The firbolg replies: "Her name is Maxeene. She's an old girl but strong and reliable. We shouldn't stand too long though - best to keep moving to keep her warm. Unless yer payin', in which case we can stay here all day if you want". He clearly has his priorities.
Cloudfur will toss 5 dragons to the firbolg while he talks to the others about where they are heading to and gives Maxeene some nose rubs and speaks softly to her in druidic before making sure the firbolg is distracted enough to switch back to common
[whisper] "Hello Maxeene, I am Cloudfur, druid of Silvanus, the Harpers have sent us to find out if you have seen or heard any Zhent operatives in the area."[/whisper]
"Whosa good horse, yes you are Maxeene!" nose rubs "You are a fine steed I would be honored if you were to take my companions and I to our destination!"
[whisper]"any leads you have would be greatly appreciated"[/whisper]
"Oh dear. It seems the Tabaxi intends to hold you true to your word, Mr. Fairchild." Sizan notes, though noting any startled or surprised look from the firbolg prompts a quick, "A heard about you. Well, more specifically, about a Firbolg known for working the Dray system. And admittedly, it quite piqued my interest considering what little I know of your people."He raises a hand.
"Giant-kin, right? You wouldn't also happen to be related to Dori's people here?"He gestures over to Dori who he hoped and pray wasn't marveling at his own muscles at the time. "I am Yazara, by the way. Traveling Scholar and self-proclaimed Warrior Poet."He says animiatedly, offering a hand for a shake at the end. "Not a very good one, mind you. The Warrior poet, that is. Though I aspire to be. T'is part of why I came to Waterdeep, in fact. Many cultures clash here, as I understand. Which brings me back to my fascination in knowing of your existence."

As Sizan starts talking with her driver Gargan comes over to join Cloudfur and says quietly “This should help keep you warm in this winter air.” as he casts prestidigitation on her harness to warm it up.
(@Tanzier I would lobby for using persuasion as Sizan is genuinely interested in knowing more about Firbolg. Unless it is about his name.. then in which, curse you Sizan and your habit of lying about your name! Either way, this can only end in tears..)
(This is more about your ability to run interference long enough, and effectively enough, to keep his attention away from the cat and dragon that are trying to talk to his horse. Really, you couldn't make this stuff up!)
Dori stands off to the side, watching the others do whatever it is they're doing. It didn't really look like there was much he could do to assist without being some sort of distraction or muscle. Neither seemed appropriate.
Sizan handily chats up Drayson and he's paying no attention to either of you. The horse neighs softly as the harness warms - a gesture she clearly appreciated. She looks around behind her to make sure the Firbolg is distracted, then leans her head towards Cloudfur and says quickly, and quietly "I'd hoped someone would check with me. Two days ago we picked up a sun elf and a half-orc - seemed like his bodyguard, and dropped them off right here. They talked about hiring spies to find Xanathar hideouts in the city. I'm sure they were Zhents. The elf was tall, thin, long blonde hair. The other was a very tall blue-skinned half-orc, female. I've seen the orc around here quite a bit but never seen the elf before. Didn't catch names. Now let's go before we draw any attention".
It's a bit of an unsettling experience hearing her talk. And I mean talk .. like in completely plain and properly structured common that would come out of any intelligent humanoid. You're not sure what combination of events led to her existence but whatever it is, it's extraordinary and makes for a hell of a spy.
Maxeene whinnies and pulls on the cart a bit to try and tell her driver she wants to get moving. Drayson turns and pulls firmly on the reigns to halt her. "We better get going or old Maxeene here is going to take us anyway! For what you paid I can take you out to the village if you like - there's usually someone out there wants a lift or a delivery back here anyhow."
"Most unfortunate, though. But, perhaps if you're willing at another time we may converse again, Mr. Fairchild." On that note, Sizan will go or motion to Dori to get on if he had dozed off at some point before climbing aboard the wagon. If possible, he'd request Cloudfur and Gargan to spill the beans if they could do so quietly. But if not, he waits and suggests the others to do the same until they reached the village.

You pile in the cart and begin the journey out. At the gates there are many questions from the guards, as they don't often let people in or out during this time of year. They agree to let you pass, having heard of the incidents you are going to investigate, however they affirm that they will not let anyone back through after dusk. The gates open, revealing a frozen wasteland. There is no path to be seen - buried under at least a good 12-18" of snow. Drayson elects to remain. "I'm sorry friends but I feel it best if I remain here. This cart would not be able to pass the terrain out there right now. You seem well equipped to travel on foot and it is perhaps only an hour's walk to the village from here. I wish you luck."
You leave the city, and the gates close behind you. It is cold, but the sun is shining and the wind is low so it is fairly tolerable. You can just see the village on the horizon and press on towards it, rounding down around the sharp cliffs outside the city. You make slow progress in the deep snow, and the travel is tiring. It winds up taking you around 2 hours to get to the village. Once there you find a small village with around 2 dozen homes, a couple of small shops and two taverns - the Rusty Hinge and the Bard & Bull. Smoke rolls from the chimneys on most buildings, but you do not see a single living soul in sight.
Looking out on the horizon you can see farmhouses sparsely populating the landscape in all directions. Indeed you passed a few on the way here.
As Cloudfur relays the information Gargan keeps his warm clothing pulled tight around himself, a quick glance in Dori’s direction makes him feel silly as the Goliath is dressed as if it were summer. He has been making liberal use of prestidigitation to keep his and his companions clothes warmed in the icy conditions and finishes another enchantment as Cloudfur finishes. “Curious, do we think this half-orc is the lady from our encounter with the troll?” Looking to Sizan whom he realises will be none the wiser he adds “We participated in a brawl at the portal a few days ago, when we acquired the job to track Mr Blagmar in fact, and a Troll emerged from below. ‘Twas a quick encounter but I believe I overheard the half-orc refer to her assailants as Xanathar’s now I come to think of it.”
Dori can't help but think of home the further from the city they go and the more snow that surrounds them. Once on foot, he doesn't mind taking the lead. It at least giving him something to do. The long journey a welcome challenge. The cold a passing thought.
"I watched the brawl, if that counts as participating. I did join in once the troll emerged. A worthy opponent that I feel unlikely to meet again." Dori commented with disappointment
Even with his clothes warmed Sizan all but wholly refused to unwrap himself since disembarking: except to bid Fairchild goodbye. Warming his clothes did little to stop him; but, Gargan is given an awkward head nod in thanks as they moved along the way. "By Auril's frosted tits it's cold."He complained at some point during the journey. While talk about the Zanathar's guild's movement sends him into deep thought, hearing of a prior encounter is enough to raise a brow.
"Hm. Unsurprising given what's got them all recently stirring. And if their looking for spies to work for them, it could be a point of egress to learn more... Though one I won't be able to personally take advantage of." He admits before glancing over to Dori. "I would not jump to such conclusion, Mr. Dori. At the rate things are going, you will find a number of worthy opponents. Just have to be patient." He starts to lift his hand as if to pat Dori on the shoulder, but thinks better of it by lowering it. "In the meantime, these scarecrow monsters might prove a good appetizer."

The Tabaxi gleefully bounds through the drifts in Dori's wake. Occasionally he'll pause, tilt his head and dive headfirst in to a snowbank only to come out looking disappointed.
"Is this what it's like where you come from Dori? Tell us of your family. This snow should make it easy to track a scarecrow, unless they can fly....."
Dori forgot what they were doing or maybe wasn't told, but follows along silently
The firbolg replies: "Her name is Maxeene. She's an old girl but strong and reliable. We shouldn't stand too long though - best to keep moving to keep her warm. Unless yer payin', in which case we can stay here all day if you want". He clearly has his priorities.
