Sky will take the ball of twine and the scrap of red cloth from the one she killed, then rejoin the group.

"No need to stay up all night and end up tired all day tomorrow, I will take second watch. But I think it would be wise to get any information we can now before it has any chance of escape, also we might want to speak with the farmer again and let her know everything is ok, at least for now."

"Good thinking." Kail agrees.

The woman looks disgruntled about the crater and being woken up.  “Still lost some of our crops, but hopefully the will think twice next time.”

the night is uneventful through the watches.  Early in the morning you are all awakened by the farmhand beginning his work.  Daylight is breaking and the sun beginning to crest over the treetops.  The kobold there lies asleep curled in a ball.

Kail awakes early after a restless night of light sleep and softly wakes everyone else up, before bringing them out side, away from the Kobold...

"So. I was thinking, we could do a good cop/ bad cop thing... except... we're all bad cops.... Don't look at me like that! Look, I can use my mind link to make the Kobold THINK he's being rescued or contacted by some godly presence..."

Kail then goes on to explain his mind link ability:

"You can speak telepathically to any creature you can see within 60 ft. of you. You don’t need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic messages, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language or be telepathic itself.

As a bonus action when you’re speaking telepathically to a creature within 60 ft. that can see you, you can give that creature the ability to speak telepathically to you until the start of your next turn."

"Hmm, maybe we should try one at a time, keep it unpredictable. Some of us good, the others bad. Sooner or later it'll crack from sheer uncertainty."

“Or we could just offer to let it go if it tells us where the ring is and why they’ve been attacking the farms more often. Not like we have to be meaner than we already have to it.” Sky looks around at the group, seeing what they think, her eyes sweeping from one person to the next.

"Very true." Kail says. "Why don't we go wake the little guy and see what we're dealing with." 

If everyone else agrees, we'll go into the barn, open the doors nice and wide, and wake the little guy.

"Hey, hey! You speak common?" Kail asks.

"That could work as well, but I doubt it will take us seriously if we don't show at least a little muscle. You know, just for show, not even to act on it."

"I don't think it will hurt if we try the direct approach first. Let's just go in and see what it has to say for itself. If it resists, then we can get creative."

Nizaren "yea but quick question did either of you think it was wierd in the slightest that they were just carrying dynamite around "

"Hmmm... I didn't think about it before as kobolds are very clever, I wouldn't be surprised if they made it themselves. But I'm not sure why they would have brought it with just to steal some crops."

Traxx wipes the sleep from his eye. "Why don't I try and talk to it first. I speak draconic as I am part dragon. It may talk to me as they worship dragons." Traxx holds up his hand showing everyone the scales.

Sol shrugs "Sure."

"That seems like a good idea to me, Traxx."

Traxx puts a hand on Kail's shoulder. (In Common: Let me speak to him)

Traxx will try and gain the kobolds trust by showing it the scales on his arm.

(In draconic: How are you doing? I'm Traxx. What is your name? Why were you in the fields last night? Have you seen or know anything about a ring like this?)

The kobold squints his eyes to see your scales.  After you finishing your questions he scowls and spits at you.

Traxx stands up. Wipes the spit from his robe. "Ah I see you don't know who I am." Traxx's dragon eye flares intensely and the scales on his arm and neck begin changing chromatic colors. Traxx holds out his hand, palm up. He casts acid splash but holds the floating gooey orb in his palm and holds it close to the kobolds face as he stands over the kobold. The acid drips onto the floor through Traxx's fingers and cinges the floor in front of the Kobold but doesnt harm Traxx "I carry the power of a dragon inside me. I am an avatar of Tiamat. It would be wise for you to answer my questions so you can get back to your warren." Traxx glares at the Kobold. "Or I will kill you and track down your warren and destroy it all."

(Kobolds worship chromatic dragons. Traxx is trying to impersonate a copper dragon which is why he is using the acid. He is trying to use the Kobold religion to get the prisoner to talk)

After seeing the terrifying display of power from Traxx, the kobold begins to tremble.  “Me.... Gormo.  Here for food, take back to others.  No ring, no ring!” He closes his eye out of fear.  “Karthaas, protect me.”

Traxx looks back to the others and winks "Gormo. Is your warren out of food? Is that why you've been raiding the farms? What about the royal garden? We found Kobold tracks leading from there to the town. Tell me what is happening around here."
