"Arial said that was elven," Lero mused, readying his weapons behind her.
"Lero, you're NOT helping," Buama sang, blasting her incredibly loud thunder cannon. This was one of the most chaotic battles the elf had ever taken part in. Normally, she attempted to hunt her prey silently. The banter and loud explosions would take a little getting used to, but Namura was in no way worried for her life yet.
"Maybe it's a regional thing?" Namura infused another five arrows with the aether, before focusing back on the battle at hand. In quick succession, both arrows hit the beast directly in the chest, mere centimeters apart. Now the ranger was back in business. "Some city elves have slang that I never picked up?"
Lero pants slightly from all of the sprinting, "I couldn't tell you either way. Didn't have much of a reason to pick up elven until now." Lero sprints forward to the elemental attempting the drive the dagger deep into it. The elemental's rock body melds forward and the strike completely misses. He then rolls backward, pulling a secondary dagger from his boot as he does and hurls it at the creature (9 damage) before rising back up next to Namura. "Shouldn't this thing fall soon?" He glares at the giant elemental as he says this.
Azi sees that the beast is in a weakened state, he watches as Lero strikes with a deadly accuracy gaining the beasts attention for just a moment. But a moment is all he needed. Azi springs forward dashing to the backside of the beast, and runs up it's back jumping at the end so he can reach a weak spot upon it's neck. He slashes with the force of a gale wind cutting into the back of it's neck, letting what we can only assume is it's blood spout out like a fountain. The beast crashes down upon it's weak as Azi lands beside it covered in it's assumed blood.
"Lero, thank you for creating that opening. I needed to pay it back for the cheap shots it got in a few moments ago. Not sure I could have taken that kind of beating again." Sweat and blood running down his face, he knows he needs medical attention. So he heads over to Flux and asks "Would you mind sharing one of those healing concoctions with me? I seem to be injured."
Buama slowly scans the area for anything to shoot at noting Azi's well aimed killing blow. Seeing nothing off hand she relaxes a little though she has her thunder cannon still at the ready.
"Lero, if you call anyone a swine-kisser again I'm making you go on a date with a pig. I have a friend who ...."
She grins without saying more or looking at him as she continues her scan of the area.

"Why would you need to learn elvish, have I not been an adequate translator?" the ranger asked as she lowered her weapon, breathing a small sigh of relief. Her bow returned to its place across her back as she began to make her way to the water's edge.
"Lero, if you call anyone a swine-kisser again I'm making you go on a date with a pig. I have a friend who ...." Buama piped up, her weapon still at the ready.
"Wait, is that what vanima means?!?" Namura said incredulously, stopping in her tracks. She wrinkled her nose and shook her head in disgust. "You otuuk fe'saign."
"Well, who is gonna carry the ladder? And we don't want to leave the rope behind." Buama points at the water that is perfectly still and happy as if no fight had happened. She's grinning as she waits for a response to that.
"I found a wyrm tunnel that seemed to lead upward?" Namura suggested, back in her element. People were confusing, but finding a path was always straightforward. "We could use your chalk, Lero, so that we could double back if we got lost."
While everyone else is contemplating how to handle moving on and how to mark the trail, she quickly goes for a swim and comes back with ropes that were in the water. She starts coiling them up and unknotting them as she hits both knots. The ropes are returned to their owners. She chuckles some about her ladder trick that was a waste, but well worth the fun of trying.

The party heads down the wurm tunnel, under Namura's guidance. Once again, the lives of her allies are in her hands, as she expertly guides then through the network of tunnels. Rumblings of various levels can be both heard and felt from all sides as they venture through the dark tunnels, trying to find a way out. Even with Namura's expert guidance, they find no open sky in the few hours that go by.as the traverse the tedious terrain. The tunnels seem to twist and turn, some heading upwards before going back down, some vice versa, in some spiraling, random pattern. The tunnels do seem to become less random, as the intersections and cross tunnels become fewer and fewer the farther they travel down a particularly long wurm tunnel, spanning about 15 feet in diameter. The traveling is quickly becoming taxing on their bodies, as they will need sleep shortly.
Off in the distance, a slight tremor can be felt. The tremors grow in vibration, as if something draws closer and closer. The tunnel starts shaking violently as the perceived wurm digs just below the tunnel the party is in. Soon after, the ground gives way underneath your feet, as rocks a debris fall down to an unknown depth.
With the ground giving way, Buama, Kraithee, and Duncan, for one reason or another, cannot escape the collapsing floor, and plummet down below for twenty-five feet, taking eight point of damage. Thankfully, those who fell are not buried completely by the rubble. The collapse seems to have opened up into another cave system, though one significantly smaller than from where you originally descended. Once the dust settles, you note the faint glow of aether geodes present throughout this new cavern. The tunnel you were traversing originally seems to have completely caved in, preventing access to continuing your journey in that direction.
"That was close," Lero stares at the caved in section of the cave from his perch on the side of the collapsed tunnel. After a moment he drops down to a smaller ledge and slides down into the new tunnel. "You all ok?" He helps up those that fell, staring down the new tunnel, "I'm assuming we go where the wurm came from rather than follow the wurm." Looking up at Namura, "Do these things ever reach the surface?"
The ranger was narrowly able to avoid falling into the hole, although at this point she was beginning to get frustrated with her inability to spot massive chasms in the ground. Luckily this one wasn't too deep, as Lero was able to slide down with ease. "Do these things ever reach the surface?" he asked, looking up at her.
"That is a very good question, but theoretically yes," the elf said softly, lowering herself to the ground so that she could sit cross legged. "Give me a minute." Namura closed her eyes, beginning to focus on the land around her. She felt the earth in her mind, searching for constructs within six miles. After a minute, she opened her eyes again. "The cave with the villagers is 5 miles away, eastward," the ranger pointed in the direction. "And a little bit up."
Buama accepts Lero's help to get out of the rumble. The first thing does is make sure Elto's lifecraft package appears undamaged. She sighs with relief thinking she took the brunt of the damage in her butt.
"Okay so we are about 3 miles west of the village where we started this tunnel mania on LL3." She looks around contemplating how far underground they might be. "There were a lots of ups and downs, but I think we are still about 110 feet lower than when we started tunnel exploring from LL3 of the tower. It's a wonder these wurms haven't caused more sinkholes at the surface with how much they seem to devour and leave nothing behind. Obviously they don't defecate the rock they are eating with how clean the tunnels are."

Duncan fell to the ground hard. Since the monster, his whole right side felt numb but he was to proud or worried to say anything. Keeping his pain in check he answered Lero's call, "I'm Fine. Just a moment." He began to move the rubble away from him and stood dusting himself off. "Yes perfectly fine." Seeing that Buama has been helped Duncan goes to Kraithee and begins to help move the rubble away. Once completed Duncan took in the closed space in strides. No point worrying about it now. "Out of the fire and into the aether pan eh?" He smiled but it was a weak one.

The group was traveling the tunnel maze when vibrations started to be felt, but no one payed it attention until three of them fell into a giant cavern after a cave in created by the wurms and the thin layer of land between the tunnel floor and the cave ceiling.
Kraithee falls and in a bad way getting hurt in the process so it stayed down a bit while the others started climbing down. Lero's question echos in its mind "You all ok? ", Kraithee could only think "Sure we are ok, we just fell into a cave with no exit and are almost exhausted! " but it didn't say it, probably is the exhaustion and pain getting into him.
I think we are all ok Lero, I think, but I am starting to get exhausted and would be good if we find a place soon to rest, I need to reconnect to the Aether once more. Namura, you think it would be safe to set camp in this cavern?
Said that Kraithee starts getting up and cleaning itself.
"This cavern looks like an excellent place for you to reconnect to the aether - look at those geodes!"
Flux excitedly runs up to them, running his fingers over them, before moving to an area slightly away from the group, and pulling out some tools.
"You people who sleep or trance would need to do so by now, or else you'll collapse, and us aetherborn would collapse soon too. We all need to rest for now."

Lero yawns and nods, "I don't really like the idea of resting in a tunnel that just collapsed, but there's no telling how long we'll be down here." After helping Buama get situated, Lero leans against the cave wall and watches Flux begin the process of harvesting aether geodes. "Should we make a fire or something? I haven't camped in a cave before, so I'm not sure how that works. Maybe the smoke will tell us which way to go? Maybe it'll just come out in the same tunnel we came in from..."
He kicks a small stone and watches it bounce down the tunnel, "If you had stuck around on that pillar in that giant cavern we could have just pulled you back up, Namura. Instead you had to get us all... worried that something happened to you." It was hard not to blame her for the current situation and he knew they'd all have continued into the cavern anyway, but it all reminded him of the first time he saw a crewman fall from the decks without a tether. "If you're going to take point, you should be more careful."
Namura sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "You are right, I have not done the best job as our guide," she said defeatedly. "If you would like, we can follow the chalk trail back to where we were before. It'll be long and tiring, so I would understand if you wanted to stay the night here. Since I have clearly not been making the best decisions lately, I'll leave that up to the rest of you."
