Andor and Ladrian: You know enough about the flora and fauna of the North to know that flying snakes are from warmer, more temperate regions. Additionally, each of you has a rudimentary familiarity with the various factions of the North, and for reasons unknown to you the flying snake is the chosen symbol of the Zhentarim.
"Allow me a minute to search for the priest, they may still be hiding"
Carrow cast a quick glance over the ransacked bed and walked into the temple proper, retrieving his cloak he placed Rixton onto one of the benches. His cloak now in its rightful position he turned his attention back to the room, using a skill set he had relied upon many times in the field, and started examining the dirt floor for any signs of where the priests if any may have ran.

Carrow: The temple floor doesn't provide any worthwhile help. The dirt is so firmly packed and well-worn that it might as well be made of stone. Your additional time devoted to searching the temple proves to be fruitless as well.
"Let's go to the Inn, there's nothing more to find in here" Carrow flips his hood up and stands in the temple doorway watching the rain. "What should we do with him?" Turning slightly he gestures towards the rogue "bring him with us?"
"We should do something with the body, although that winged snake makes me wonder which god she would have prayed too." Andor looks over at Ladrian wondering if there will be a reaction to his comment. "We should also check the others are OK, there could still be more goblins about."

"I'm going to move her body next door where there are beds, maybe she was staying here at the inn - doesn't explain why she didn't go wherever the other people have gone but she may have left belongings that could tell us sometihng, shall we check the other rooms up here first?"
Andor begins moving the body from where it fell to the next door room which still has beds, intending to place her on one until the party have finished securing the village. He will then search that room more thoroughly if possible

As Andor moves the woman's body to the northeastern room he realizes the hand crossbow wasn't the only weapon she possessed. Beneath her monk's robe, she carried a shortsword. Andor and Ladrian then make a search of what's left in the southeastern room of the inn. The two beds and the wardrobe that were once in the room were obliterated along with most of the floor when the boulder dropped through the roof. What's left of those furnishings is now in the dining room below. After a few minutes of investigation, they find the following:
Sitting on the desk is a small leather pouch that contains 8 pieces of gold and 5 pieces of silver.
There is a small, rolled up piece of parchment sitting underneath the pouch filled with coins; the words "On our way. ~X" are written in Common on it.
A backpack, hanging from a wooden peg on the backside of the door, contains a bedroll, a leather-bound journal (that contains absolutely no writing), a bottle of ink, an ink pen, some ordinary clothes, a stamped gold coin that carries the image of a winged snake, and three potion flasks. The first flask is filled with a transparent liquid; the other two contain a slightly glimmering red liquid.
As you're concluding your search of the room, you look down through the massive hole in the floor, and you see Carrow, Vigan, and Rixton entering the inn through the front door. Rixton, being carried by the goliath, still seems to be unconscious.
Holding the coin and the parchment Andor grimaces, looking over at Ladrain he says "It appears this woman may have had friends associated with winged snakes who could be heading this way, I wonder what that means for the village..." Shouldering the pack after throwing in the coin purse he prepares to move downstairs "Rixton still seems in a bad way, shall we go and see what the others have been up to?"
"Interesting... Interesting indeed."Ladrian mumbles to himself and seemingly lost in his thoughts. After some consideration he then decides to let Andor lead the way.

Carrow
"We killed 2 more in the temple no signs of any survivors yet" Carrow crossed the Inn and began searching behind the bar. After hearing the goliath he pipes up again "yes how did you fare in here?"
Carrow and Vigan step into the inn, and (as seen previously by Ladrian and Andor) the front room of the inn is the dining area. To the right of the entrance is a massive boulder that punched through the roof and through the floor of the room above. A dining table and a pair of long benches have been reduced to splinters by the falling rock. Two smaller round tables and several chairs remain intact, and resting on each table is an unlit oil lamp. Lying in the middle of the floor is a dead goblin, with a crossbow bolt protruding from its chest.
A set of stairs leads to the second story, and a door in the northwest corner of the room leads, you surmise, to the kitchen area. Carrow searches the front room of the inn for a few minutes but finds nothing of importance.
"We got here too late, a woman is dead upstairs, shot by that goblin through the window. I doubt she suffered for long he caught her clean." Looking at Rixton, he nods "He's still alive I take it, we found some potions in the woman's hear, maybe they could help - anyone want to take a look?"
"By the way, the woman had a winged snake as a pet and a gold coin with the same design on it, she seems to have also received a note suggesting she was expecting company - which might explain why she isn't with the other villagers wherever they are."

"Zhentarim." Vigan frowns, as if the word had left a bad taste in his mouth. "Was there any indication of her purpose here?"
"As for Rixton, he is fine, given the circumstances." Gesturing to one of the tables he continues, "If you are uncertain what potions you have, let us all see."
Vigan
"These belongings should be returned to the priest", Vigan murmurs, gathering the items and placing them in his backpack. Should he still live.
He stands up and turns towards the door, watching the rain do its best to enter the temple through the far doorway.
"We should return to the others, hopefully they have found someone in the inn that can tell us of what took place here."

Vigan
"I'll get him", Vigan says, as he again puts Rixton over his shoulder.
He steps outside into the rain, and heads towards the inn.
Carrow follows short swords sheathed and bow slung over his back next to his heavily wrapped longsword.
Andor

Landrian,
"Yes, let's finish searching this inn, bring the body for a proper burial and meet with the rest of the crew. We need to check if Rixton is ok"

"Interesting... Interesting indeed." Ladrian mumbles to himself and seemingly lost in his thoughts. After some consideration he then decides to let Andor lead the way.
Vigan
Vigan places Rixton on the floor of the inn, turning his head as Andor makes his way down the stairs, closely followed by Ladrian.
A concerned expression crosses his face. "What of our hidden bowman?", he says, already prepared for the obvious answer.
