The spellbook you were looking through at breakfast is interesting but unfortunately of little use to you. Your magic is rooted in your draconic ancestry, and spellbooks like this are intended for magic users who learn magic through practice and study. It's like worth something though if you can find someone who could use it.
(I forgot to address this earlier)
Renaer walks over to sit with Sizan for a few minutes while you're looking around and then comes back over to the group. "I do hope that you will consider restoring this place. In fact to encourage as much, as well as to thank you for your aid yesterday, I'd like to offer you 500 dragons to contribute to the renovations". He hands Gargan a letter with his signature and seal on it. "Show this to any of the local merchants or tradespeople that you work with and they can then reach out to me directly for payment. For now I will leave you to your own devices - thank you again."
Volo nods, "I should get about my day as well - if there is anything I can ever assist you with do let me know. You can generally find me at the Yawning Portal or at my home in the Sea Ward." With that the two of them make their goodbyes and depart out the front door.
After inspecting the moving stool Cloudfur lights some grass and runs around the room with it.
Nothing happens, except perhaps some raised eyebrows in the room.
He heads back to sit on the second stool and as he does, in the dust on top of the bar in front of him he watches the words "Closing Time!" being written. Then a few seconds later the chair Sizan is sitting in turns and is pushed once rapidly around the fireplace (with him in it). It comes to a stop exactly where it was initially.
Suddenly, an old dusty mug which was laying on the bar is 'picked up' and carried around the corner. You hear some liquid being poured, and it come back out at hovers there for a moment, 10' in front of you. It suddenly pulls back and comes flying straight at your head. You just manage to duck out of the way, and the mug explodes against the wall across the room.
Watching the mug disappear, Dori waits as patiently as can be for it to return. Fingers tapping against the bar up until he sees it come back. When it flies towards his head, only to crash against the wall in the back, he growls lowly. "If you could make it in my hand next time, Chief, that'd be great. I'm not the most patient, and I have a proclivity for catching things on fire. "
"Much better." Dori reaches for the mug in one hand and in the other place a single dragon piece on the counter. Without a second thought, the goliath would throw back the aged drink as if it was a refreshing taste of glacial water.
Sizan had been looking pensive since he joined Dori. For awhile. Then, the whole chair thing happened making him frankly been too stunned to even want to act for awhile. The feeling fades as he looks over to Dori and sees him kick back a second drink. At which point the Yuan-Ti finally lets out a held breathe, cautiously gets out of his seat, and simply state, "So, you fellows enjoy your time. I, however, am going to go upstairs now, and just write this area for me. Enjoy your drinks."He starts to walk off outside on his way upstairs, but stops to say, "Oh, and I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to guys out somewhere for a bit entertainment, and.. to meet a friend of mines." He doesn't linger for a reply before following through with his plan.

As long as Dori keep drinking the vile drinks, the ghost keeps refilling them. The gold coins pile up on the bar.
After a little while, the ghost seems to wander around and straighten up a bit. It rights a few chairs, moves a couple of tables and even finds a filthy rag to wipe the bar down. If you didn't know better, you'd say it was happy someone was there to drink!
Sizan you wander outside and find another set of stairs around the corner. You walk up, unlock the door and walk in to a large, but empty, common room. You walk around a bit - all of the rooms up here are devoid of furniture, but other than that it's in similar repair to the main floor. There is heat coming up the fireplace in the common room, but the other fireplaces are cold. Like that one is above the one in the taphouse.
(For simplicity and expediency, here is the map of the whole place)
He wanders back to the bar and sees the writing in the dust.
"I wonder spirit, do you have a name? If we are to live together it seems only fair to know each other. I am Cloudfur, this is Dori, Gargan and the one who just left is either Yazara or Sizan." and he watches the dust for any response.
@Eremis I knew I should've read the fine print! Curses!
Sizan Sidrosin
After giving the place a once over, Sizan takes his books and start making notes of his finding thus far: including things to purchase as soon as possible. The word 'Firewood' in his book his circled several times before he puts everything away, and begins making his way up to the next level(3rd Floor). Along the way he pulls out his fancier dagger in hand. Just in case. And upon reaching the top, makes his way over to the door to the right fo the stairs (Library and Study).

Gargan is watching the stool pull up beside Dori quizzically as Raener hands him the letter. He turns to Raener and says with a nod "Thank you friend. It was our pleasure assisting you and it will be our pleasure again when next we meet,"
As Yazara, or is it Sizan, departs he continues to watch Dori and Cloudfur's antics with great amusement, studying everything that happens hoping to find a glimmer of insight into these strange occurrences.
Also, don't worry I know I can't use the book...yet ;) I wasn't intending on prompting a response but I've got some plans for it in the future, Gargan is of course very curious about it!
Gargan: Though it's difficult to know for sure, you're pretty sure you're just dealing with one ghost that is probably bitter about something (which may be the reason it's hung around). You also think it's notable that it became more agreeable once it started serving Dori drinks. Perhaps it likes that someone is here to do that again rather than it going to rot. After all the only people that have been in here the past few years were either here to empty it out, or to harass the ghost trying to either get rid of it, or study it.
"I think you've made a new friend Dori. If my guess is right this poor fellow is displeased that there isn't more drinking going on."
He mulls this thought over a moment longer before continuing to Dori and Cloudfur: "Since our friend Raener has been quite generous in offering us assistance in restoring this place why don't we get it re-opened as soon as we can? It will be good to have a safe base and a steady stream of revenue to boot." Turning to Cloudfur in particular he adds finally "And while I do like the sound of Cloudfur Manor I've had another thought for the name having seen that our spirit friend here has taken a liking to Dori. How about "The Goliath's Companion"? There is no need to banish our mysterious companion if we can make everyone happy after all."

Dori simply sits at the bar, unphased by the house redecorating itself. Though if he doesn't get a drink soon, he may start helping.

It picks up another mug and goes off into the pantry again to fill it. It comes to rest right in front of you.
It looks and smells like ale that has sat in the open for about 5 years too long. In the dust beside it is written "Drink up!"
