Sorry D&D Beyond has not been playing nicely with the Norfolk Island internet for a couple of weeks.
Illezenya provides Ebonitus, DORK and Devin with dark vision and the three of them can see what he is talking about. Those of the party with natural dark vision cannot due to their limited range see what Illezenya has described!
so what’s next?

DM - Storm King's Thunder - The Gods Respond DM - Four bards walk into a bar... Cracitus Tibicen (Tibi) - Aarokocra - Rogue [Swashbuckler] / Fighter [Battlemaster]
Do we see or discern any additional information now that we've moved to within 100'? What are the creatures - are they undead or demonic or something else? Do they seem to be working on or around something in particular?
The party creeps to within 100 feet. From this distance they can make out that the miners are a collection of dwarves and gnomes. They are moving very slowly however. A creature wreathed in flames appears to be standing guard.

Both Beedo and Vark readily ready their own weapons, seeming eager to follow-up on Torrunn's suggestion. Dork, on the other hand, appeared distracted in softly muttering a series of numbers. But eventually, she shudders and stops for a moment, before looking to the others. "This is yet risky for a number of reasons. But given our limited options for progression.... I must concur with Acolyte Torunn's suggestion." She whispers. "My own ranged options will be limited, and approaching any closer increases likely increase the odds of being noticed-. But, I can manage so long as everyone else can." With that, she pulls out her javelin and made ready to throw it at the fiery entity.

Ebonitus reluctantly agrees. "We have little option other than to advance. Let's hope there are not too many guards other than the one we can see. What concerns me is why are the Dwarves and Gnomes moving so slowly?" he whispers, "Are they under a spell?" He puts his light coin in his pocket and readies himself for action.

The goblins lower their bows, and so too would D.O.R.K allowed the barrel of her frost cannon to slide back into place in her arm as her eyes flicker from red to blue. "Little option? Have none of you prepared for..."She pauses, seeming to analyze the group for a moment, before then slightly bowing her head. "Foolish inquiry given expected mission parameters. Insuring more flexibility in the future will need to be accounted for."D.O.R.K proceeds to take out her javelin and passes it to Vark, then turned again to the others while the goblin readjusted himself.
"It is more likely that extreme exhaustion from working conditions is involved, so we should expect no immediate assistance on that front. Now, let us proceed. Let us engage upon reaching at least at thirty or twenty feet at minimum."With that whispered suggestion, she waits but a few moments to see if there would be any further questions or counterpoints being made, before taking point in leading the group on quietly closer to the fire creature alongside Ilzeneya(?) and Vark.
(OOC: I know previously I mentioned a javelin, but after looking back at her sheet after so long, I realized that she specifically has the spell sniper feat and ranged cantrips for just such long distances)

Torunn grits his teeth, his knuckles turning white around the shaft of his maul.
"We should kill that guard and free the dwarves and gnomes..."
