Looking at the creature, Gideon takes a deep breath an exhales slowly, "If this is the will of Dastrun, then so be it." Wiping away the blood from Burning Talon, Gideon slides the sword back into its sheath. "However...." Gideon reached behind his back and pulled out a shortsword, "It was your......men, that attacked my companion. Therefore the blame for this attack falls to you." He holds the sword out in front of him, glaring at Yaktar.
"You must learn the lesson of this failure and strike yourself. Once in the gut and another in the neck. For the damages you have cause my friend Dastrun. If you do, all will be forgiven, if not then you will forfeit your life."
The look of total focus is seen in Gideons face, there will be no negotiating , the choice is left to Yaktar.

Chance approached and listened to the words that Yaktar spoke. He pondered those words, how they were said. To see if he could find some insight.
"I think we ought to listen to some more of what Yaktar has to say, I believe that I may have some understanding of this, honor is not a set of arbitrary rules imposed by one group. It is a practice of fairness, integrity and of self discipline. Not of imposition, let all differences be set aside and truth be said".
"Obviously, if he is attempting to dissemble, to cheat and deceive us then what Gideon has said is right".
It is clear to Chance that Yaktar speaks the truth. Turning to Gideon, he speaks again. "Your ideas are strange and foolish, and I'll certainly not do what an animal tells me. I'll not willingly strike myself for acting in proactive self-defence, either. All but the last of the human's words are true. What would you like to know?"

"Hmm, this is conflicting, I wish to talk to your leader to get to the bottom of everything, the town has painted you as savages who steal and kidnap" Dastrun explains. He then turns to his allies. "I wish for all of you to put aside all I'll feelings, and think of your honor, how will you stand to look your friends and family in the eyes knowing you have killed innocent people simply because you were to hard headed, and believed everything you were told" he says this in a grave tone, speaking from experience, "You have a choice, to forgive as I have, and I have the most reason to not, or to kill an inocent."
As the party argued over Yaktar's fate, Valen stepped forward. Drawing his rapier, he angled it toward's Yaktar's neck. "I don't sense any lies in his words. However," he directed his words toward the Kobold. "You will fulfill my friend here's request of taking us to your leader. And if-" Valen's voice cracked at this next part. "-you lead us into a trap, I will not hesitate to exterminate you." Recovering, Valen sheathed his blade and walked off a bit of a ways, somewhat embarrassed. He muttered to himself, "I hope he understands that by 'you' I mean his clan or whatever."
Seeing that Yaktar had made his decision, Gideon closed his eyes and dropped both hands to his side. Then as quick as lightening he took the shortsword and struck Yaktar on the tricep of the left arm! As Yaktar is bleeding on the ground Gideon walks away. Looking forward he says to Dastrun, "Only by your mercy was this creature allowed to live. Know that it shall not happen again." With that he walked a short distance behind the group.
Yaktar stands tall, the bleeding seemingly causing him no pain, only damage. "Allowed to live? The beast is dafter then I thought. He is the one allowed to live by the minotaur's mercy. He killed my brother. Yet I am not gutting him on the spot am I? He is the one with dishonour, he who carries the Talon of Terr."
"ENOUGH" Dastrun suddenly yells "SET YOUR PITTIFUL EXCUSES FOR HONOR ASIDE, IT IS BY MY MERCY THAT MANY LIVE, BE LUCKY THAT BOTH OF YOU ARE BEING SHOWN IT." Taking deep breaths, Dastrun's voice returns to normal, "Now, there are apologies that need to be exchanged, from everyone. Including myself. I ask you Sol, what would father dragon think of killing innocents who merley want to survive in peace. And you Gideon you speak of honor, but you strike an unarmed man who's brother was slain before him, all because of a misunderstanding. I beg all of you, to heed my words, innocent blood is something you don't want on your soul. I know that well enough."
Valen, hearing Dastrun's outburst, returned to the group. "Heed Dastrun's words, friends. I have made my stance on the matter clear; should this Yaktar's words prove true, we will not harm him in any way further- but if he should false, I will take it upon myself to remove his head from his shoulders. As I will with anyone else who interferes."
Soolaire is astonished. How has this viper's poison spread so quickly amongst my allies? It's treachery is so clear, thanks to the Father-Dragon's blessing. At a lost for words, he only watches in silence as the snake's venom slowly breaks apart those whom he had only recently come to understand and appreciate. This is why you can only be at one with the Ishahru, Soolaire. Do not forget that fact any longer. Cursing to himself in Primordial, he slows his breathing down. Focus. "We are fools for letting this snake live. I will not allow myself to be bite and feel its poison as you all certainly have. If it is your wish for misplaced mercy, then so be it. The Father-Dragon still wills me to continue, and for that I shall remain."
His sunfangs remain fully active, even though the fire in his veins and hair has died down. He takes several paces back, 15 feet to be exact, giving the kobold a clear path of retreat.
"You cannot be reasoned with, Dastrun. Your volatility is past the Father-Dragon's light itself. Your emotions are like a delicate leaf that blows in the wind." He illustrates his point by picking up a leaf from the ground and tossing it into the air, as the breeze takes it wherever it wills. "You have no control over where you go. You threaten me when I innocently call your distant relatives free-roaming herd animals, and yet get on your knees and beg for mercy from a demon such as this who put two arrows right into your chest. Open your eyes, raithkunjin, and see what is happening before you." He turns heel and walks off into the forest, disappearing into the foliage.
Dastrun heaves a deep breath "SOOOOOOL, IF YOU CLAIM THAT I HAVE THE INCAPABILITY TO REASON, THEN STAY HERE AND EXPLAIN, DON'T STOP OFF AND SULK LIKE A CHILD" he yells as loud as he can. He then looks at his allies "Don't attack him, and make sure his wounds are treated". He then quickly follows after Sol.
After Dastrun leaves, Gideon drops to the ground sitting down. His wounds starting to take a toll on him. Looking at his sword, he calls over to the kobold, "Why did you call this Talon of Terr?"

"I call it the Talon of Terr because that is it's name, unless it is a very good replica. Don't tell me that you humans lost its name and the tale of the blade's history?"
Yaktar still standing, pulls a small piece of cloth from his pocket and starts rubbing the blood away from his arm wound.

The Talon of Terr? I've definitely heard about that before. The question is where... Valen suddenly remembered. "The Talon of Terr was a gift, right? From the dragons." He thought about it a little more. Something about a curse? Maybe? Valen frowned. It doesn't seem to be affecting Gideon, at least. "Gideon, how did you get it?" Valen was suddenly very interested in his party member. This could be bad or good.If this starts becoming an issue, I'll tell him.
"Yes, it was given to the kobolds of a neighbouring country thousands of years ago. Then a tribe of humans stole it and claimed that they were the people the dragons intended it for. I don't know if your friend is from the same tribe or another, but he seems to have the Talon."
