"Do you know what the blade is made out of? It's not Iron or steel, as the colouration should tell you. The stories us kobolds are told tell us -"
Before Yaktar can finish his sentence, a Displacer Beast leaps out of a nearby bush and bites him. In the same instant that the beast bites him, however, he moves with lightning speed and drives Kayar's spear through its heart. As he starts to lose his grip on the spear, he suddenly grips it tighter, snapping the handle. A strange light seems to flow from the broken spear towards Yaktar, and all his wounds start to mend, though he seems to be becoming more and more transparent by the second.
His final words as he completely vanishes are, "Well, the prophesy did say that I would leave the world this day..."

Dastrun, still angry at Sol for seemingly disappearing, stomps back into the clearing. Seeing the corpse of a beast and no Yaktar, he insantly glares at his allies, "What happened here" he demands.
Valen concentrated on the spot where Yaktar last lay. One hand on his spellbook, he reached out, trying to feel the tendrils of the Weave in the area around them. "Interesting," he muttered. Relaxing his mind, Valen turned to Dastrun. "I believe it's some sort of planar travel. Definitely from that spear he had. I'm not sure where he is, or what caused him to go there, but he is most likely alive. Rest easy, my friend. The prophecy isn't too big of an issue, since the wording didn't mean he would die. But that thing-" Valen pointed at the Displacer Beast. "-is. I don't think it should be as easy to kill as Yaktar made it look."
Both threats were gone, one killed by a spear and the other disappeared. Another trouble for another time. Gideon thought to himself. Seeing that Dastrun had returned, he looked around then to Dastrun asked, "Did you catch up to Soolaire?" Picking himself up with some difficulty for his wounds still causing him pain Gideon walked nearer to his companions.

Dastrun shook his head, "No, the pigheaded intolerant flame man ran away into the woods, all because he can't see that we were in the wrong. That we slaughtered innocents, that I did it again" he ended with his head hung low. He begins collecting all the weapons, and will try to make something to help with the bodies.
"I'll go after Soolaire. We've been asked to do this by Mayor Gulan, but the Kobolds have given us different information. I think we should regroup and decide what to do from here on out. With everyone," Valen added, before setting off to find Soolaire. He needed to be alone for a bit anyways. This got far more complicated than I'd like it to be.
This group lacks discipline, much discipline. I might need to intervene if it comes to blows.
My friends, we need to keep together and not let this misunderstanding continue! Be that the Kobolds were lying and I think they did intend on killing us first, be us who attacked as hot headed as we did not offering parley as it is customary since we were trans-passing by their point of view! With a lower tone of voice now: We are all newcomers to this land and cannot start understanding its politics and nuances. We are now facing a new fact, since chance truly believes Yaktar was telling us the truth.
Dastrun goes about picking up all of the kobolds weapons, and fashions a sled out of his bedroll, sticks and 20 ft of rope. He has the rope go over his right shoulder and under his left arm. He puts the bodies in the bedroll, including the displacer beast. He signals that he is ready to go.
Seeing what Dastrun has done Gideon asks, "Dastrun, why do take the Rite of Atonement?" Seeing the look of questions written on his face, Gideon folds his arms onto themselves, "the Rite of Atonement is a task that my clan does. When a warrior feels the need to atone for something, they place all the items that lead to their evil and placed them in a bag then began the process of dragging them to their offender." Looking at the bodies Gideon goes on, "You have done nothing wrong, nor have you dishonored them or yourself. So why do you care this burdon?" A quizzical look in Gideon's eyes.

Valen found Soolaire in a glade, meditating. "Ah, here you are. I was wondering if you're going to be coming back anytime soon," Valen said, emerging into the clearing. "Or if you need more time to-" He thought about it for a second, and shook his head. I don't know if "cool off" applies to this man. "-calm down. We should be moving on soon. There is a job to be done, and we should do it to the best of our ability, with the just result for all those involved."
"Unlike you I take no right of atonement, and I consider it wrong to slay an innocent that was only trying to protect the things it loved. They wished no ill intent, only to warn us that we were getting to close, and that they were wary of us. We proved them right and were a danger to them and their families." Dastrun explains, "I may be a pirate, and I may do what I want. But one thing I would never wish upon anyone, is to see their loved one die, and not be able to protect them. To see them struck down for no reason."
While the glade was the green, the part surrounding him was grey, covered in black and white ash. His skin has white ash tracing his molten veins. Valen can hear him chanting an unknown incantation repetitively to himself in an unknown language, probably Primordial. "Such a ritual was a unique opportunity due to the scarcity of flammable materials. Here, it seems that anywhere is a good location to make sacred ground to contemplate the Father-Dragon's will." He opens his eyes, pure-white, and stands from the charred circle. His veins and head burn brightly with his final deep breath, before becoming faint.
"I am ready. I needed time to consider all the occurred. The Father-Dragon has made his will clear to me, and I must move forward to find these villagers." Walking up to Valen, you note the smell of charred meat emanating from him. "Would you care if I took point? I'm sure it took awhile to find me, and I still know the way back." With the question, he assumes his natural role as guide, and returns to the rest of the party.
Arriving just as Gideon makes mention of the Rite of Atonement, he simply shakes his head. "Are we done here? The villagers are our priority right now. Having a loved one taken away from you, and not know their fate, is worse than death, for there is still the flicker of hope that torments you." His face is solemn; lacking the joy it had the night previous.
Shrugging off Dastrun's response. Gideon noticed Soolaire's eyes did not have the same spark of life as before. Seeing that it was not the time to bring it up, Gideon left it be and gathered his things. Placing his gear in his bag, he strung it to his back, picked up his sword and was ready to move forward.

Valen sighed, and went to gather his belongings. He briefly paused, focusing on his spellbook. Sure enough, he had managed to recover the lost energy he had expended during the fight with the Kobolds. Turning to the rest of the party, he said, "I'm ready when you all are."
This group of individuals need to become a party of companions, and soon or we will surely act unjustly at some time, or again...
Friends, we have our differences, cultural and because of different upbringings, but we need to try and find common ground or we are sure to fail. Our objective is to find out the fate of the villagers missing, if Yktar said the truth we will deal with it accordingly, if not we will bring Justice to them, but to achieve this we need to be able to see throw our preconceptions and prejudices. Also, we need to take rest for a while, Dastrun, Soolaire and Guideon are hurt and if a fight emerges we will start it in disadvantage.
Seeing that Gideon is really hurt, even not being able to rest properly John goes to him and by placing his hands on him: Lord of Light, Keeper of Justice, might you fire ignite inside this noble warrior and allow his wound to be mended.Cast Cure Wounds 1d8+3 = 4 HP.
With that, John starts gathering his belongings and prepare to march, following Soolaire's guidance.
Soolaire casts down his eyes at John's request. "The Father-Dragon's will is clear to me. The villagers are our priority right now. They were taken away from their families: from their fathers and husbands; from the same community they have grown up in. While I do not trust Yaktar and his words, there is partial truth to what Dastrun said." He shifts his weight, as he examines the wounds on his skin rapidly healing from the heat. "We needn't slaughter the innocent, and we are certain to meet kobold children, and wives: those who are generally peaceful and lack the corruption found in this new sun. But the Father-Dragon has blessed me with his vision, and I see that there are lies found within both the mayor's and the kobold's stories." He nods, trusting in the Father-Dragon's wisdom and insight.
Father-Dragon, those who are guilty will be punished by my will, which is your will.
And so the group continues onwards. Only just before sun-down, they find that the Mayor had left something out of his description of the cliff, and a pretty major detail at that. The cliff face that the kobolds had built their lair into was at your feet, and you are at the top. It would be several days worth of travel to get to a natural incline. However, a new opportunity has unfolded as well - you could sneak into one of the uppermost rooms and free the villagers through the same way you came in, before you go about your business with the kobolds. Or you could just kill them all.

Taking in the view and accessing the situation John figures that if all can climb down the cliff and enter through a back door that could be a strategic advantage.
I suggest we try climbing down the face of this cliff, if you are all up to it, and if you have rope to help those not trained at this kind of activity for, if we can get to the Kobold den via a back door, we would have the tactical advantage of surprise and won't face any defensive measures head on, but by its back. Stationary defenses are hard to move on a 180 degrees in a short notice.
Waiting his companions to decide their chosen path, John decides looking for possible kobold watchers that might see them here. but none was seen (Perception 1d20+5 = 22).
Dastrun process's this and says " I agree, it would be easier to simply climb down to the villagers, with their word, we can finally find the truth about these kobolds. And deal with them respectively" Dastrun then gaze's at the cliff, wondering how many feet separate them from the rooms. He gauges about 20 feet. He takes the 30 feet left of his hemp rope and ties it off to a tree. He then turns to his allies, waiting to see what they want to do.
Gideon let this sink in for a moment. Listening to Yaktar, it was easy to see that at least the kobold believed his tale.
Gideon was not wholly convinced. Another trouble for another time. As for now, Gideon began to try to clean his wounds.
