I hand her the spear and my blanket, shrugging at the look I get for how filthy it is. "I gave my food to Ladrian. If you need food, someone else can pitch in."
She explains that she had been scouting ahead--for what, she does not say--when an ice spider overtook her. She has never previously been within the mountain; the spider carried her there.
"If you would rather, we can accompany you after you are done here. Just wait here by the entrance and we will be back in due time. In my experience, your tribes do not trust us, though. If you do venture out on your own, I wish you good luck."
Based on the expression on her face, the party doubts she'll be waiting for them when they depart the Eye. She seems committed to finding her way on her own.
Upon returning to the main temple room, the group faces their next decision: attempt, once again, to pass through the glowing mist in the eastern wall or open the large set of doors in the south wall.
"We should open the south door before we proceed, who needs a greataxe?" Having already given Carrow a greataxe for the northern door, Vigan offers the rest of his impressive collection of greataxes round the room, before brandishing one himself in the direction of the door.
Working in concert, the adventurers take the next fifteen minutes to break through the thick layer of ice that covers the doors in the south wall. After pulling the doors open, they look in upon a yet another enormous room; but this one is warm, dry, and brightly lit. The source of the light and the heat is a raging fire contained within a bowl-shaped basin in the center of the chamber.
Arranged about the fire pit are six tables carved out of granite, with matching benches, and two 9-foot-tall stone slabs stained with blood and grease. Atop the southernmost slab are neat stacks of plates and goblets made of beaten copper, all green and black with age. The stacks of plates and goblets on the northernmost slab have been knocked over, creating a mess.
From their vantage point at the doors, the group can see that there is some sort of alcove that juts out from the eastern wall.
Striding into the room, and hoisting himself up onto the northern-most table for a better view, the goliath turns to Harshnag with a quizzical look. "A magical fire, or is someone expecting us? Either way, it is a welcome change from the bitter cold"
Rixton senses no immediate danger as he carefully steps into the feast hall. So, he makes his way around the first granite table and nears the northern stone slab which allows him to see that Thrym's giant axe is leaning against the southern stone slab just beyond the basin of fire. From his new vantage point, Rixton can also clearly see the entirety of the alcove to the east--an alcove that contains a remorhaz.
"What are you doing here, big fella?" I say as I draw my shortbow and a +1 arrow nock it. I study its movements to try to predict where it will go and aim for a weak spot in its natural armor as I move forward 40 feet. (Bonus Action - Insightful fighting: 24, end movement at E7). "I think I know how this room got so warm. Can you feel the heat coming off of that thing?"
I tap the clockwork amulet around my neck and let its effects take hold.
Shortbow (+1 with +1 arrow) Attack: 18, Damage: 6. Add 3 if insightful fighting is successful.
Seeing the big and nasty butterfly he vaults over the table and moves to F3 (using his Cunning action to get enough movement) standing on the table for better vantage point and shoots the crossbow.
Running to the cover provided by the table Andor looks apprehensively at the giant beast "I think we need more Andors here" he says as he summons a group of mirror images to hopefully distract the creature.
(Rixton's Insightful Fighting attempt is an automatic success; the remorhaz can neither tie nor beat his roll of 24)
Rixton creeps forward, shortening the distance between the remorhaz and himself. He nocks an arrow and aims for the monster's throat; his shot draws blood but only minimally as it barely penetrates the remorhaz's thick hide. A moment later, the sharp twang of Ladrian's crossbow is heard, but his bolt glances off the pillar near his target. As his friends engage the monster with their ranged weapons, Andor utters a few words and creates three facsimiles of himself.
(Assuming B6 is Andor's new location--if not, please advise; Carrow's action is next, and the remorhaz will follow)
Seeing the creature looming in the alcove Carrow watches it's movments, uncertain if he's seen a beastb like this before, he must get closer to study the monster better (specifically within 60ft) ascertain it's strengths and weaknesses, what a specimen to study, this cannot be it's natural habitat, surely. Snapping him self into the room he eyes it's malicious intent and moves to engage. Movement to C5 Firing 2 +1 arrows.

Has carrow ever encountered or studied one of these before as a monster hunter.
Carrow takes the high ground offered by the granite table, and he looks upon a monster that is wholly unfamiliar to him. Its ill intent and power are, however, apparent, and he quickly fires two arrows at the remorhaz. The first shot sails high; the ranger lowers his aim and his second arrow sinks into the monster's neck.
The remorhaz lowers its head and crawls westward and over the granite table and benches that stand between itself and Rixton. Harshnag dashes forward, leaping over the northernmost table and landing behind Rixton.
(Vigan's action is next, which will conclude round 1; Andor, Carrow, Ladrian, and Rixton may then act in round 2)
She takes hold of the spear that Rixton offers but shakes her head at the bow. "Blanket. Thank you."

Rixton:
"Well, we have that shard of ice with the rune in it. How does it fit on the runes around the doorway, Harshnag?"
Harshnag shakes his head. "I know nothing of that shard, Rixton. There is much from the glory days of Ostoria that I do not know, it seems."
Rixton:
"Well, maybe we can figure it out later. Let's see what is south," I say.
While we decide, I'll investigate the shard of ice to see the possible use the rune may have in here.

"Yes, that looks like it must be magical," I say, stepping into the room behind Vigan. "Better look out for traps first."
