As Othokent finishes talking to the Marshall Alvaryn bursts out in a raucous laugh that he had been struggling to contain as the lizardfolk spoke. Taking a moment to contain himself he steps over to Othokent and pats him on the shoulder with a huge grin across his face before turning to the Marshall and saying "My friend here has a point Gunther, or should I say Marshall round-ear? Maybe all this paperwork has turned you soft in the head!" He finishes with a wink to the Marshall, his amusement plain as day on his face.
(I saw this earlier, but wasn’t sure how to contribute without it being filler.)
Torgar entered with the others, looking about the house from the foyer and wondering how it could look so impressive while the cellar was complete opposite.
Mazir stood in silence just inside the door, the opulence of just one house was overwhelming to her, this woman had a man just to answer her door. This scale of wealth she thought looking down at her tattered road worn clothes and matted hair was to her unfathomable.
*Filler is great seeing as I'm making this all up on the fly*
Othokent: You've heard of hags before, the egg bearer having taught you a bit about them as well as many other potential threats. Hags are rather enigmatic and it's better just to kill them rather than to attempt to understand them. You know that each one can be different, some work alone, others within covens of other hags, but they are most certainly all malicious. That this one has managed to escape death and survive for so long beneath the city is unusual.
Alavaryn: Please do and explain what you're trying to get from the roll.
Group 1: The old man wrings his hands and looks off into space, "The cellar? That has been inaccessible since before the Madame purchased the house, at least from the inside, and it has simply been left. What type of creature was it? Perhaps just a large rodent I'm sure, after all, this is a big city, I'm certain it's nothing too nasty."
*Welp, wrex left, and I was planning for him to have to work with Galmin Lux in the future.*
*Also, every player is different as to what they would like in a game, if you'd rather I just skip dialogue parts and just stick to a more combat oriented style, let me know.*
*Also, Alvarn you can take that gold back. plus you and othokent get 30 gold each to go and buy equipment and such, anything basic is readily available.*
Alvaryn is trying to convince the Marshall to give them the posted bounty for the first creature they already brought in!
***I personally am enjoying the dialogue plenty and have no problems with it! Quite enjoying things so far, but I am happy with however people want it to go***
***On the gold, is the 30g the gold from the pouch split between us? Not sure where it came from!***
“Perhaps you or the Madame would be willing to come into the cellar with us to see? Explain the sledge, strange chalk markings, or ‘large rodent’. Maybe go deeper into the cellar where it leads into the sewers to a decaying, skinless, feline creature of the shadows.” Torgar‘s patience was growing rather thin at this point. The Dragonborn was looking for a bit of relaxation after his long journey from his last job still fresh in the day. “Of course if we are just wasting our time, then we’ll have to go see the towns law who I’m sure after their own discovery would be glad to quickly place blame and start arresting without restraint.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mikkeo gives Torgar a pained look. "I'm sure that won't be necessary," he says quickly. "Sir," he says to the butler, "the cellar was open. A creature of some unknown origin was down there, and you have a doorway to some kind of underground passage that smells worse than a body that's been rotting in the sun for three months. These things need to be addressed by your mistress, or at least by you, immediately." As Mikkeo speaks, his voice becomes more and more confidential.
Persuasion: 23; if Torgar's threat gives him advantage: 13
I am of the same mind as Alvaryn. At this point, I am just waiting to find out how things turn out with the Marshall, and how our good turtle friend is leaving.

Snapping quickly from her admiration of the house she found herself in Mazir listened to the others and lends her support "Sir, this thing is highly dangerous and is not simply a rodent, it was created, risen even using and twisting the corpse of a person to create a monster. Something more sinister than rats gnaw at the foundations of this building, you should heed the warnings of these men, they saved my life this night" Gesturing to the others as she spoke Mazir quickly realised she may be the centre of attention and moved backwards behind the dragonborn, con cious now of her travel worn attire, her filthy garb a direct contradiction to the clean polished house she now stood in, she folded her arms into her clothes and waited the mans response.
I for one am enjoying the narrative and the character conversations, these characters are good and written well it would be a shame to not explore them and this world you have created rather than jump from one fight scene to the next.
This is what I came to DnD for, to see interaction and world building and be a part of a well written story. I am happy for the game to continue like this.
Group 1: The butler looks a bit dumbfounded by all the information flooding in at once along with threats and silver tongues. With a bang, a door slams open on the floor above, a woman shouts "These bleeding ledgers aren't going to balance themselves!" and a woman walks to the railing of the upper level. Dark hair falls about her fair elven face, green eyes taking the scene in, "Guests? Lambesis, why did you not tell me we had guests?" the irritation clear in her voice. Lambesis, the old butler, mumbles sheepishly, and with a deep breath, looks up at her, "Madame Fugue, it appears we have guests." He announces.
She leans her arms against the railing, "And what do business do have here, my unannounced guests?" She asks through a strained smile. Lambesis fill her in on the situation and she is taken aback by the development. "Send for Hawthum." She commands Lambesis. "And you lot, we're going to the cellar." She rushes down the stairs, pauses at Mazir "I bet your horns a lovely." turns to the door and proceeds out.
Group 2: It is then that yet another figure bursts through the door, an old man moving very spritely for his age, bald head, Van Dyke beard. Red Hawaiian shirt. Walks up to Wrex and knocks him face to floor, "There you are Umigame," He laughs, "Can't have you running off on old Roshi like that.", hops on Wrex's back and they both fly up into the air and crash through the door and away.
The Marshal sighs, raises his hands slightly in defeat, "Sure, sure, why not." Throw another 15 gold on top of the 30 gold starting fund and also with the money from Lux.
There were a few moments where Torgar tried to interject, but couldn't find a moment with Fugue asserting herself so aggressively. It wasn't until the group was making their way down to the cellar did the dragonborn finally find an opening. "Who is this Hawthum and what do you expect to find with your own eyes that you couldn't simply take our word for?" The comment made about Mazirs horn not going unnoticed.
Alvaryn winks to the Marshall and says "Gunther, my good man, you know I always give more than I take, you wouldn't want this pretty face to disappear in some old Hags lair now would you!" Turning to Othokent he plucks half the gold from the pouch from Lux's bounty(25g) and hands it to the Lizardfolk. "Your share my friend. Shall we grab some supplies while we await others for our jaunt? As much as I enjoy the Marshall's company he knows better than most that I hate to sit still for too long!" He finishes with his customary grin.
Othokent had still been looking off in the direction Roshi and Wrex literally flew off. And was so wrapped up in that, Alvaryn had to go and guide the thoroughly flummoxed Lizardfolk through the process. "Egg Bearer was right. Othokent has much, much to learn..." He says, senses returning as he thoughtlessly secreted the money away. "Supplies? Yesss. This one thinks it is good idea. Very Othokent. This one follow soft-skin pointy-eared ones lead now. No more scaled shell brother."He sounds almost sad there at the end. But as his expression and posture doesn't really change it is hard to tell. But either way, he follows Alvaryn out, but keeps a warier eye out for any sign of Half-Ogre, and pointedly stands on the opposite side of Alvaryn if they do encounter one.

Mazir stood rooted to the spot as this woman, the Madame, swept down the stairs in front of her. She tried to ignore the comment about her horns keeping her arms hidden she resisted the urge to touch them. "I was, I mean we were attacked in your cellar by a Topi Madame"her voice carried softly across the hallway, this woman's confidence intimidated Mazir slightly and she had no idea why. "I followed a noise into your cellar and was confronted by the thing these two came to help, I kept its heart"
Turning to follow out and back down into the cellar Mazir stopped, just outside the door at the top of the madams steps, she looked up, there in the distance, she squinted slightly, something left a trail as it moved against the sky between the breaks in the clouds, she could have sworn she saw a man soaring into the air wearing a red shirt and riding no other than a giant turtle. (Wrex was a turtle wasn't he) This city gets stranger by the minute. She turned from her musing and looked upon the Madame.
what can I learn from her and the butler by watching them. Investigation 5
Mazir: Sadly with an investigation all you can tell is the butler is the butler and the madame the madam. Insight might prove more useful.
Group 1:Over her shoulder, the Madame replies "Never take someones word for it, first lesson of business. Take notes." As you step into the cellar, there is a loud pop behind you, and a robed man materializes. He immediately holds up his hands in peace, "I am Hawthum, called for by Madame Fugue. I heard there was an infestation in the cellar?"
Group 2: I think you get the jist of where Group 1 is heading, make any purchases you would like, common items for sure, anything above please request. If you could also state what you buy as well, ex: item, item, item. There are several other bounties available, most within the city, as well as a citizens request board.
