If there is a broom left Darruk will attack it because they suck. Attack 12 damage 9. If the last one is destroyed his movement will be to circle the pit to begin flanking (probably needs more than 1 move at this distance)
Grady calls out to his partner, loud enough for even Durnan to hear "I wonder, Dwindlejoy, if the proprietor approves of lethal weapons being brandished in his establishment? How far as the Portal fallen -- how far was Waterdeep fallen -- when a local pair such as ourselves merely attempts to get between a patron and magical danger, only to be rewarded with attacks, both physical and arcane, from strangers?"
Dwindlejoy responds by dramatically fiddling with his woulds and his ringing hears, then holding his arms out pleadingly to the bartender. (It should be noted, he does not have to exaggerate much -- he is significantly wounded.)
Leoros eyes Dwindlejoy with deepest suspicion, and steps back about 10 feet; the taller man makes no move to intervene.
I think we just rolled 4 natural 4s in a row trying to attack these pesky brooms. Fate, it seems, wants these brooms to do more damage! Also for the record @Greg On a previous turn I moved back with a disengage to Q6. He is free to use his crossbow without disadvantage.
Glory steals himself for another shot at the far broom (at R13): attack - 18 damage - 5, If fate is holding then the broom will live another round, he is ready to test fate NOW! The bolt shoots towards the broom ...
Glory's shot rockets past the first broom, striking the second one directly where the straw meets the handle, and it falls still. Darruk smashes the remaining broom heavily, and it teeters, barely on the edge of survival.
Yes, Glory's shot should have been at disadvantage, but these brooms have already proven too hard of hitters -- and too long lasting -- for an opening encounter.
Valafar's brow furrows at this stupid little game those two are trying to play. "Durnan's no idiot, and you two are broadcasting your ill-intent a mile away! Back off! Now! There doesn't HAVE to be more violence....but that doesn't mean I wont blast you back into last week!"He moves down a couple of spaces to stick with Leoreos. He'll also keep his blasting rod trained on Dwindlejoy, readying Shocking Grasp if he gets close enough to use it.
Blue Eyes recoils from the shake and takes a moment to clear his head. He curls his lip in response, and brings his axe down on the broom, first pinning it to the floor, then smashing it over and over until splinters alone remain on the floor.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Glory quickly sends a mage hand to beat out flames and looks towards Dwindlejoy and Grady. He raises his crossbow and loudly asks them "Gentlemen, it looks like our little Leoros is among friends. Is there something we can do for you? I would advise caution." intimidation: 17
Grady and Dwindlejoy look back and forth between these physical and arcane threats, and both stop. The shorter man says "you have your business, and we have ours. There is no need for violence here. We can come to an arrangement, certainly. What say you, Diwindlejoy?" Leoros backs further way, and the pair makes no effort to move towards him.
At this point, consider yourselves out of initiative. Should violence break out again, we can start up again at Saraba's turn, but players have made multiple verbal overtures.
Holding my action to see if Grady and Dwindlejoy decide to attack Valafar.
Please check PMs on held actions.
Saraba will ready his attack action. Dwindle joy attacking will be the trigger.

Lot's of stuff ...
Death to brooms attack 20 damage 9

Disadvantage, but I used a disengage action 2 rounds ago and I should be at Q5 and not Q9. I disagree (respectfully!!)

Good points...both the disagreement, the respectfully, and the shot!

The remaining, still clinging to whatever animation it calls life, takes a swipe at Blue Eyes 18 Damage: 6
Broom 1Broom 3As a reaction, Blue Eyes will use Stone's Endurance - 11
And then he is going to swing his battleaxe at the broom in retaliation Attack: 17 Damage: 12
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

Darruk smiles and walks around the pit, holding action until/if a fight breaks out.
Blue Eyes is going to stand near glory, his hand on his axe.

Darruk walks around the edge to put himself in the middle
Saraba continues to wait. Intently watching Dwindlejoy and his partner.
