Something's not sitting right with me. I don't hear a monster, I hear chanting, so either they are subduing the monster with chants, or there's some kind of ritual going on down there. On top of that, the kids said they won't come back in with the monster, but their parents "KEEP" it in the basement? Doesn't that seem odd? Do you think we're being led into a trap?

Embir shrugs. "I have a spell, but I can't cast it, I just don't have the energy." She goes to the alcove and tries the doors. "Guess we just try all of them!"
You enter a wood paneled dining room. The center piece is a carved mahogany table surrounded by eight high-backed chairs with sculpted armrests and cushioned seats. A crystal chandelier hangs above the table, which is covered with resplendent silverware and crystalware polished to a dazzling shine. Mounted above the marble fireplace is a mahogany-framed painting of an alpine vale. The wall paneling is carved with elegant images of deer among the trees.
Red silk drapes cover the windows, and a tapestry depicting hunting dogs and horse-mounted aristocrats chasing after a wolf hangs from an iron rod bolted to the south wall.
Through this door appears a kitchen. The kitchen is tidy, with dishware, cookware, and utensils neatly placed on shelves. A work table has a cutting board and rolling pin atop it. A stone, dome shaped oven stands near the east wall, its bent iron stovepipe connecting to a hole in the ceiling. Behind the stove and to the left is a thin door.
As you walk back into the main room (the grand hall with fireplace and spiral staircase), you see 3 other doors. As you face the fireplace on the west wall, there are 2 on your right and 2 across the hall on the left (although one of these is the double doors you originally entered the room from when you first entered the house).
Necros, the children still huddle together in the portico just outside the house's front door.
This oak-paneled room looks like a hunter's den. Mounted above the fireplace is a stag's head, and positioned on the outskirts of the room are three stuffed wolves.
Two padded chairs draped in animal furs face the hearth, with an oak table between them supporting a cask of wine, two carved wooden goblets, a pipe rack, and a candelabrum. A chandelier hangs above a cloth-covered table surrounded by four chairs.
Two cabinets stand against the walls (one on the east wall and one on the north). The one on the east wall has a lock having on it.

“Could be Zander. I don’t know much of the art around detection spells.. anyone else?”
Embir shrugs. "I have a spell, but I can't cast it, I just don't have the energy." She goes to the alcove and tries the doors. "Guess we just try all of them!"
That's as good, or as bad a plan as any. Let's stick to one at a time. We don't know what's in here.
Zander aims his bow at the door Embir is opening and readies his action to attack if any monsters come out.

In the alcove, there is one door in front and one to the right.
Embir opens the one on the left.
Embir frowns. "No monster in there I suppose." She opens the other door.
Open that little door, I'll have an arrow ready. Lae, Zenn, Necros, get ready.

She nods, and moves forward towards the slim door to open it.
Lae hefts his mace, “Ready for some smashing - if required” He says.
You open the door to reveal a well-stocked pantry. The food looks fresh.
"Ugh. So much for that." Embir closes the door back up.
Zander sighs. Well, two more doors to try.

"Well thats a bust,i am going to check on the kids" nectos leaves to chat with the kids.
Embir walks back out into the hallway, to open another door.
Lae goes to the door adjacent to the one the party entered through, “Come now this must be the way down...” he mutters aloud.
