Gendal launches a firebolt at the last remaining stirge, and it explodes in the air and falls down into the hole.
**combat is ovveerrr, dun dun da daaaaa**
Durnan grabs an oil lamp from the wall and pours oil on the Troll, before setting it on fire. "Good work all, you fought well", he says matter-of-factly.
Yagra turns to all of you, "Thanks for the help, but I could have taken them" she laughs to herself before giving Karugur the secret Half-orc fist bump, and heading back to her ale.
"All threats eliminated.... VICTORY HIGH FIVE" SP will say in his monotone tinny voice, sheathing his swords and holding up his thin warforged claw-like hand as he twists back and forth looking for someone to acknowledge him.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Karugur Lvl 1 | Half-Orc | Barbarian
Looking over to Yagra, "You may well have been able to taken them but you can't deny someone the pleasures of a good fight." Putting his greataxe back onto his back Karugur walks over and peers inside. "It may be a good idea to cover this hole, not good for busines." He says, remembering everyone that ran out in a panic.

“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
Gendal bruised from the encounter uses control flames to move the fire over the trolls body in an attempt to look helpful while also checking it for loot.
Jalester Silvermane comes up from where he was hiding under a table and gives the warforged a high five. "Good on ya SP. Top notch work"
Karugur takes a long hard look down the deep dark pit, and doesn't see any other signs of the troll or stirges. To his comment, Durnan replies, "The hole is the reason for the business"
Once the troll is sufficiently charred, Gendal extinguishes the flames and you all head back to your table to finish your drinks.
Karugur, still precepting off that roll, sees a man making his way tjrouth the crowd of returning patrons and heading straight for your table. He comes up to you all and says "You be adventurers, am I right? I could use your help."
SO was just about to lower his hand... and his head when his high five was answered by his buddy Silermane. "I noticed that you were securing the area under that table over there while the fight was taking place... Good work Silvermane"
Before returning to his seat Karugur takes one last look at the empty bar than to what's left of the troll, "If you say so, but it still might be a good idea to put a locked cover over it." With that he returns to his seat and picks up his drink and takes a long drought.
When Glendal asks to stranger what they have in mind he chimes in, "What my friend means is, what do you want us to do and what's in it for us?"

The figure who approached you strokes his mustache, adjusts his floppy hat, and tightens his scarf. “Volothamp Geddarm, chronicler, wizard, and celebrity, at your service. I trust you’ve noted the violence in our fair city these past tendays. I haven’t seen so much blood since my last visit to Baldur’s Gate! But now I fear I have misplaced a friend amid this odious malevolence."
He grabs an extra seat and brings it over for himself, “My friend’s name is Floon Blagmaar. He’s got more beauty than brains, and I worry he took a bad way home a couple nights ago and was kidnapped — or worse. If you agree to track him down with all due haste, I can offer you ten dragons apiece now, and I can give you each ten times that when you find Floon. May I prevail upon you in my hour of need?”
**You all know that ''dragons' are what they call gold pieces in Waterdeep, because they have a dragon symbol cast into each one*"
I'm embarrassed to say I haven't, adventuring you know never enough time and never a scholar on the road...if you have a spare copy on you...but please tell us what you know of the disappearance. Where was he headed? Did he have any enemies? Anything may be of help tracking him
"Sorry, I don't have a copy on me, but I'll be sure to get you one. I last saw Floon two nights ago at the Skewered Dragon, a bit of a bawdy establishment over in the Dock Ward. Floon is a handsome man, a human, in his early thirties with wavy red-blond hair. He was dressed in princely garb when I last saw him. Here, take this to start, I appreciate any help you can give." and he places 40 gold coins on the table.
Well, we have a start. Do you know if he was there to see anyone particularl or where he was going next? As he speaks Gendal picks up a few of the coins, letting them slip through his fingers back to the stack before sliding his friends their shares. Hope nobody had other plans tonight.
After a good few minutes Dihek'nir picks his jaw up from the floor, wipes the spittle from his chin and silently says to himself, "Volothamp Geddarm!".
"Sir, sir! I'm a HUGE fan of yours! Would you please be so kind and sign my copy of your book? Please?" (OOC: I'm willing to sacrifice any of my equipment except the longsword to have a copy of his book! I assume it's the Volos Guide to Monsters?)
"And we will absolutely help you find your friend!"
Turning to the others, "You have to read it! The mindflayer chapter is especially interesting and terrifying!"
SP will grab 10 gold coins and begin flipping one on each of his metallic thumbs with precise movements so that they always land back on top of his thumb with the dragon side up before being flipped again. "Previous assignments would require me to kill the target I was tracking." SP will pause a moment, still flipping both coins in unison "Just locating your companion should not be a problem..." The monotone tinny voice would say.

With your first swing you slice it in half. One left.
On his turn Dihek'nir will cast Dancing Lights and arrange those in the portal so that the walls are illuminated to warn of new climbers.
Gendal readies another fire bolt in case in remain alive. As he does so he mutters Thanks his head still fuzzy from being out.

wizard ehh, I dabble in the arcane myself. If my friends come I'll certainly look for your friend.
"Ahh, a fellow arcane scholar, have you read my book?"
