The wizard-on-loan, a middle-aged, though surprisingly spry, Human named Aneth Keensight, comes to visit the party on the first evening, evidently by prior arrangement with Wendell. While he spends much of the visit chatting with Wendell and Elaric about highly technical and arcane aspects of magic, he is interested in hearing of the party's exploits. Even among the seafarers, word has spread about the discovery of ancient ruins buried below the village of Pyrringham. Anyone may feel free to join in that portion of the conversation (if you do so, please make a persuasion check with advantage).
Aneth seems to enjoy Balasar's contributions and encourages him along with questions about his homeland, personal history, and how he came to join the party. Balasar may answer these questions - separately or together - or not as he pleases.
By the time the wizard bids his farewells, it is well past midnight and most of the crew has bunked down for the night. Yawning greatly, the wizard promises to visit with the party regularly on their voyage, with particular plans made to exchange spells with Wendell and Elaric over the next few days. He even suggests that everyone join him for drinks at his favorite tavern in Adaern after the job is done.
The party has made a new contact. Everyone may add "Aneth Keensight - Ship Wizard" to the Allies section of you character sheets. This contact will be able to offer various kinds of assistance, but such details must be discovered by allocating downtime to cultivating a relationship with him while in Adaern.
Your first day at sea draws to a close. If anyone wishes to undertake any specific tasks prior to finding the Emperor of Waves, you have at least two days of travel time left.
Do you wish to take any specific actions or wait to reach your destination?
Wendell is going to pop in to see the newest addition to the team at some point over the next few days, "Hello, Reeves. I hope I'm not bothering you, but I was thinking that we might have an easier go of it if we took some time to compare notes before we arrived." He looks around and whispers conspiratorially, "More to the point, I have a spell I'd like your help in trying out, if you're interested. Wizard Keensight helped me work out a spell of Invisibility, but I'd prefer we test the limitations while we're still out at sea. Interested?"
Wendell grins, "Well, captain says we need to stay in our quarters. I figure that navigating around the ship without being caught would be a pretty decent test."
He conjures a wand and holds it ready, "Once the spell is cast, you'll have an hour. Should be plenty of time to make a run around the vessel."
The wizard taps Reeves on the forehead with the wand and casts Invisibility.
If Reeves chooses to participate, he may make a Stealth check with advantage (as he only needs to focus on remaining silent rather than silent and out of sight) and post whatever actions he takes (or PM if preferred).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
For now, Reeves will scout out the immediate surroundings on the ship. He doesn't try to enter any secure areas or locked rooms; he sticks to the open areas and watches the captain and crew to see if they're doing anything suspicious or at odds with the job.
Wendell will examine the Obelisk (is it still intact after shatter?)
Glancing over, Wendell observes that the obelisk does not appear to have suffered even the slightest hint of damage, despite its undoubted exposure to his spell. As he approaches, Wendell can once again sense the sinister whispers attempting to burrow into his brain. However, the hideous sensation remains endurable.
What SPECIFICALLY does Wendell do (or explicitly not do) in his effort to examine the obelisk?

Without touching the Obelisk, Wendell will go through several rituals of identification, including Detect Magic (to determine school), Identify, and Leomund's Tiny Hut (to prevent the others from being exposed as he works).
Wendell will also try to recall if he has even heard of an object that matches this one's description (History) 9. (if allowed)
Though ill, Guan Hao is still able to function properly with no more impediment than nausea and discomfort.

Reeves waits in stoic silence, maintaining his equipment and staying observant in the meantime.

Reeves gives the wizard a cold, scrutinizing look before he answers. "Fine," he says in a rough voice. "What do you need from me?"

Guan Hao will generally root around the area they've explored so far, looking for loot and/or trouble.
As this is happening, Elaric enters the room and is faced with the faint green emanations of the obsidian obelisk.
Wisdom Save: 26
The elf promptly runs from the room, screams of terror echoing off the wooden bulkheads.
