Mellow racks his brain to come up with some bit of lore or encounter with what Yuki described but comes up empty. 

"An intellect devourer ... perhaps.  Either way, it does not sound 'good' for us or the flora and fauna in this area."

Pip peeks around and looks at the thing, considering.  He consults his notebook for a moment and eyes the features of the being.  “That is a good guess, I’ve read about such things.  Hmm, let me consider…”

 To Pips astonishment this is much too large for that, it seems to expand and contract like a lung instead of air it is drawing and discharging water however.  It does resemble a brain perhaps a coral like surface and the polluted water is definitely coming from this thing…

A flash of brilliant starlight streaks across the cavern, searing into the throbbing, unnatural mass of the brain-like bulk.

To Hit:  14     Dmg: 9 pt radiant

The bolt slams into the cerebrum-like folds of the monstrosity with a crackling, celestial roar. Rather than a dull thud, the spell's radiant energy boils through the aberrant tissues. Spores and wet, corrupted tissue erupt in a dazzling, fiery hiss as the light burns through its spongy mass.  

Where the bolt struck, the creature's ?flesh? does not just smolder — it sparkles. A persistent, guiding luminescence clings tightly to the thing's contours, tracing it's shape in the darkness.  This radiant marker makes the monstrosity impossibly easy for all allies to track (and attack!).

Mellow nods as he ducks back around the corner.

Perception Check:  Dirty 20 <<<  for trying to discen if it is animal, vegetable, or mineral by the result of the bolt.

It is a very alien plant and where you blast into it, it gushes a snotty yellow that coats its missing area…

(( OOC:  Players note - until it comes around to Mellow's turn again, all attacks are 'at advantage' thanks to the guiding bolt 'glow' it tags the target with.  ))

Yuki goes around the corner and casts Toll the Dead.

WIS save 13 or take 12 necrotic damage.

Katarina hurls a handaxe at the thing.

Charles casts Chill Touch on it, Attack: 21 Damage: 6 

The bell tolls, the axe disappears inside the ‘soft’ fleshy pulp, and the chill touch actually causes a convulsion the snotty discharge was flowing over injured areas but when the necrotically charged fingers of chill touch take hold the snot turns into a metallic fluid which converges and comes straight for Charles…

It slops a pseudopod at Charles missing but not by much…

Pip backpedals a bit, shocked by what he sees, and finds that he’s against a wall.  Reflexively, his hands shoot up in position to fire a fire bolt at the thing.  His aim is true.  

Fire bolt the alien looking ooze : (Nat 20!) 25 to hit, for 10 points of fire damage.  

Pip engulfs the ooze with fire it shows no sign of injury, though there is a strong smell and steam rising off of it.

Again a gooey limb clubs at Charle’s heat emanating off of it-  roll an Intelligence save DC 10 vs 16 psychic damage!

Everyone's turn (not overly concerned about turn order just no double turns per round)

Bearington is in a defensive posture waiting to see what happens with this little blob, a little intimidated to be honest.

Xolan is sticking close to Katrina he has both daggers out but like Bearington is watching to see what happens, even sliding closer to the shadowy wall for a stealthy maneuver if possible, Stealth 20 so yes he blends into the surroundings.

Yuki will cast Toll the Dead on the blob.

WIS 13 or 10 necrotic damage.

Charles save: 16

Charles uses chill touch again Attack: 22 Damage: 2
