Balasar leads the party to the service entrance. Pooja, you and I will take the lead; watch out for any ambushes or other surprises. Mother, you and Lisette come next, and Gong, you and Skoth bring up the rear. Be alert; our foes have clearly put much into this plan, and will not be easily stopped.
In the dimly lit depths of the dusty internet archives, where forgotten threads languished in the cobwebbed corners of cyberspace, there existed a tale once told, a saga left unfinished. Characters frozen in time, their fates hanging precariously in the balance, awaiting the spark of life gifted through the urgent tapping of keyboards.
And lo, from the arcane depths of the virtual realm, a Wish spell was cast. Not by some mighty sorcerer, but by a humble moderator with a mischievous glint in their eye. With a flick of their metaphorical wand, they breathed life back into the long-dormant play-by-post thread.
The characters stirred, as if awakening from a centuries-long slumber. Their pixelated forms flickered to life once more, their digital hearts pounding with newfound vigor. The words of their players echoed through the void, resurrecting the narrative with a cacophony of keystrokes.
With a mighty roar of laughter and exclamation marks, the adventurers resumed their journey, their quest for glory and loot reignited with a fervor unmatched by mere mortals. The thread pulsed with renewed energy, the story unfolding like a grand tapestry woven by the gods of cyberspace.
And so, the players rejoiced, for their beloved characters had been granted a second chance at adventure. From the depths of obscurity, they rose like phoenixes from the ashes, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them in the boundless expanse of the digital realm.
"The threads of fate can be plucked, an unseen hand unmaking former patterns, bringing well-known threads together with those yet to be used, weaving into existence something both new and strange while, at the same time, familiar. However, not all which once was may be reused or remade - some must simply be cast aside, with no place in this new pattern. What repurposed threads remain will only be discovered by those who take the time to look or those who take an active hand in reshaping the new world as it unfolds."

The party has gathered together, perhaps for the first time, perhaps the 100th. But, before we can learn more of our heroes, it is important to establish the setting. Looking about, what do you see? Are you in a crowded tavern nestled within an icy hamlet? Perhaps you are aboard a docked ship, learning why a nervous captain needs your help? Did you recently arrive in a desert town facing a rash of mysterious disappeared? Or are you trudging through dense jungle, trying to make a contracted delivery before the sun sets and predators wake? You may be marching along a great road, hoping to arrive at the city gates for a grand festival which starts today. It could even be that your group finds themselves in jail for crimes the did or did not commit.
What say you, intrepid heroes? In what locale does this adventure begin?
[OOG: I'll take first pick or anyone who wants to play can strike up a discussion, either on our usual FB Messenger thread or here.]
Provided it fits within the Tabletoppery world as we have so far explored it, nothing I can think of off the top of my head. If it's anything non-standard (i.e. non-core content) and/or has not yet appeared in Tabletoppery, I would just ask that you run it past the group first. For example, if someone wanted to play a gunslinger, I wouldn't immediately say no, but I would want to consider how that might change the world before I would say yes. Same would go for energy weapons, cyborgs, combustion engine vehicles, etc.
Sounds good. Once we get more details about the new adventure, I'll decide whether to re-work Gong or create a new character and run it by you in a private thread.
As the sun hangs high in the sky, casting a brilliant tapestry of golden hues across the sprawling desert landscape, the caravan slows to a halt. The dusty trail gives way to soft sand underfoot as you and your companions disembark, your eyes fixed on the distant outcroppings that mark the outskirts of your destination: the town of Shihen.
Around you, the caravan bustles with activity, the air alive with the sounds of weary travelers preparing for a brief respite. Tents are hastily pitched, their fabric billowing in the gentle breeze, while campfires are kindled, sending tendrils of fragrant smoke spiraling into the azure sky. The scent of roasting spices mingles with the earthy aroma of desert blooms, creating a heady perfume that hangs in the air. Above, the sun beats down relentlessly, its warmth tempered by a cooling breeze that whispers secrets of distant lands.
As the caravan master bids you farewell, his voice tinged with the weariness of a hundred journeys, you find yourselves standing on the threshold of adventure. The town of Shihen beckons in the distance, its weathered visage a testament to the passage of time and the resilience of those who call it home. With resolve in your hearts and anticipation in your steps, you set out on foot. It's here, at the threshold of adventure, that you have the opportunity to introduce yourselves, your journey, and your purpose to your fellow travelers. How will you make your presence known in this forgotten corner of the desert?
*This is your chance to describe/introduce your character to the group - once everyone weighs in, I will move the party along to the next scene*
The dark haired human hitches up a dented shield and takes a pull from his water skin. The links of his armor shift with a soft slithering hiss under an oversized dun-colored robe. Glancing around him at his comrades, he offers an apologetic grin, "By Helm, gentlemen, I've just suddenly realized I've not talked to any of you since we received our commission. I'd meant to, but the caravan master and I got caught up discussing some legal matters. Before I knew it, here we were. Once more then, I am Adrimar, apprentice of the High Hills Procurator's Guild en route to Porst."
He bows and gives his mustache a slightly affected twirl, one hand on his worn sword hilt, "Should you require counsel or a judicial duelist, mundane or magical, I am most humbly at your service for no great fee. Needless to say, my shield is yours for the duration of our task."
Whether Adrimar intended to or not, he suddenly finds himself vigorously shaking hands with a tall, lanky young man with a disarming grin and green eyes that sparkle with a mix of energy and mischief. "Grigor's the name, adventure's the game, and by Helm I'm pleased to formally make your acquaintance! First time visiting Shihen?"
"It is," Adrimar replies, "Indeed, I'd not originally intended to be part of this venture, but distant Porst requires capital to reach. All too soon, I'd discovered that an apprentice barrister's purse would prove insufficient for the journey."
The service door is the most direct route, though it also would force the party to proceed no more than two abreast up a narrow staircase.
Lisette is fine proceeding in such a fashion in favor of speed.
If the party takes that route, please confirm the party order

[OOG]: If we decide to use new characters (or re-work our existing characters), are we using any race/class restrictions?

Just rolling up some new ability scores here (for transparency's sake). Will likely use them if my character revision is approved.

I managed to complete a character sheet for Gong v2. How do we share the character sheet or add it to the campaign?
