(OOC - DDB has not been playing nicely all week and for the third time this morning I’m going to try and get a post up. So on with the story…)
First things first - James I hope everything is ok with you and your family after the hurricane.
The combination of the Yakfolk’s second strike and the blows from Pileorox’s rock hard fists is to much for Toruun and he crashes to the ground.
Devin and Mullo now find themselves three Yakfolk each with Mullo facing Yakfolk (#3, #4 & #5) and Devin facing Yakfolk (#6, #8 & #9).
So at the top of the round - well after Illezenya has acted here is the initiative order: Illezenya (acted), YF #8, YF #3, YF #4, Mullo, Ebonitus (unconscious), Devin, DORK, Vark (unconscious), YF #5, Torrun (unconscious), YF #6, YF #9 and finally Pileorox.
As Illezenya casts his spell he realises that there are six - not four - Yakfolk remaining. YF#4 and YF #5 are not impacted by his spell.
While Toruun’s flying motes of metal spatter have crashed to the ground - the same is not true for Devin’s blue stars which can impact everybody.
YF# 8 save against Devin’s spirit guardians = 9 less 1 for Illezenya’s bane
YF#3 save against Devin’s spirit guardians = 6 less 1 for Illezenya’s bane
YF #4 save against Devin’s spirit guardians = 20
YF #8 1st attack against Devin = Attack: 16 Damage: 15 less 3 for Illezenya’s bane and 2nd attack = Attack: 8 Damage: 18 less 3 for Illezenya’s bane
YF #3 1st attack against Mullo = Attack: 22 Damage: 17 less 3 for Illezenya’s bane and 2nd attack = Attack: 26 Damage: 24 less 1 for Illezenya’s bane
YF#4 1st attack against Mullo = Attack: 17 Damage: 12 and 2nd attack = Attack: 13 Damage: 14
Mullo is up next but as DDP is off line can somebody pls check her HP - I can’t access his character sheet here on NI - remember she is raging can somebody pls roll for her to hit.
The impact of the Bane is on the to hit not the damage - poorly drafted on my side. Question if Bane is in operation can somebody never to get a crit due to natural ‘20’?
(That is my understanding yes, if you are under a Bane spell, no crits for you )
(Sadly not by Raw. A crit is a crit regardless of modifiers involved, as none change the roll itself. PHB page 194 covers it under attack rolls. T'is also why a nat 1 (for attacks) is always a miss even if the modifiers(ie. the only way most chars past 5 can miss most Ooze) would otherwise be enough to overcome a creature's ac)
(@DDP: Oof! Sorry to here as well, but here's hoping all is at least relatively better.)
(@DM: Also, assuming Mullo's HP is up to date, she'd still be up with 16 HP remaining.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Ebonitus clears the fog that briefly shrouded his mind, he looks around and noting the situation, calls out to the Earth Mother "Once more restore vitality to the young goblin, Vark, we again need his vigour". He then brings the spiritual scythe closer to Pileorox and swings it at the elemental.
Action: cast Healing word on Vark healing him for 9 and incidentally 3hp to himself
Bonus Action: swing spiritual scythe at pileorox: Attack: 19 Damage: 8 force damage.
He then prepares himself mentally for the inevitable next attack.
(As the rolls do not have appeared here, I have performed them in the Game log: Healing word gives Vark 8hp, and the spiritual Weapon on Pileorox has Att:17, damage 8 pts force damage.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: Looking back, not sure where I got 'judged' character instead of Whatwall or Ebonitus, but man I must've been tired at the time.)
(@DM: Is it safe to also assume it hasn't been a full minute since the first elemental was banished?)
Between allies being whittled down to near nothing from overwhelming odds, and focus fire being less than present, D.O.R.K eyes began darting about the the tent for any and all divine inspiration to yet spare her fellows an early end.
Nothing.
She looked to the tent entrance, thinking of the prisoners freed up to that point. They weren't in the best condition, but surely they had taken the chance as well to arm themselves a tleast and...
And what? Snuck away to take their chances at escaping alone? Sought out other prisoners to free? Or were they the first to be cut down by the deluge of guards far faster to react than the construct had originally anticipated?
As more and more questions began to cloud her thinking, the light of D.O.R.K's eyes began to flicker for a second, before the red reasserts itself. "... Even in defeat there's opportunity... Rise, Torunn. Rise one more time." In uttering the command laced with divine power, Torunn would feel strength return and his focus rapidly sharpening from the Red Knight's grace. But more than a moment to see him beginning is naught what Red can spare without focusing again on the elemental... and letting it rain divine retribution upon the walking mountain as a localized rain of divine arrows. It was all she could really do least a frayed focus on her part lead to the freedom of the other elemental.
Bonus Action: Cast (1st level)Endure on Torunn, restoring 4 HP.
Action: Cast (Cantrip)Holy Artillery on Pileorox. Dex Save(DC 14) or take 9 Radiant Damage. (Includes Blessed Strike Bonus Damage.)
Vark gasps for breath as he's again brought back to the land of the living, and after a few moments, he rolls over onto his forefront spitting out blood as well as a tooth. But with a dogged determination to kill at least one more Yakfolk before biting the bullet, he leaves Heartbreaker behind and draws forth scorcher, and practically drags it along the ground on his way to a Yakfolk. And that's just what he'd do if it was to be the last thing he did!
However, if dioin so seemed impractical in the moment, then in remembering the words of the badgering elf outside Vark would turn his attention instead on freeing her.
Movement: Stand up from prone, and pursue #6(if possible).
Action: Scorcher on Yakfolk(#6). (Melee, Lethal)Scimitar - Attack #1: 20 Damage: 4 of non-magical slashing. (Melee, Lethal)Scimitar - Attack #1: 19 Damage: 4 of non-magical slashing.
OR(if he would not have enough movement to reach #3)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(On Ilezenya's turn)
The seven-pointed star spiritual weapon of the Dusk Warden pounds the elemental again, a steady striking staccato heard over the rest of the battle. Attack: 25 Damage: 9
Ilezenya maintains his concentration on the bane he imposed on the yakfolk, and sends a streaking flash of light towards one of the attacking yakfolk (Whichever he has line of sight and appears most wounded...) Attack: 25 Damage: 9 On a hit, the next attack roll made against this target before the end of Ilezenya's next turn has advantage, thanks to the mystical dim light glittering on the target.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Devin’s Spirit guardians cause YF#6 to drop to the floor of the Great Hall - however this leaves him facing YF#8 & YF#9 and YF#9 swings at him (Attack: 26 Damage: 13 and Attack: 19 Damage: 13) less 3 and 1 for Illezenya’s bane
YF #9 swings at Mullo Attack: 17 Damage: 17 and Attack: 26 Damage: 23 less 2 and 1 for Illezenya’s bane
Pileorox attempts to dodge Devin’s spirit guardians (15 less 3 for Illezenya’s bane before targeting (1-2 = Devin, 3-4 = Ebonitus 5-6 = Mullo) {4} (Attack: 24 Damage: 12 and Attack: 26 Damage: 17) less 2 and 1 for Illezenya’s Bane.
Toruun DEath save pls

That’s what I would’ve thought but did a search of net and it says difference. Nat 20 is not impacted by Bane. Interesting to see what others think

OOC: I completely missed that Dork threw Mullo her greataxe.
(OOC DORK it is only five rounds - but seems like forever - since you banished Tonodirt)
Despite both Devin and Vark’s best efforts YF#6 is still up but looking very wonky.
