Regardless using Astrid's directional help, Azrael would set himself facing directly towards the door, about 15 feet away, and Ready his Lightning Lure.
Waiting till the door was fully open, and immediately launching it at the front-man.
Since we're technically about to surprise them, but I'm at disadvantage, I'm going to roll all 3 types of roll, advantage, disadvantage, and neither, and you take the roll that's appropriate!
ADV-Attack: 22 Damage: 1

CHAPTER ONE - A FRIEND IN NEED PART FIVE - THE GUILD HIDEOUT YOU'RE NOT TURDFLAP!!
After some annoyed muttering on the other side, the door swings wide open. A human male, the same one from The Yawning Portal that punched Yagra the insanely huge half-orc, and a duergar dwarf, come walking into the room. "What t-!"The duergar cries out when he sees you all,"You're not Turdflap..!?"
Caught completely by surprise, you each get one free turn before initiative proper begins.

PHERAL: Weather it was the darkness, your position, or the anticipation, both of your swings go wild, and both bandit shake and twitch in a huge startle as the swings go way over their heads. But it was enough for Azrael's lightning lash spell to grab the Duergar.
AZRAEL: Your spell crackles to life, whipping out grabbing the Duergar. It makes it's STR save: 19 He takes damage but isn't pulled.

Danitriel's True Strike goes off and suddenly in her mind the magic whispers to her, revealing Krenz' fighting style, it's weaknesses, his habitual strikes and parries and how to get past his guard. Her fingers tingle with confidence and sureness around the hilt of her blade. She moves into position to be ready to make a melee attack on him.
My attack on Krenz the next round is made with advantage.
Edit: since that'll probably happen while I'm snoozing in .au time I'll roll it now and it can be slotted into initiative.
Danitriel attempts to listen in to the conversation.

Lythril backs a few paces, braces her shoulder against her shield and runs full tilt into the door!

THUD!
Lythril's stout dwarven frame slams into the door, but not enough to brake it down.
A voice from the other end could be heard.
"'Ey! Turdflap? Is that you? Stupid goblin, the door's unlocked!"
Danitriel mouths "Turdflap?" to the others and her shoulders shake in silent laughter.
Whats the plan? do we jump em or avoid em? Sounds like they are are at the far end of the room. Pheral whispers to the group.

Azrael only mildly frustrated that his tug hadn't quite worked, tries it one more time, determined to pull the Duergar over, and 'interrogate' him.
Azrael whispers out the words of his spell once more, as he again uses Lightning Lure saying, as softly as possible....
