A huge smile crosses Alvaryn's face at the mage's words, although his expression quickly turns to curiosity as Othokent refers to him and Wrex as teachers again. Turning back to the mage, the grin returning full fold once more, he says "My good friend how could I miss out on this? Of course I am going back in there to deal with these pesky blighters! You needn't have asked! It's not every day something this interesting happens in Thrusk is it now. Of course it is always useful for one to know what they are getting into before diving in, but it hasn't stopped me before!" He finishes with a wink. "Plus, we must teach dear Othokent here as the great egg bearer wishes us to!" He adds with a gentle smile in Othokents direction.
It s my duty to protect the innocent and deliver justice. I am ready to leave at once. Wrex would say, with a small nod. pulling out his shield and strapping it to his arm before drawing his mace.
"I do not know"she says looking between the pair "i feel I've been drawn here i would be stupid to turn away now" fear grew in Mazir as she stood back in the cellar, if her pain returned at the top of the stairs she would go to the creature, if not then maybe it was these two she was meant to find, within, why here why this cellar she had to take a chance and began to walk up the stairs to the alley.
”Agreed, Mikkeo. I assumed we could find the answers with a direct path, but clearly there are other steps involved.” Torgar began following Mazir up into the alley, “This isn’t going anywhere. We’ll figure this out.” The Dragonborn wasting no time to find the door of the homeowner, making sure the others were nearby, then knocking.
Mikkeo: The Marshalcy is the guard for all of the Yulen Confederacy, every town at least having an outpost. You are aware of different branches with different purposes.
Group 2: A man in a more decorated version of the blue Marshal uniform sweeps into the room, Gunthur just behind. The alabaster skinned Tiefling stops just short of the mage, the mage throwing the creature down on the floor at his feet and says but one word, "Hepzethena", before snapping his fingers, engulfing the creature with fire. The Vice-Marshal gives a nod, grabs Gunthur by the collar, nearly lifting him off of his feet. "Guards on every entrance to the Chasm, alert Thane Rusfadrur, tell none but the thane what just transpired here or I will ensure you accompany the strike team." He shoves Gunthur towards the door to the main chamber, "And quickly now."
The Vice-Marshal steps up to the mage and they whisper for a time, after which he departs. The mage turns back to the three of you, "Right, I have been instructed, me being Hawthum Skrjgjal, hello there. I have been instructed to take care of your contract and fill you in on what the hell is going on. Lets say 2,500 gold pieces?"
Alvaryn beams with excitement at the activity and call to action: "All this intrigue is most excellent Hawthum my good man. Come, tell us what you know. What is this Hepzethena you speak of?"
Wrex will nod, a smile spreading along his face... his eyes covered with cloth but they still seem to give off a very serious look. "I am ready to go when you are... My mission was Lux, and now my mission is to protect the people and deliver justice... no one said I cannot have any fun while I do it..."
Was Othokent at least allowed to take the arm/fingers as per his request for a compromise prior to the corpse being burned? And, can I try to listen in on the conversation?
There is a moment in which Othokent is struck silent by the destruction of his prey. In the next, he starts to crouch, tail lashing the air behind him as he prepared to leap at the Vice Marshall for the incident. But the low, almost crocodillian hiss that began to build up is abruptly cut off by a thought. Or could it have been an overheard word? No mater which, he uncoils a moment after, and merely stood there staring blankly at the tiefling by all appearance; even after the offer is made.

Group 1: Torgar knocks three times and the three of you are immediately greeted by an older gentleman, bespectacled and leaning on a cane, squinting through the cracked door. "Hello?" he wheezes, "The Madame is, uh, indisposed at the moment." He adjusts his bifocals for a moment and takes you all in, eyes going a bit wide.
Othokent: you do have it's fingers, and yes, roll a perception check.
Group 2: Hawthum explains to you what's going on. Hepzethena is the name of a Hag that had set up in the old Thrusk ruins before it was rebuilt, believed to have been slain all those years ago, she had only slipped into what is called The Chasm, a vast underground network of ruins that was either part of the old Thrusk or even predated it. There have been numerous attempts to route her from beneath the city, none have ever succeeded and very few made it back alive, fewer still survived their wounds, both physical and mental. It was rare for her creatures to wander so close to the surface, and Hawthum had been able to gather that this Topi had been sent, as if a forward scout. It did not bode well.
Group 2: "Three is a bit light on the numbers," He says, "Why don't we make a posting or some such, I'd say three more would be perfect for an expedition to the chasm. Oh, and come see me before you make the descent, I've got something you'll need down there." Hawthum gives you directions on how to find him, and makes to leave.
Marshal Gunthur rushes back into the room, still pale and now sweating. He pulls out another parchment and begins scrawling fervorously. He looks up at Alvaryn, "Ah, good thing you're still here. Thane requested a bounty put up for the heads of any creature stalking the sewers, first one to see it." He walks over to a bulletin board along the left side of the room and attaches the new bounty.
Othokent had started to sway at one point. The story about the Hag doesn't get him to the stop. But, he does cant his head to the sides and lean forward in interest at certain points in it. "The egg bearer liked to collect heads to... said she learned trick bugbear use to turn them into alarms."The lizardfolk says nonchalantly with what almost looked like a smile. Then, he freezes up for a moment, shakes himself, and then darts into Wrex's shadow.
"Where go now? We find other goodly hunters then as prize stealer asks?"He asks of Wrex and Alavyrn, ignoring the Marshal.

“The madame...Are you not the owner of this house? It’s very important you let us speak to whomever that might be this instant.” Torgar stood at his full height as he waited for the elderly mans response. Hands at the ready to stop the door in case the man tries to close it. “Either everyone in the house is in danger or everyone in this house is leaving the city in danger.”
The whole time Hawthum was explaining the threat Alvaryn was clearly relishing the prospect of it all, but upon the declaration that it would require a group of six his disappointment at having to wait becomes obvious right away. As Marshall Gunther returns and talks again he perks up a little, walking over to the bulletin board to look at the bounty notice. As he looks it over he says to the Marshall, with a sly grin crossing his face "Pray tell my good man, what is the Marshallcy's stance on any heads, or even entire cadavers, that have been delivered before the notice had been posted?"
Watching the exchange from behind Torgar the tiefling believes the old man to be lying about the madam in question. Without looking at the old man she projects her voice into his mind. "Please sir you could be in great danger, we must speak to the home owner"
Group 1: The man relents a bit, "Well, gah, come in then, but please explain what all this is about. Madame Fugue is currently in her study, if the cause for concern is great enough I will fetch her. And I assure you that whatever this is about has no connections to the Madame, she owns a rather distinguished mercantile company." The man opens the door wide and waves you all into a well lit foyer. The floors are polished marble, and the paintings and trinkets on display indicate the owners wealth. A large staircase sweeps up across from the front door, next to it an older hardwood door, and the building expands to the left and right through archways. The older gentleman stands waiting for an answer.
Group 2: With a sly grin the Marshal replies, "What cadaver?"
Othokent: yes, you can make such rolls without asking though I appreciate it. You hear the entire conversation. They discuss prior encounters with Hepzethena's creations and the threat she poses to the city, Hawthum asks if they should reach out to "Them" for aid but the Tiefling refused. They then discussed other options, the vice marshal will speak to a council about a full fledged excursion into The Chasm, but that could take time.
"The one that prize stealer just burned."Othokent simply states. "Are all soft-skin's soft in head? Or are only the round ear ones are?" He asks with his head canted to the side, and by all appearances being genuinely oblivious to the subtleties. The black-scaled Lizardfolk next fishes out one of the decrepit looking fingers and holds it up. "This one take this off earlier. Remember now?"

Also, can I roll religion to see if you knows anything about the practices of Hags?
