((Agree, if we could convince Sir Bearington to attack the thing, that would be dandy!))
Pip really has no idea what to do, he hasn't run into one of these creatures in person or in a book, so he keeps shooting fire at it and hopes that it eventually starts to burn.
Fire bolt : (Nat 20!) 25 to hit, for 10points of fire damage.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Mellow grunts as he tried to shield slam the bulky blob. Disengaging, he notes how Bearington is reluctant to touch the oozing blob. 'Smart bear. It senses it's wrongness.'
Taking that bear hint, Mellow moves further back toward the party and puts his mace and shield aside and takes up his light crossbow.
Katrina hits with her axe, Suri's frostbite appears to slow the things reactions, Pip hits with his signature fiery blast... It shatters to the ground in pieces which sizzle and steam... Bearington growls and paws at a puddle gouging it into the dirt.
The larger mass of coral/brain tissue remains however you soon discover it is basically helpless and with a little persistence it is destroyed.
Bearington is sickly as is Xolan, and there are areas still unexplored what would the party like to do at this point? Everyone may long rest and level up the immediate threats are dealt with.

Bearington is fighting an infection he needs treatment (a medicine challenge 3 checks averaging better then 12 over a 24hr period, may be rolled with advantage if helped or a nature check DC 10 is rolled first.). Xolan is not poisoned or diseased as far as your spell can tell, he just had a near death experience being swallowed and is reacting to his experiences. As for everyone's advancements so far everything looks good. I may take a couple days to plan a connection to continue this adventure, however I do intend to keep it going if your all on board for more. Thanks.
I will also continue the exploration of this cavernous area or summarize if the party prefers...
lesser restoration ends a condition not a disease, not even sure if a disease is defined in 2024 rules or not the older version lesser restoration specifically said it ends disease. I feel like it is a better bonding opportunity and role-play scenario to try and heal him with the challenge, you can certainly roll with advantage using the spell in conjunction with the treatment.

Author Note: This is not meant for the players to use, this is something the DM gives to an NPC. Mostly because balance was not a factor put into this spell, also the spell is based on X's powers from "To be hero X".
You snap your fingers and manipulate reality itself in a variety of astonishing ways, this spell can be cast as both a bonus action or reaction and any damage dealt by the spell is 2d10 + the caster's spellcasting modifier. Choose two effects:
Dimensional Flicker: Instantly teleport yourself, and up to 20 creatures up to 60 ft to an unoccupied space you can see, passing through alternate planar realities during the shift. Creatures targeted fall as if they were ghosts slipping through the veil between dimensions. Any unwilling creature must make a Wisdom saving throw. The saving throw is equal to the caster's spell saving throw DC + 4.
2D Transformation: Flatten a creature or object within 60 ft into a 2D paper-thin form, rendering them restrained and vulnerable to being folded, bent, or twisted until they succeed on a Strength saving throw or the effect ends at 1 minute. The saving throw is equal to the caster's spell saving throw DC + 4.
Reality Sculpt: Transform a nonmagical object or terrain feature up to 30 feet in size, reshaping, folding, or converting it into another form (like turning a truck into a sword, or a wall into a racket). Lasts 10 minutes or until dismissed.
Shadow Flatten: Up to 6 creatures within 60 ft is turned into a shadow on a surface, incapacitated and petrified for 10 minutes.
Battlespace Creation: Create a 30 ft radius bubble around you that exists partially in 2D and 3D space. Within this bubble, no damage can occur to the outside world.

Before taking the long rest, Mellow will perform a ritual >> Detect Poison and Disease to determine just what it is Bearington is being harmed by.
And, since it is an area 'detect', perhaps it may shed some light on our frog skin wearing party member?

(( I built Mellow under 5.0/2014. Are we supposed to be bumping up to 5.5/2024? ))
(( Asking since there are a couple spells (like lesser restoration) that got modified in the change. ))
It would be preferred to use 2024 rules. It’s okay to use 2014 for content that didn’t get updated.
