"Hey lady, don't actually look at this... but... can you look at this? it kills anyone that looks at it..."The viashino will say as he pulls the cursed object out of his pocket and hands it towards the lady, leaving it covered with just a simple cloth napkin taken from the inn.
The woman turns her back to Shiv and Tak and removes the cloth, revealing the object. She utters a soft exclamation of horror. "This exudes an aura of evil and malice." She whispers. Then she covers it with the cloth and whips around, her silver hair gleaming. "You must depart here immediately." She declares abruptly. "Seek out my friend Ezekiel, a druid of some repute. His home is not far from the clearing in which you made camp this night." Her eyes are grim. "I wish we could have discussed more." Her voice softens, and she places a soft kiss on the cheeks of Tak and Shiv. "Good luck, travelers." She snaps her fingers and Shiv and Tak find themselves lying on their backs in a bed of pale white flowers. Leaves and Jevyn stand over them.
"The pool took us to a magical land filled with pretty women that gave us kisses... you guys missed out!"Shiv will say sliding his arms behind his head on the bed of flowers before giving his companions a big grin.
"He's not wrong." Tak would add smiling. Tak stands up from the soft flower bed and looks over at Leaves and Jevyn. "She said we should find a druid named Ezekiel who lives close by our camp"
"I like to eat chicken and I have a cursed thingy in my pocket I used to kill some thugs in the inn earlier..." Shiv would say with a grin as he pats his pocket.
"Nothing more than he's close by. Between me and Esme we should be able to locate him." Tak says then looks over to Leaves, "Put that thing down. We aren't dopplegangers. Let's head back to camp then Esme and I can scout the area from the sky."
"That's what a doppelganger would say..." She grumbled, sheathing her bow. Leaves folded her arms and waited to be led, probably into a trap, she thought.
(Well she knows you're a druid, unless you kept that a secret this whole time. If she knows you're a druid, then wildshaping would actually prove that you were Tak. Because it stands to reason that anyone taking your form wouldn't necessarily have any of your intrinsic abilities. You still might be an illusion though. :P )
"Okay Leaves, here's what I'm willing to do. I'm going to wildshape into my bear form and then you can stab me once.. only once. Would that help prove i'm not a doppleganger?" Tak says looking at Leaves.
I'm pretty sure it's you because Tak is the exactly sort of person who invites someone to stab them to earn their trust.
Secondly, if you wildshape, you're most likely Tak anyway. You're a druid, and they can change forms. It stands to reason that a person who took your form would not also inherit your innate abilities. Sounds like a poor thing to bluff about being able to do.
Finally, if you really are a doppelganger, then I'd prefer to kill you at a later time. When you aren't expecting it. So I'd pretend to buy your argument, and act friendly...right until the moment you let down your guard." She reasoned, sounding cheerful as if she completely bought Tak's argument and was friendly again.
It was possible this was a species of Kenku humor.
Shiv would stand up and dust himself off. "We can head back to camp and then look for the druid I guess" The viashino would say as he makes his way through the trees on his way back to camp

"Turned to dust? Hold on a moment, Seabeak." Jevyn examined the surface of the pool, trying to determine its nature.

"Before they died they left me all their stuff." Leaves added, wondering if she should kick Jevyn into the pond while his back was turned.

Startled, Jevyn takes a few steps back, possibly running over Leaves a bit. "Seabeak, they seem to be intact and covered in flowers."

Leaves gripped the string of her bow as the two approached. She eyed them suspiciously.
"....Jevyn, can you tell if they're real? They might be illusions or doppelgangers!"
"I like to eat chicken and I have a cursed thingy in my pocket I used to kill some thugs in the inn earlier..." Shiv would say with a grin as he pats his pocket.
Jevyn sighed, sounding a bit exasperated. "Well, I doubt that doppelgangers would know about the object. Did they tell you how to find this Ezekiel?"
"Nothing more than he's close by. Between me and Esme we should be able to locate him." Tak says then looks over to Leaves, "Put that thing down. We aren't dopplegangers. Let's head back to camp then Esme and I can scout the area from the sky."

(Not sure if using Wildshape would prove or disprove Leaves opinion of Tak.)

Leaves visibly mulled for a moment.
"Three points come to mind.

"Okay well then how about just a ride back to camp." Tak will say then wildshape into a Brown bear and motion for Leaves to hop on.
Shiv would stand up and dust himself off. "We can head back to camp and then look for the druid I guess" The viashino would say as he makes his way through the trees on his way back to camp
"I'll walk, thanks!"
Tak looks over to Shiv and Jevyn and shrugs his shoulders, as much as a bear could then motions to his back inviting either of them to ride.
