OOC: Yeah, they have no hope of really catching up with you, you sneaky rogue you.
Tangle:
Tangle manages to outrun the fight that was brewing, the first latter leads you up on the edge of town and it takes you 45 minutes to navigate back the Mermaids tears.
The Group:
After a little more then an hour you watch as Tangle stumbles into the bar, unharmed but now carrying a fairly potent smell.
Perry: Its been a really long time since you've seen Tangle after she went into the sewers. The guard, after finishing his task, has left the area.
The sky has begun to grow darker as the sun starts to set.
( For people who are interested it is early spring(march) in the land of Terria.)
Perry nervously makes his way to the bar where he know the others are after a long time of waiting. He bursts through the door and says very loudly to the crowd in the room, "She's takin' too long! We better go af..." Upon catching sight, or smell, of Tangle, he immediately calms down. "Oh."
He heavily throws himself in a chair next to the others.

Tangle scans the room and finds the others, making her way to them. With little preamble, she launches into her story.
"There is a nest of goblins operating under the town. I followed them through the sewers," she wrinkles her nose at her stench, "a long way, out of town. They discovered me at the end, but I escaped without harm, and without doing them harm. They are simple creatures guided by malice and greed, I believe they will proceed with their plans, and we can catch them in the midst of it. Whatever they are set to do, it will be an evil act. It is near nightfall, and we should move quickly."
At which point Perry makes his entrance?
Tangle smiles at him, and glances about, taking in Barbara's neglected guard, "We should send a guard to the temple, to let the priestess know, but there is no time to waste running errands. I can show you where the tunnel comes up outside of town. It is not as... fetid at that point."
"Zephyr'll take 'em the message if ya want. Jus' write a letter 'n' she'll carry it to tha' priestess like her crow did. I can summon her back later so she don' need ta know where we are." He glances over at the guard. "I don' trust 'em. At worst ther' in on it. At best ther' jus' really bad a' ther' job... Anyway, think I missed some'n. Whatcha find down there?"
He takes the little bird off his shoulder and places it gently on the table. Zephyr twitters excitedly and hops over to tangle and locks her big amber eyes on her expectantly.
[OOC: Anyone remember Pigwidgeon from Harry Potter? That's how I'm thinking Zephyr is.]
Tangle crouches and coos at Zephyr for a little longer than seems normal, mixing in some words in Sylvan, then looks up. “I have no marking stick nor page, and besides, though I have studied it, I do not write your common tongue easily.”

Barbara has drank herself into a light glow. She has been enjoying herself, the distant familiarity of city life mixed with her long term solitude allowed her to cut loose a little. After all, she was only waiting for fireworks and then for dawn to break before her departure. She was having fun with her new friends and the other patrons. She engages in some arm wrestling with someone in the bar hoping to win some coin.

Upon seeing Tangle enter the Tavern "Oh shit! Wr'the hell ya been!?"
With Perry's entrance, "Olivia! two more drinks on me. What do I owe ya after this afternoon?"
"Any word Fenny? How'bout you Orc-They-Call-Pup? Drum up any clues?" Barb plays her hands like drums against the bar table at a quick tempo.
Perry chuckles and gets to work cleaning Tangle's clothes. He murmers softly to himself as he casts prestidigitation over and over again while pointing at various spots on Tangle. Within a minute or two, she is clean and smells faintly of fresh spring rain. The pleasant smell should persist for about an hour.
"Useful spell that. Lights fires an' heats rocks ta put under my bedroll on cold nights. My food always tastes good no matter what it is. Marks paths so people I'm guidin' don' ge' lost or stumble into dangers." Perry says this to his owl after he sits back down.

Olivia is able to give you some paper and a quill. One of you manages to write out a brief letter explaining the situation and send it off via Zephyr to the High Priestess.
Do you all want to do anything while you wait for a reply? (For convenience I'll say that Zephyr will be able to easily find you all if you want to travel somewhere.)
Tangle sighs appreciatively at being clean. “I saw no tiefling in the tunnels, just cloaked goblins. We should go, lest they plan to disrupt the fireworks.” She stands ready.

Barbara gives Perry a light punch to the arm. "Where I'm from, healing is what's done AFTER the fight."
Looking around the group, "Well how long till the fireworks? Should we let the guard boy know of the situation? He might be eager to redeem himself after abandoning his post earlier."
In the note to the priestess, Tangle described the location of the tunnel exit she took, and the approximate location of the last part of the tunnel she saw (so, "southeast of town 30 min walking" or something) and tells her that we will try to flush the tunnels out. Also, she notes to the priestess the series of markings in the tunnels, and that some tunnel entrances may be trapped.
To the group, "The ladders up from the sewers were marked with crude words, "Safe" and "Blam" among them. I thinking, it may be that the ones marked "Blam" may be trapped, perhaps with fireworks? They make a sound like that when they are trigged, no?"
Tangle would like to lead the group out of town to the ladder from which she escaped, as quickly as she can. She will go down first, to check for tracks (to ascertain if the goblins passed back that way towards the town after she left) and if they have not, she will lead the party towards the last place she saw the goblins.

After about ten minutes of discussing what you all will do, Zephyr returns to Perry's shoulder with a small note clutched in her beak that bears the seal of the High Priestess.
The note reads:
Hello friends,
I was sitting down filling out some paper work when this strange bird flew into my office! It gave me quite the fright, it did. I was about to shoo it out until it gave me a note. I'll admit an owl flying through a window and dropping a letter right in front of me made me feel rather special. Like I was going to be some kind of chosen one for some grand adventure in a far land!
Sadly it was only you all. I mean don't get me wrong its still nice to get mail, but back to the matter on hand.
Thank you all for alerting me to this matter, I will consult with the guard captain right away and see if the sewers can be investigated. I find it odd however that goblins would be in the sewers, they' can be nasty but I think even they have their limits. Curious buggers. I do believe that recently one has been arrested and is sitting in the Boardhouse. Mayhaps they can shed some light on things. I'd ask you all to leave this to them, but I have the feeling you One thing I'd ask you all to do is to be careful. The guards take these warnings very seriously and if they do not find evidence, it is likely they will try to find my informant to punish them for false claims. I'll keep my mouth shut, but I am willing to trust you all.
Remember. Be Careful. I may be a priestess of the dead, but that does not mean I enjoy senseless death.
- High Priestess Narcessca
P.S. I let the bird take some cookies back with her. I hope you all enjoy them.
As you finish reading the note you notice that Zephyr finishes chewing on something before swallowing. Globs of raspberry sauce stick to her feathers.
That is, of course, if she manages to disengage from this fight. If she doesn't, well, we'll discuss that then. First step, Fey Step behind the dudes and run.
