***So basically it was cosmetic damage other than the windows being blown out. The thickness of the heavy beams making up the inn and the ceilings being as high as they are prevented the flames from spreading to the roof and catching fire. While if left unchecked or allowed to burn much longer, the whole place could have very easily burned to the ground. You get the feeling that Grin was trying to send a message and scare you all more than just straight kill you... also you think that if he had been allowed to hide the gems around the inn and then ignite them once everyone was sleeping... It could have been much worse as well....
The mend spells have basically repaired everything that isn't a window for the most part although many of the engraved beams now bare dark scorch marks. The lingering smoke smell os starting to dissipate since there is plenty of fresh air blowing into the inn through the windows and Smoke and Lex have been trying to replace the smell of smoke with the smell of cookies..***
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Good." Navek smiles pleasantly and lets go. But as Lex turned his attention on spreading the scent of cookies throughout the Inn, the goliath stares at his hand with a confused look about him. Twice... no, Thrice now he's felt a tingling sensation. At first he chucked it up to the healing power of the good sheriff's latent paladin powers or something. But...
Navek brushes it aside to help in boarding up the windows. But rather than relax inside, he takes his seat outside the front door, and takes a Short Rest there. If he sees Thimbol all banged up at any point, he gives a small, sardonic grin. "Hell of a morning, eh?"
If he's able to get through a short rest without further interruptions, here's the die(dice) rolls:
6.

Catching sight of Navek's grin as the halfling makes his way into the inn, "I hate you all." He grumbles, having never before faced so much risk with so little reward until joining up with this group. His life was countlessly saved and only in a few short days with nothing of real value to show for it. At least nothing he's been able to claim for his own. Sighing, he makes his way toward the basement.
The wolf from outside follows along behind the halfling, keeping its thick fur covered skull plastered to the side of the halfling. If the halfling sits, the wolf immediately leaps on to his lap and begins licking his face.
Thimbol would offer the wolf a pat as the two made their way down into the basement. He wouldn't sit, instead going to his makeshift laboratory to gather the vials of poison he had been working on earlier. Scooping them up and placing them within the bag of holding.
Coming out with a tray of hot tea to pass around to everyone and setting some on the ground for the wolf, heading to the basement entrance and calling down. "Thim, want some tea? I made a bunch, I will leave a cup here if you want some. Also one for the wolf." Heading back to the living room, "So, I think we did okay for a surprise attack. We may need to look into some better guards, maybe a nice gargoyle or two." Pointing at Lex before anything else. "No. I am pretty sure I know your thoughts, so just No."
"Way ahead of you on that one, Miss Lorarila. Trouble is we gotta take care of a troll fer that one."Navek says, carrying his chair back inside along with him. Apparently, he thought better of sitting outside when one or two hanger-ons stared at him with concern. "'least so the deal with Mr. Smoke goes. Granted, I had been leaning on the sides of house caretakers that... well, we didn't have to pay. Just maintain." He grins sheepishly back at the others, having crossed the room to set his chair back down.
"That said, I'm sure he'd be amendable to a slight alteration with that in mind." He waves off any offer of tea, but sits down at the main table. While he went about removing his armor, flinching sometimes from the pain of peeling flesh from leather and metal, he carries on in between easy speaking moments. "There's a lotta to be said, but again.. we're on another time crunch. First, I'm sorry bout yesterday. Can't apologize enough about that, but I'm gonna try in my own way when we have the time. Right now, I need to know what actually happened at the camp, and are those wolves of yours trained enough to hunt down our runaways?"

"I've no idea if the wolves can track anything," Sayre replies to Navek having been unable to find Mo. "I think we should talk about a village watch and post people at the entrances as well as organize an alarm system better where there's always someone on the bell," she adds settling at the table too.

**Sorry, Shaz had a busy weekend, Mo has just been around the inn, cleaning up and helping whoever needed help.**
Mo come over and sits at the table for tea. "**** birds. Amiright folks?" he says, taking a sip. "We gotta do buddy system all the time. No lone shopping trips, no solo troll hunts. If you're going somewhere, take a buddy. That's what Mo thinks anyway, maybe have the mayor make it a law or something." he says with a chuckle, although his face remains soot covered and serious.
Chip and Gus, who had been left behind to help secure the building would walk over to the table. "Speaking of the city watch... we both joined after seeing the good that all of you have done for the town. Seeing people willing to stand up against the. bloodscales inspired us to do the same... Perhapse you all could hold some city watch tryouts or a recruitment drive... It looks like you already have some training equipment..." Gus will say pointing towards where the equipment Blitzen had made was setup. "Chip will look at the wolf that had been on Naveks lap. "I have no doubt you could get this guy to do some tracking for ya.. you might need a something that belonged to the druid or sorcerer that attacked you though.. so it can follow the sent..."
Navek hasn't told anyone he went solo troll hunting. And Mo never saw him leave with the oil, or heard the deal about it till now. So for now, I'm just gonna ignore that part.
Also, retrieved my axe earlier during the clean up, if that wasn't clear!
Navek raises a brow, and folds his arms across his chest. Because he distinctly remembers a certain goliath having walked to the outskirts of town, and getting ambushed for it. But he says nothing, and only rolls his eyes at the suggestion of it being a law. But a temporary edict? That held enough promise to get him to rub his chin in one hand while the other continued to pet the wolf's own.
His expression hardens at the mention of the sorcerer. "Bastard did bleed all over the place. But between the cleaning and smoke, it ain't-" He stops and squints over to the corner office's direction. "Might be some bloodied rope over there. Good catch, Chip. And that's not a half-bad idea Gus. Think you two can get the word out once we can settle on a time?"He looks to the others gather and adds, "In fact, if the rest of you are fine with it, we can put some of that original coinage to upgrading what we have. That way when we do get proper recruits in, they'll have a bit more going for them than 'ol Gus and Chip had to work with."
"Not that you two won't get first dibs, as the kids say these days."

Sayre goes up stairs recalling the sorcerer dropped a staff and will retrieve it to be sniffed (idk). Holding it out to Navek she frowns.
"We don't have time to presue these people. We do however have time like Gus amd I said to expand the watch and the town's defenses," she adds leaving the table to do just that. "Chip, Gus with me. I'll put the word out. Anyone else care to join," sje adds leaving the inn to find anyone who can hold a sword or bow then to organize a 24/7 watch over town at whatever vantage points are able as well as to inquire about the coach that brought mayhem to thier door.

(So who is going around trying to recruit / train people and who is going to try to track down where Grin and the druid went / attempt to gather more information....)
**So Sayre Is taking Chip and Gus around town along with anyone else that wants to go. Sayre, give me a performance check to see how awesome your recruitment posters are as well as a perception check and persuasion check to spot able bodied villagers and persuasion or intimidation to convince them to join.... (Anyone else going with Chip and Gus can make the same rolls and once I have them I will give you a summary on your results. (You can roll the persuasion / intimidate check with advantage because Chip and Gus are helping)
***Anyone interested on attempting to track down where Grin and the Druid attempted to escape to let me know and I will roll some things for the wolves and stuffs!***
"I don't want to hunt a Druid in the woods, that's a good way to be ambushed or walk into a trap. I suggest we just start helping Sayre, more able hands and then we have to start getting gold. The more money the more we can do to protect everyone and grow. If you must go tracking, keep my Pups save and don't go far. Take Mo if he allows, he can probably make a sign if you need help. We don't need any deaths, I would go but I will if you think you need me. My magic is mostly used up but I can toss firebolts all day, but this will definitely be dangerous if we go." Sips tea and sighs, how did a simple seeming job become such a complex and annoying problem. The only real question is why are the Bloodscales obsessed with this place?
"Mo would prefer we all stay here, but if anyone needs a buddy to travel around with, I'm in. Maybe just fixing up the damage and toughing up or home would be the best idea now, Mo don't wanna chase no more birrrdds."

Sayre will grab some spare wood from the forge being built and board up the window. She then searches for Mo.
OOC: I can roll for the window repair but she is a tinker. I think that's pretty doable with the tinker proficiencies.
