As the creature materializes out of the bush, Lukian immediately holds Dawnbringer out at a 90-degree angle to his body (to the side) in order to warn the creature, but not appear too threatening. Holding his shield in front of him, high enough to just peek over the top, the elf replies to Toruun, "Hold." Then, raising his voice, he calls, "Hold, creature! We mean you no harm, so long as you mean us no harm. What do you want with us?" If it does not reply, he repeats all of that in Elvish, Giant and even Celestial.
The creature does not respond to Lukian. Lukian and Toruun are both back with the party at this stage. To Ebonitus it thinks “why burn hurt you - it not hurt me” followed up with “what other one say?”
Upon Hearing Lukian, Ebonitus speaks up "I am communicating with the fiery one, at this stage he means us no harm." then he continues his telepathic conversation with the fiery one, "Our flesh is like those bushes that burst into flame as you passed by them. They were destroyed by the flame, as would we be. My Companion was trying to say hello but he could not find words in a language that both he and you understand and without communication, he is a bit cautious."

The creature once again responds to Ebonitus "you're flesh is weak then! Tell your friend - how is he named - that Mambo ya moto says hello back."That line of thought is then replaced with "how Mambo ya moto join with you if your flesh is so weak?"
Torunn watches the creature of crackling flame with interest, "Ebonitius! What is it saying? Does it know why it is here, because I find it hard to believe it got here naturally."
Ebonitus says to Torunn, "Good question, I'll ask him." And to Lukian he continues "Mambo ya moto says hello." To Mambo ya moto, Ebonitus continues to communicate telepathically, "You could lead the way through the night if you are travelling our way, and I will chat with you as we proceed. From whence are you from and to where are you heading?"

Ebonitus responds to Lukian "I do not know the language, we are communicating telepathically, i suspect some form of ancient language from the elemental plane of fire." To Mambo ya moto, Ebonitus continues "To enable the others to communicate with you, what languages do you speak or understand?"

"Suggestion: It may be more prudent at this point to request if they have a means of reach our destination on their own? If so, and if this being can be turned against our foes, at least the underlings of the giant might be dealt by this one, while we see to the rest." She finally chimed in, seeming at least somewhat secure in the belief the creature either meant no harm, or could be reasoned with to some extent.

Ebonitus replies to Lukian "Apparently not, I did ask him that."Then to D.O.R.K. "I believe he was probably summoned here from the plane of fire, for what purpose I do not know, I'll ask." He then continues his telepathic conversation with mambo. "Do you know why you are here instead of in the place of fire?"

Lukian retracts Dawnbringer's glowing blade and puts it away, making his own telepathic explanation to the sentient weapon. After showing the creature his empty hand, except for the symbol of Lathandar burned into the palm (the other is still holding his shield just in case), he waves the hand back and forth to see if it will mimic him.
The creature responds in Ebonitus' head "Mambo ya moto not know why it is here. It was playing with friends and then it was here!"
Ebonitus starts to pick-up emanations of anger and frustration - tinged with a little sadness - as the creature starts to think that he (Ebonitus) does not - like all the others - really want to be friends with him.
Ebonitus calls out to the others, "Hey all he really wants is to be back with his friends again, any idea how we can send him back to the plane of fire?" Then he communicates with Mambo again "I would happily be your friend, but we must be careful not to get too close to one another. Tell me, what do you usually do for fun?"

"None." Is D.O.R.K immediate and ready answer. But after spying Vark look up at her out the corner of an eye, the construct shoulders sink as if in a sigh. "At least any method that I know would require the strength to channel miracles beyond this one current capabilities. The same, I imagine, for the rest of you. But-..."She then looks to Devin. "If that being again cannot be convinced to aid us in our impending fight, then mayhaps Acolytes Patron Deity might know of other methods?"
