Slag will nod in approval at Flint's remark. "I would support whichever decision is made by you and your people" turning to face the mayor "But perhaps if a small group of say... 7 concerned citizens started walking towards the icewolves camp... well.. I mean if they attacked us and we had to defend ourselves... I think we maybe yer problem would take care of itself. A wide grin Spreading across his face... "Surely there is no need to ask permission for a few villagers to go for a walk right?"
..."Halfling, dwarf, gnome, you all look the same when running around" As Kaldun hears these words uttered by Marv, his eyes bulge with visible anger and he mutters an obscenity under his breath about uncultured swine, and his companions quietly encouraged him to calm down. However he soon finds himself gawking at more money than he had ever had in his life handed to him by a man he'd only just met. He felt a deep and unfamiliar sense of gratitude towards the entire city of North Wood. The mouthy Kobold was so stunned that he sat in utter silence for much of the debate, lost in thought as the townsfolk and his companions discussed how to deal with the Ice Wolves.
After snapping back to attention, and grasping the issue at hand, Kaldun rises to speak and address both the townsfolk and his companions. "People of North Wind! I am a stranger in your city, but I know this: The whores on thecouncil of Avamoore do not care if you live or die, nor do those corrupted clergy! They will not save you against this menace! You must take a stand against the Ice Wolves if you wish to survive! But fear not, your city does not stand alone, for KALDUN GOLDAST STANDS WITH YOU!"
Kaldun raises his fist in the air, and pauses to take a deep breath and also cast Minor Illusion to cause all of the light to glow deep red, and all flames (if any) in the room to burn stronger, with a slowly growing intensity that will crescendo with his speech.
"And I say that we ATTACK! We do not sit here and wait like lambs for the slaughter! Like any pestilence, the Ice Wolves must be EXTERMINATED! We must hunt them down, find where they fester, and BURN IT TO THE GROUND!"
After growling and pumping his clawed fist, he steps back to catch his breath and regain his composure.
OOC: Sorry for posting so late guys! But yeah while it was tempting to try to start a "build that wall" chant, I think this party is built well for smashing and burning things, and we should play to our strengths here. ;)
Also, for the record, Kaldun did not actually take down 2 Ice Wolves, he took down like 1.8... which I think he would probably call 2. (still pretty good for the little guy though!)
Mayor Timberman looks slightly concerned as Boo runs and drops to his knees in front of him, holding a piece of paper. Timberman takes it and reads it, before calling Marv over and has him read it. "How long were you going to hold onto this, you should have handed it over to me in the morning when first fought the Ice Wolves. We have something now to use to help our interrogation of the Ice Wolf we took prisoner."
Just then Kaldun finishes his speech and has the crowd riled up into frenzy. Simon, the smith's apprentice speaks up. "Yeah that tiny dragonborn guy is right. We can't wait for the Arch Cleric to help us, we must take care of ourselves. Yes we should destroy the Ice Wolves, we should start with the execution of the one they took prisioner and string his body as a warning to the others, who's with me?" The crowd cheers as Simon starts to lead this once quiet town, turned into an angry mob marching towards the guard barracks and to the prison kept underneath.
Mayor Timberman and Captain Marv just exchange looks as something meant to calm the people now has turned the people of the village into an angry mob.
"Thank you Slag! 7 concerned citizens we are indeed! We shall eliminate the camp and protect these people who have been so generous and accepting of us."
Kaldun then turns to shake the hands of Marv and the Mayor, he proudly beamed with a wide and toothy grin "Don't worry sirs, we'll see to it that we send those devils back to hell. Perhaps after, I will be able to make a home in this proud city... Thank you, but please excuse me, I want to make sure they don't rip the prisoner apart before we learn his secrets!" He giddily scampers off in the direction of the mob.

Slag will also head toward the prison, running in the hopes of reaching the prisoner before the mob. His heavy steel body moving light a freight train as the juggernaut sprints down the street.
As the mob heads down the street, heading towards the jail chanting "Execute the Ice Wolf! Protect our town, protect our families!" A few of the townsfolk has grabbed what they could as improvised weapons along the way. The few guards that are on duty, who couldn't make it to town hall and expecting a briefing from Marv when he returned, sees the mob and a very confused. Seeing that the entire town has gathered, being outnumbered and really not looking to start fighting innocent people, as misguided they maybe. The guards are very confused as the crowd demands execution something that hasn't happened in recent memory.
Not seeing Marv anywhere in sight, but hears as Simon demands keys to cell where Ice Wolf was being kept. Very confused the guard keys the key to Simon, and Simon goes into the prison and moments later emerges with the bound Ice Wolf in tow. Simon also emerges with a sword he took from the barrack armory. Simon then leads the mob to the townsquare. The mob forms a circle around Simon, but allows him space as he throws the Ice Wolf onto his knees. "This is for thinking you can attack our town, scare our people, ruin our temple." Simon raises the sword about his head as the Ice Wolf speaks. "The Wolf Mother will welcome me into her pack. Once Nightwolf hears about this, you'd wish it was only your heretic temple burned to the ground." Just then Simon brings the sword down across the back of his neck, slicing his head off. Then holding the sword above his head, Simon starts to lead the mob up North towards the forest.
That is when a loud thunderous voice, almost unworldly, erupts. The mob turns to see, Marv, but he doesn't look like himself. His eyes are glowing white, hair now flowing blond, seems to be glowing with radiant energy as well. "THAT IS ENOUGH OF THIS MADNESS! I AM NOT GOING TO LET AN ENTIRE TOWN, A TOWN I HAVE SWORN TO PROTECT THROW THEIR LIVES AWAY TROMPING THROUGH THE FOREST ON SOME SORT OF VENDETTA! WHAT WILL THE OTHER CLANS THINK WHEN THEY SEE AN ENTIRE CITY FROM AVAMOORE WANDERING INTO THEIR TERRITORY AND ATTACKING A GROUP OF THEM. NOW WE HAVE 7 INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE VOLUNTEERED SCOUT OUT THE REGION FOR US, SO THE REST OF YOU WILL GO ON WITH REST OF YOUR LIVES, WE'LL START REBUILDING, AND WAIT FOR THEIR RETURN. IF I CATCH ANY ONE CITIZEN HEADING TOWARDS THE NORTH, I'LL HAVE YOU ARRESTED, DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?"
Slag would have stopped running when saw the mob had already reached the Ice Wolf and executed him. Smoke would be billowing heavily as though he was breathing hard even though the warforged did not need to breath and was standing perfectly still, watching the scene unfold.
"Hmmmmmmm...." Boo is still inside the Town Hall, contemplating. Well, if he had given him the note earlier, he would not have eaten. Boo cannot carry the will of the Gorgal on an empty stomach. He would've gone by himself as well. Or did he not want that? Wait..."..." he looks around. Where are the people? What is this shouting? Boo peeks out one of the hall windows(assuming that there are, if not, the door) and he goes still. Standing in front of the townsfolk was a divine creature! It had to be! He could feel its energy in his bones! " Gorgal shield me..." he whispers in deep speech, pressing himself in the furthest corner of the hall to hide.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kaldun tried in vain to slow down the mob and prevent the execution, but to no avail. As the axe fell he was jumping up and down trying to be heard, , "NO! WAIT! He hasn't been properly tortured and interrogated! We must know our enemy!" but alas, the mob either could not hear, or would not listen to his pleas.
He sat in stunned silence looking at the corpse before being jolted by the booming voice of Marv. To his surprise, Marv did not seem to find his rallying cry helpful. Sensing that perhaps he had done enough, and that maybe situation had gotten a tad out of hand... Kaldun quietly slips back into the crowd, trying to avoid attention, and not wanting to jeopardize the small fortunate which was just bequeathed to him.
OOC: I think that 20plat would enough to buy a lot of loyalty from a member of a nearly extinct race that was basically a refugee most of his life. He's basically rich now!
Also, hope you guys don't mind me having a little fun with crowd, so far I'm very much enjoying the charismatic and lawful evil combo >:)
The mob's frenzied execution and rebuke from their sheriff seemed to please Tallis, but in an unintended way. He stood in the doorway after the scene, chuckling to himself and anyone in earshot, "The sheep have caught a wolf, but they choose to butcher it rather than find out where its pack sleeps. Truly, these surfacers need all the help they can get."

Still standing in front of the mob, Marv still in celestial fury, but calming down just a little, this side of him the town has never seen of him before. "Now I suggest that everyone gets some rest, its been a long day. If the group of seven wishes to meet with me in the morning before they head off, they can meet me at the barracks. Until then goodnight everyone." Just as he finishes his eyes and hair go back to normal and the celestial aura from him fades. He heads to the barracks for rest.
Slag will head back towards the inn "I think it is time for a couple more beers then time to hit the sack" turning to Flint and giving him another hard pat on the shoulder. Then turning to his new Dwarven companion "You coming friend? Turning to Rurik.
“You think the smithy or armorer is still open? I suddenly got a hole burning in me pocket and I need to put it out.” Flint tapped at his bag of platinum as he looked toward Slag. ”Otherwise I might just spend it all at the bar, but I think I better prepare for these Ice Wolves the best I can and a nice suit of Splint is just what I need.” The dwarf would start making his way back to the shops. ”And someone should be keepin an eye on that lizard ‘for he insights another riot.”
"I am sure that they are closed for the day, but perhaps they would allow me to use their forge and I could make you some armor if you wanted..." Slag says, his eyes wide as his mind cranks through all the possibilities... "I mean, that is... if ya wanted." His eyes moving from Flint to the ground, trying not to get himself too worked up for nothing. "I have my own blacksmiths tools, I would just need a way to heat the metal hot enough to work it...." Maybe tomorrow morning we can purchase some metal ingots and and get that done for you... I already bought some but I don't know if it would be enough to make you a set of Splintmail.."Then, locking eyes with Flint again "But if you arn't interested I can help you pick out a quality piece"
Flint would stop short in his already short tracks and spin about to face the juggernaut. “Sounds like you are trying to save me a bit o’ coin to spend on ale instead, while offering me a piece of quality armor made by a friend. I can not be passing up an opportunity that good.” Moving to follow Slag to the inn a quick look for the kobold to make sure they were coming as well before looking back. “Tonight, we drink. Tomorrow, we build!”
