"Are those children locked up in the stocks? Why? And did you guys see that big building, and what's the place with the "B"? So much to take in, here."

Wijen walks alongside Lae and quietly says, "Holding this anger is sure to only harm you more than it is to harm him. He will not be able to feel the same convictions and pain that you will."
(Sorry missed this).
Lae grunts, "You are right..."
His shoulders visibly relax, "I can rest easy now though, as next time I believe he will think twice about doing something so foolish."

"This is concerning... why are pikes being provided and children required to attend? I do not like this."

"There is nothing wrong with any immediate action of anger. Just live now so that you don't make yourself suffer because of the unchangeable past."

"Perhaps they live for the infinite now and have no concept of time. If so they may be more awake then I thought, but they are very clumsy about it. Very un-zen."
"I have no idea what's going on, I just know there's no reason for a child to be in stocks. Let's get some answers."Zander approaches the crowd and asks a random person why the people are locked up in front of everyone, or what is basically going on.

Wijen asks "Why are these people made asses of?"

His shoulders visibly relax, "I can rest easy now though, as next time I believe he will think twice about doing something so foolish."
"Made of asses?" Lae frowns, "You mean made to look like asses? Perhaps because it is how they acted?"
"This is concerning... why are pikes being provided and children required to attend? I do not like this."

Wijen laughs. "You're going to like the word play of zen my serious friend."
As you stand looking at those in the stocks, a man enters the town square with 2 men of the city guard. He orders one of the guards to tear down the proclamations and the other to replace it with the following one:
"COME ONE, COME ALL,
to the greatest celebration of the year:
THE FESTIVAL OF THE BLAZING SUN!
Attendance and children required.
Rain or shine.
ALL WILL BE WELL!
--The Baron--"
Wijen chuckles "These people change mind faster than a goldfish forgets."
Lae simply pulls his hood down over his eyes.
"A gold fish... sounds valuable," Lae says as he removes his hood once more.
"Perhaps they are proclaiming every event as the greatest celebration of the year and this is merely the next one?"
"Perhaps they live for the infinite now and have no concept of time. If so they may be more awake then I thought, but they are very clumsy about it. Very un-zen."

A woman looks at you. "They were arrested for 'malicious unhappiness'."
"This is ridiculous. We have to stop this madness." Zander looks at his companions to gauge their reactions.

Wijen seems amused at the ridiculous spectacle, but has troubled fascination at the phrase "malicious unhappiness". "What is malicious unhappiness?"
"Would this treatment not continue to make them unhappy?" Lae voices.
She chuckles nervously. "No. Not their unhappiness. They were spreading negative opinions about the upcoming festival."
"And what is the upcoming festival about? What happens at it that they might have negative opinions about?"
