Pip walks over to Mellow and says “Yes, I do, we need to clear it from this stream to eliminate the poison and taint from the water.” He begins to make a small device that he places over near the coral thing, creating his artifact that repeatedly prestidigitation burns the coral, and while it is doing so, he repeatedly casts fire bolt to burn it away with fire…

The fire burns away the pollution once the coral is burned away in the ashes you see a bowling ball sized orb it is shiny like mercury.
