"Waterdeep is the City of Splendors, so yes, there is something exciting going on every night," says Threestrings. "Granted, rarely does a carriage burst through the walls and disgorge murderous cleaning implements, so you caught the Portal on a good night. Or, rather, the Portal was lucky to have you here. I was helping contain the fire backstage much of the time, but I saw enough of you stopping the brooms and the thugs. All of us who keep watch at the Portal did," he concludes, nodding to include Blossom and Sarva.
Aerys chuckles, "It was only natural to help. What kind of people would we be if we just let an army of brooms take over the tavern? Besides, every woman loves to be rescued, even if it is from being attacked by a damn broom."
"...and some women are the rescuers, not the rescued" finishes Sarva. "Nevertheless, your point - and your actions - are appreciated. You saved lives tonight. Have you found about why they needed saving, tonight of all nights?"
You attempt to track the sound of the voice, as it does seem directional. It zips from place to place, rattling bottles and casks as it goes. At one point, as you strain to locate, a mallet (of the kind used to hammer barrels) detaches itself from the wall, and hurls itself in your direction. It does no damage, except perhaps to your tracking pride. You swivel your head in time to see a ladle hover, and cock back as if about to fling itself at you. "Get oooouuuuuu...." the voice continues.
"Oi! What are you two doing down here?" demands a voice from the entrance. It's owner, a heavyset middle-aged human with an apron and wine-stained hands, stares at you and puts his hands on his hips. The ladle, for its part, resets itself against the wall, and the voice stops abruptly.
“I know I have two people down here that shouldn’t,” he replies, with a skeptical eyebrow. “And I haven’t time for silly stories during dinner rush. Care to try again?”
"Silly stories? Look, you go fix dinner. We'll find and get rid of your ghost." He pauses, putting his hands on his hips, and giving the man a grin. "We've already saved the Yawning Portal once today, so let's just say we're on a roll."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing that his companion is not getting the best approach to the situatuion Dekket interrupts.
"Well good sir I am so sorry that we had startled you. With all that had happened today at the Yawning Portal is normal to be on the tip of our toes so to speak. We mean no harm and we are here just trying to be sure that everything is ok. You see, we helped as much as we could upstairs with the carraige and the flying brooms and everything... wait... by the look in your face... oh Godness... didn't you hear anything that happened upstairs? The carriage crsuhing with the outer wall and taking it down? The flying brooms trying to thore people into the pit? It was crazy I must tell you.. " as he speaks he approaches the man, no sudden moves and he keeps smiling " You should go upstairs and check with Durnan, he will tell you everything, things are calm down upthere you have nothing to worry about. We were sent here just to make sure that everything is ok downhere and we are glad that you are ok. You can go now, no worries, we will take a quick look and be upstairs in no time! Thank you! " he motions his hand, inviting him to go upstairs.
The man glares openly at Orynn, and looks fit to bolt upstairs to gather help, until his head snaps over at Dekket’s interruption.
”Aye, I saw the commotion upstairs, and I’m not ashamed to say I ran down here when I saw a friend pushed in. That’s how I know they’re no ghosts,” he adds, wagging a finger at Orynn. “But he’s alive, and Bonnie tells me it was strangers who pulled em out, so I’m going to do something I shouldn’t.” He walls over and puts three bottles on his tray.
”I’ll give you 10 minutes. It’s me job if anything is missing, so that’s all you get. Ten minutes, and then you’re out. And I’m going to talk to you when you leave, make sure you took nothing you oughtn’t.”
With a final suspicious glance at Orynn, he returns upstairs.
People in room:
“Not that I mind the quiet respite, but usually when people have questions, they are a bit more chatty” Threestrings says with a smile. Taking a draw on his mug, he motions to the stage “old Trapp seems to have found his rythym. He seemed out of sorts before.”
On stage, the mouse conductor does seem to have slowed his pace, and his glances to the upper floor have stopped.
Orynn is visibly sweating. He wipes his brow and gives Dekket a look. "Thanks. I ... haven't been comfortable in situations like that for a while." He glares around the room. "I'm not sure what that voice was, but I guess we're going to have to ignore it and look for whatever this message is supposed to be. The first was in a mirror, so perhaps look for something else reflective." As he glances around, the half-elf snaps his fingers. "Oh, and a torch." He quickly pulls a torch and lights it, despite the ones lit around the room. "Just in case," he comments before resuming his search.

Whatever Rue intended to say to Threestrings for information is immediately derailed by Aerys's comment.
He frowns and slowly says, "I zink most persons would appreciate rescue from certain death, non...?"
"...and some women are the rescuers, not the rescued" finishes Sarva. "Nevertheless, your point - and your actions - are appreciated. You saved lives tonight. Have you found about why they needed saving, tonight of all nights?"
OOC: Any response to Orynn's calling out?
Ooc: waiting for Dekkets action before taking another for Orynn
Orynn:
The moaning stops almost questioningly when you call out. After a beat, it returns, in common...
"Yeeeeessss, you will rue not getting out when you had the chance. Gooooo....gooooo."
Orynn attempts to find the source of the voice.

DM and Dekket:
"Did you know you have a ghost down here?" Orynn asks, still moving about and looking for anything that would give the ghost's location away.
