Taking his share Karugur puts the gold in his coin purse. "If we do manage to find your friend is there any why we can assure him we are working for you? I would like it if his own rescue isn't hindered because he didn't trust us."

“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
SP will catch both coins and put them in his pouch before nodding to Volo and standing up from the table. "I am prepared to begin the hunt now you you are" he will say to the group.
Draining the last of his drink Karugur stands up. "Well, I say we go now. No reason to wait any longer. I'll be waiting outside for everyone." With that Karugur exits the building.

**I'm just going to roll a History check for all of you to see if you know where the Skewered Dragon is:
Dihek'nir: 7 SP: 4 Gendal: 19 Karugur: 18
So Gendal and Karugur, you've had a drink there once before, and you lead the way from the Yawning Portal into the Dock Ward area. When you get about half way there you turn a corner and find yourselves on a street that has been cordoned off by the City Watch. Lying on the cobblestones are a half-dozen corpses, seemingly the victims of some terrible skirmish. Watch officers have disarmed and arrested three blood-drenched humans and are in the midst of questioning witnesses. One of the officers sees you approach. “Get on,” she says. “Nothing to see here."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Good work officer. Gendal speaks while slowing but not completely stopping, hoping to keep the guard busy (performance 25 ). As he approaches the scene he looks at the bodies to see if they match the man his friends are looking for and generally taking in the area. Perception 22Already got your man have you?
E5P10NAG3 will also look around at the bodies and the people being arrested to see if can spot anything out of place. Perception = 20 (that should be a 22... it is supposed to be +5 not +3)
Looking over at the bodies Karugur can clearly see there is something to see. Half a dozen corpses isn't just nothing. Whispering to the others, "Why do they always say that? As if half a dozen corpses is nothing." Addressing the officer who spoke to them, "Sure, nothing wrong over there. Do you happen to know away around this 'nothing'?"

As Karugur approaches and begins speaking Gendal continues to distract the officer and look around while making quick glances at the nature of the victims wounds. Medicine? 12
*walkin g to the boundary and along it a little black and forth almost pacing, being chatty talking with my hands keeping eyes on me, very flattering to the officer and just excessively friendly which given my race should draw some attention. Not trying to physically intrude just toeing the line.At least letting me look around as close as possible maybe letting the others do more if all eyes are on me*
As Gendal talks he casts prestidigitation and opens his had showing what appears to be a badge of office from a nearby city's watch. yes, good work indeed. he says quickly putting the "badge" back in his pocket and continuing to pace
So there is about a dozen officers in this area, and it looks like they've got three human men disarmed, and kneeling on the ground with their arms shackled behind them. Some of the guards are questioning citizens that may have witnessed the incident. The guard you've run in to says to Karugur, "It was just a fight that got out of hand. Please keep moving along." and she holds her arms outstretched to keep you back.
It looks to you all like what she described is most likely what happened, the bodies all appeared to have died in a fight with each other. You can see cuts and slashes on different parts of their bodies. And there's a blanket laid out on the ground with a several short swords and daggers on it, presumably taken from the victims and perpetrators.

"Good thinking Karugur" SP would chime in, turning his head towards the Half-Orc.
Yes, a personal trinket or knowledge only you would have.
Volo pulls out a pen and signs Dihek'nir's copy of the book,
"Thank you for searching for my friend Floon,
-Volo"
"There, show him that, he'll recognize my handwriting"
Perfect. Anything else or should we depart?
Volo says, "I will remain in or near the tavern here, so you'll know where to find me if anything turns up."
**any more questions or are you guys ready to go? Its only early evening if you want to go now**
SP will catch both coins and put them in his pouch before nodding to Volo and standing up from the table. "I am prepared to begin the hunt now you you are" he will say to the group.

Still a little sore from the fight Gendal rises and heads for the door. I suggest we start at his last known location.
Dihek'nir will follow the others quietly and treasure the memory of meeting his idol.
