"My folks run an apothecary back home. Ointments and salves don't cover all the bills, so we do a little bit of bandaging of travellers wounds on the side."
Mattias looks around at the wounded and recouperating in the temple, "I'd be happy to lend a hand around here off and on. It's always good to keep your skills sharp, and I bet that there might be some spare supplies I could take to compensate my time? Not much, just enough so I have a few supplies when I'm out in the field."
"Anyway Kava, where did you learn your skills, you weren't so bad yourself."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tarkin takes the pad and looks at the drawing "You are quite the artist Jasper." Tarkin glances at Mattias. Then looks back to Jasper "But this will give us an idea of what to look for. We appreciate your help. Get well soon my friend" Tarkin walks over to Mattias and Kava and shows them the drawing "This look familiar to either of you. Even a passing resemblance?"
(OOC: I will make a Religion Check to see if its from any religious history: 4)
Wondering if the symbol might be some kind of military order, Mattias gives the drawing a good hard stare. Nothing comes to mind immediately, but he wonders if it might come to him in time.
OOC This is more me not being able to work out what check is appropriate. I think maybe Intelligence or Wisdom rather than a skill, looking for a DM ruling.
Kava nods, "I think we can spare some supplies as compensation for your help here. I learned my craft here at the temple and started here when I was really young." With Horace taken care of Kava moves on to check on Jasper's bandages. Mattias can still assist her, but Jasper's injuries are not quite as severe. Also, it now clicks with Mattias why Horace can be like he is. The ointment that Mattias helped Kava administer has made the tips of his fingers numb and it only seems to be localized to where the ointment touched. (If you are going for the military order, I would say that it would be an Int(History) check.)
"I hope it helps ya, I do. It be a shame to see more people hurt." Jasper says as Tarkin walks over to Mattias. Despite the drawing crudeness, Tarkin does find a familiar feeling to it like he has seen it somewhere before. It is like having a word or name on the tip of your tongue but just can't quite grasp it. Kava is currently working on Jasper's bandages and doesn't look up from her work.
While this is going on the door to the infirmary opens and a voice echos around saying, "Oh good. You guys are still here." Nadarr will immediately recognize it as Mehen's voice.

Unfortunately, Mattias doesn't recognize the drawing as any type of military symbol. However, he does recall that it looks vaguely like an old religious symbol, but the name alludes his memory. Kava lightly shakes Mattias' hand, "Me, or whoever is around at the time. Someone is usually around to tend to the infirmary." At this time Kava glances at the drawing on the pad, "I-I've seen that somewhere before... Ya'll wait right here." She gets up and quickly walks out of the room; passing another dragonborn that is wearing the uniform of the GoR and is carrying a simple, small wooden box and is walking towards the group; making a quick passing glance at Kava as she rushes past.

Hearing his brother, Nadarr turns around. “Indeed we are. We came to check on the wounded. It seems that these two have remembered an important detail. How goes the investigation on your end?”
Tarkin vaguely remembering something about the symbol but can't quite place it perks up when Kava seems to recognize it "Now we are getting somewhere." Tarkin rubs his hands together eagerly awaiting Kava's return.

Mehen walks up to Nadarr, "I don't know to be honest. Kriv had two of his more experienced guards take the... thing outside of town as the rest of us went back to the barracks. Kriv gave me this box to bring to you before he went to follow the two guards he sent out of town." Mehen holds out the box towards Nadarr, "Kriv says this is thanks for helping out with taking care of it and that hopefully these will be useful to you and your friend." Mehen opens the box to reveal two small vials with murky dull red liquid and a small pouch. The two vials are healing potions and the pouch contains 10 gold coins.

(Heya, sorry... Were you waiting on us to give a confirmation on whether those rules are fine or not? I thought we had already decided that before the game started, I remember you mentioning it before, and no one objected to it, and that might be part of the reason everyone got so silent all of a sudden. Or maybe not, that was my reason to wait until something was actually happening... Although I really should've appeared much earlier...)
(OOC: I was just reposting the information for quick access and figured there were not any posts because life got busy or something. I can continue on with the story if you all are still interested.)

Nadarr takes the contents of the box and he and Mehen move off to the side to have a quiet conversion. Kava returns holding a worn tome in her hands using one finger to keep a spot in the tome. When she reaches the group, she opens the tome up to the spot her finger was keeping and holds it so everyone can see. The page is mostly covered in calligraphic text but two things immediately draw attention. First, is a more artistic drawing of the same symbol, though faded, each of the five heads is colored; red, blue, green, white and black. Second, is the first word that starts off the text, which is all capitalized and reads Tiamat.
Tarkin looks at the books and sees the more intricate symbol. "Tiamat... Whatever that is can't be at all good. It does sound familiar. But regardless, its a lead and if its in this book, someone has more information." Tarkin steps away to think. "Who is the eldest member of the clergy?"

"Rhotrin is the elder here and he could answer any questions you might have. Though, Elder Rhotrin has retired for the night; so if you wished to speak with him y'all will have to come back tomorrow." Kava hands the tome over to Tarkin, "It is written in common. The style is just to make it look pretty." This section of the tome gives a description and brief history of Tiamat. As the group focused on figuring out that the symbol belonged to Tiamat, the evening has turned to dusk and what light that was passing through the windows of the infirmary has faded. Kava moves to light a nearby candle so that everyone can still see and the two injured guards start to put away their game of cribbage.
Tiamat cliff notes: Tiamat was a unique chromatic dragon, who had one head for each primary color of the most common species of chromatics. Each head was able to operate entirely independently of each other and had the powers of a member of the respective race of dragonkind. Her body also had traits in common with a wyvern, including a long tail tipped with a poisonous stinger. Tiamat's desire to conquer and rule have given her a long history with few victories but many defeats. Despite those defeats, she continued to plot and scheme to try and get what she wanted. It wasn't until the Wild Magic Crisis that Tiamat was finally sealed away into her own realm by those chosen by a few other deities to be their champions. However, some scholars believe that the sealing of Tiamat is what actually caused the Wild Magic Crisis too start. After Tiamat was sealed away, those that worshiped her either disbanded or were killed off. Any temples and worship documents that were to Tiamat were located and destroyed as to prevent anyone from releasing Tiamat from her prison.
(OOC: The Wild Magic Crisis is what made most of the world fear and turn away from the use of magic. It was something like the spellplague in the Forgotten Realms series, but instead of magic vanishing or not working; magic would go wild and have unintended effects.)
