After passing the ring around, I sit on the ground. "At least you got a bit of a show," I say to Larg. Vigan divvies up what the Zhentarim carried and I take a studded leather set, scimitar, and dagger to sell later. "We can divide up the sale of the horses in Mirabar," I say.
The ring makes it around to Ladrian, with nobod having any good ideas at what it does. Vigan seems to do little more than glance at it before handing it to our roguish bard.
"I'm in favor of getting there as quickly as we can. We're close and it won't be any safer staying out in the open than getting into the city." I look to our fallen foes. "Should we bury them?"
"Leave them for the wolves. The Zhentarim might be shady, but they are powerful, and us parading 4 corpses around will only attract attention. We should gather what we want and head for Mirabar."

The five adventurers, with Larg in tow, pass through the southern gate of Mirabar a few hours after sunset. One of the guards, a seasoned old shield dwarf wearing platemail and wielding a battleaxe, studies Larg’s face for a moment and remarks, “Ah, by Moradin’s beard, the Weevil’s been caught!”
Thirty minutes later, after a short behind-closed-doors discussion with a few leaders of the Axe of Mirabar (the well-armed garrison of shield dwarves responsible for the city’s defense), the party is richer by a sum of 5,000 gold pieces. Larg, after all, turns out to be the wanted brigand, Worvil “the Weevil” Forkbeard.
When the leaders of the Axe learn of Kaltivar’s interest in the Weevil, they seem slightly perplexed. Would a frost giant pursue the Weevil simply to claim the reward money? Or did Kaltivar seek to enlist the Weevil to do some dirty work for the frost giants? “Let’s see if the Weevil can explain it,” suggests one of the Axe’s dwarves.
After a hot meal, a night’s rest, and a hearty breakfast, the next day begins with a visit to the stables to inquire about selling the three horses and their tack.
Using this same chart (d12) to determine prices offered for horses and tack:
Three riding saddles, 3 bits & bridles, and 3 sets of saddle bags (market value 48 gp): 10 (offers 55 gp)
He offers a total of 253 gold pieces for the horses and the tack.
Merchants in Mirabar
Located in the northern part of Mirabar is Finrath, the lone bowyer in the city. Finrath is an unusually tall half-elf, and his tiny shop is located on a cheery cobblestone street lined with evergreen trees. Finrath is covered with sawdust when you enter the shop, for he is currently sanding away at a longbow that he’s constructing. He stocks a decent assortment of non-magical bows, crossbows, and ammunition, in addition to the following magical ones:
1 Longbow +2 – 2,100 gp
2 Light Crossbows +1 – 320 gp
2 Hand Crossbows +1 – 290 gp
13 Arrows +1 – 12 gp
8 Arrows +2 – 45 gp

The sale of magic items is monitored closely by Mirabar's authorities, and they have decided that all such purchases will be made through one, city-approved merchant: Zavilah. Among all sorts of trinkets, books, pieces of art, musical instruments, and collector's items from far away lands, Zavilah's shop contains the following:

Andor
As he browses through the wares Andor finds himself drawn to a wand and a pair of boots, with the reward money burning a hole in his pocket the sorcerer looks for sensible things that might actually help him in the future.
"I'd like to purchase these two items, I also have another item with me that I would like identified. I do not know the spell for it myself, as I plan on doing making some significant purchases and will encourage some equally solvent friends to spend their hard earned coins here maybe we could do a deal about the cost of the identifying... I think you could benefit from it in the long run."
Persuasion 8
OOC Andor is looking to buy the Wand of Magic Missiles and the Boots of the Winterland.
Edit: Andor is by far the least effective persuader I've ever known with such a high charisma, sooo disappointing.
I visit the various shops finding myself uninterested in most of the wares. At Reznip's shop, I purchase his 9 fine arrows for 90 gold. At Zavilah's shop, I pick up the Short Bow (+1) that looks as good as any of the others I saw but for the best price. I find myself oddly intrigued by the Immovable Rod. It defies all senses when activated. It is expensive for a toy, but it needn't be a mere toy. In the end, I decide to buy it. I select two potions of healing as an afterthought as well.
Wandering back through town, I stop again at Ravinshi's shop to sell my excess items. I spy a fine spear (+1) and, on a whim, decide to add it to my arsenal. As part of the bargain, I ask for his prices on:
After perusing the stalls and shops of the town he revisits the locals which take his fancy. Approaching Renzip he asks about a price for the sale of his Longsword and the purchase of 9 +1 Arrows and the Weapon of Warning.
Persuasion: 8
Returning to Zavilah he looks at his wares whilst engaging in idle chat and spots a ring. "May i take a closer look at this?" he asks.
Ring of Mind Shielding
2 Potions of Healing
OOC: If Carrow is allowed to look closer at the ring he will ask Andors opinion and also try it on, then regardless he will Barter for it.
Arcana 9 Persuasion: 17
Edit: Carrow looking at the ring and inspecting the pattern on the top considers it to be well made and rather pretty, as an Orcs taste goes. Looking at his friends hes always wanted a nice piece to fit in with his more Human companions. "Is this a ring, where would i wear it?" he asks pointing at the jewellery
"Ah, sorry, friend," I say to Carrow as I'm leaving Renzip's shop. "I just purchased those arrows. I believe Finrath has some more down the way. I'll even split the difference in price with you."
I hand Carrow 10 gp to cover some of the higher price of the arrows at the other shop.
"For you martial types i understand it makes sense to use it on the fingers of your off-hand, but with rings like this i think the important part is you really have to wear it, hanging it round your neck won't work." Andor tilts his head slightly, thinking to himself "It seems like a good thing to have, I think it would be money well spent."

The door to Reznip's shop opens, and Vigan struggles in with a veritable mountain of arms and armor. Doing his best not to knock anything over, he sets his loot down on the floor with a grunt.

Vigan
Having never been one for magic, Vigan reluctantly follows the others into Zavilah's shop. He is surprised though, to see a suit of splint armor among the trinkets and scrolls, and approaches Zavilah to bargain.
"500gp and my own armor (chainmail) for the adamantine armor, and 3 healing potions."
"Thankyou for the arrows friend, that armor suits you" feeling generous and in good spirits the Ranger decides to do a good deed. "Food on me tonight gentlemen a thank you for your company on the road thus far"
Zavilah says, "Fifty gold pieces, stranger. For fifty gold I'll identify your item. And if your words prove true about your friends' spending money here...well, then, I'll waive that fee in the end. Just what is it that you have?"
Rixton:
