Thank you. I take it that adding physical restraints would be a waste of time under the circumstances? If so, we should set out to prevent this signal from being sent. Any thoughts on the most likely place to start looking?
With a shrug and shake of her head, Lisette replies, "I would think, because a signal must be visible, that it should be somewhere high. Perhaps the top floor of the estate? Or even the roof, I suppose."
Balasar nods. Or even one of the upper balconies, depending on where the signal recipients are located... I think Clearwater's chambers might be the place to head first. They're furnished with an upper balcony, and between the Drow weaponry and Lisette's observations about the current occupant of the rooms, we know something is amiss there.
Stepping out of Lisette's lab, the party makes ready to head to Clearwater's chamber. The most direct route to their goal would be across the exposed lawn and through the large gardens north of the manor, but Balasar and Lisette are aware of a more winding path next to the party's guest house which may offer more cover at the expense of additional time.
Balasar speaks in a hushed whisper: We may wish to take a less direct, more concealed route to our destination; no sense in giving our foes any additional reason to hurry. Thoughts?
As Lisette looks around, she thinks she catches movement through the hedge. Peering through the leaves, she marks 3 pairs of house Delmirev guards along the more direct path to the house. Something about their stance makes her uneasy, though she cannot place it for a moment. Eventually it comes to her: not a single guard is looking outward away from the estate. After another moment, she realizes that each pair is focused intently on something she cannot quite make out. Tracing their gaze, she realizes the objects of their focus as Thava and Pooja step from the darkness into the very edge of her field of vision, apparently deep in private conversation.
Hurriedly sharing her observations in a whisper, Lisette concludes with an urgent question, "Do we shout a warning to you kin, Bal, or attempt our own ambush while everyone is distracted?"
In a low whisper, Balasar replies. Best to alert them; given the Drow propensity for using crossbows for assassinations, I wouldn't want to risk one of them lining up a shot while we try to position ourselves for an ambush. That being said, if you have a way to warn our friends without simultaneously giving our foes cause for alarm, so much the better, but I suspect that isn't going to be an option.
Noting the relative nearness of two potential enemies, Lisette nods, "I may not be able to warn anyone, but perhaps I can learn something..." With that, she quietly casts a spell.
[Lisette casts Detect Thoughs, seeking only the surface thoughts of the two nearest enemies in the hope of learning which family member they are targeting and in a way which does not bring awareness of the mental intrusion.]
Whispering to her companions, Lisette says, "Based on my spell, I believe these drow to be allied with Rajan, but I cannot be certain. I suggest we prioritize protecting all other family members, though not to exclude Rajan's safety, until we can sort out this matter."
Balasar nods and whispers back. Very well. Let's take out these Drow as quickly and quietly as we can. I hope this delay will not harm our ultimate objective, but whatever mischief these Drow seem to have to mind cannot be allowed to happen.
Lisette briefly surveys the carnage around her, mentally noting the two unconscious 'guards' nearby, before rushing over to Balasar and his family members. [OOC: she plans to listen and get a feel for the situation before interjecting in defense of Balasar and the actions of the party, if such an interjection seems necessary]
Balasar's sister Pooja stares at her brother in absolute horror, a trembling hand reaching for her rapier as she pushes Gisi protectively behind her. Gisi, equally rattled, glances over at the dead and unconscious guards near Lisette and Gong. She turns back to Balasar, her own hand drifting close to an elaborately decorated component pouch.
"What is the meaning of this?!" she snaps at Balasar, "Why have you attacked our own men?"

Lisette is prepared to dash to the location as soon as the others are ready!
Balasar is likewise ready to proceed.

Lisette nods in silent agreement, her eyes scanning the grounds for any signs of danger.
Please make a perception check.

[OOG: Lisette is as prepared for a fight as she is going to get. Are we set to attack or does anyone have any last-minute thoughts?]
