My eyes strain from examining the rope in the low light for what feels like days. Finally, I turn to my comrades and say, "This rope is..." But before I can finish, a lizardfolk foot steps on my head and Vappa drops down to the ground next to us.
I peer around at our group. A goliath, a lizardman, a...tiefling, I think they are called, and a couple of humans. We are an unusual group.
As Barxik sweep the cave's entrance with his discerning eyes, he felt a sudden lost of strength. He musters himself when he saw his hand crumbling into dust. He tries to get help from his comrades but he staggers as he walks towards them. He sees the goliath climb down from the rope.
"Ironwall, I don't feel so good..."
The tiefling tumbles to ground as his limbs give away and succumbs to the same fate as his arms.
"I don't know what's happening. I don't want to go. Please, I don't want to go."
He sees half of him is already gone as the cold gentle breeze grazes upon his collapsing body. Barxik felt regret as he won't be able help them during their time of need. One thing only came to his mind during his last moments as he weakly says to the group.
"I'm sorry."
Silence envelopes the dark place. Barxik was no more.
I'm going to try to one up Profgenclean's awesome-movie-death-scene reference. Sorry to leave, but it doesn't look like this campaign's going to last.
Something strange has come over Emeny. She drops to her knees, but looks peaceful.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Pirate ships on fire off the coast of Orion. I watched swords glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate."
She's not making any sense. Something is wrong.
"All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."
She bends over, gently. As the Disguise Self fades, you see Emeny's human features fade away to those of an unmarked clay construct that has outlived its lifespan. A white dove flutters out of its hands and flys off into the sky.
Hey everybody really sorry. I've had a lot of stress at work and been sick. I owe you a guys a better game! I just have not had the time to jump on here and have been braindead. I feel bad but honestly just haven't been up to it. I love the characters and the interactions and would love to play again sometime. Just need to recharge for now. Once I am feeling better I'll send out some invites or try to return to this game soon.
Cheers.

A fancy way to leave this campaign.
This is perfect.
