"Yeah, lets go on foot from here, horses are too loud. Aren't you Princess? Yes, you are a loud horsey." And Daar will pick a spot away from the road where she can tie up her Midnight black NightMare.

Flip will look to the others... "Hey guys, I have an idea.. give me a few minutes OK?" After Flip ties up Herbert, he will hunt for a small twig and cast locate object and focus on the carving knife that had been described to him and his friends.
I think I can unless you don't want me to then I wont
Describe or name an object that is familiar to you. You sense the direction to the object's location, as long as that object is within 1,000 feet of you. If the object is in motion, you know the direction of its movement.
The spell can locate a specific object known to you, as long as you have seen it up close--within 30 feet--at least once. Alternatively, the spell can locate the nearest object of a particular kind, such as a certain kind of apparel, jewelry, furniture, tool, or weapon.
This spell can't locate an object if any thickness of lead, even a thin sheet, blocks a direct path between you and the object.
OOC: The phrase ' that is familiar to you" to me means something you've seen before. As a player and DM I've only ever seen/allowed this to work on objects your PC has actually seen but I can see where you could locate any carving knife. Also, you're too far away from the farmhouse to start the spell. The party won't reach it within the 10 minutes it allows. I said it would take another 30 mins to reach the farm remember and Y'all are still sorting out stealthing there or not!

I think we all agreed to stealth :P that is fine if If I cannot use it. I was mainly looking at the part I had highlighted in bold, basically going to ask it to help me find a carving knife like the one described. No big deal. I vote stealth :D
Trying to approach stealthy however is unachievable as the noise of the animals makes even the white ravens scatter! The party comes upon the farm house first. It's not large and looks from the outside to have only two large rooms. It was once quiet a finely built house but has since fallen into disrepair. The yard outside of the house too seems littered with various items the party notice on thier approach. There's a field directly in front of the house too with a cross in view. Something odd one would think being in a field alone.
How do you proceed?

Daar has an odd feeling in the back of her mind as if time is running out, so she takes off in a sprint and kicks open the front door of the house, "For Adventure!"
Making a few creatures scurry into the darkness they had come to thrive Daar finds nothing immediately amiss. It's just a darken farm house. The widows seemed to be boarded up from...within!

**Okay, let me know if i cant do this, I know we just had a discussion about it, but Daar also has Locate Object. Can Daar 'locate' the nearest scarecrow?**
"I just love scanning for Scarecrows," Daar says as she pulls out her lute. She begins to very half-assedly play a tune and sing, "Scarecrow ... you tiny little scarecrow ... you precious little scarecrow ... where are you?"

Kip would take a long look towards the cross but would follow Daar into the house.
