”I fear I must bow out of the drink competition. My lady wishes to see a dragon as part of our date and a dragon she shall see. I will be a part of the stealth mission if the team will have me.”
Leon turns to Hemmeth
”Master Hemmeth I would like a private conversation with you prior to leaving on this quest if you could spare the time.”
"Leon, my boy... you said you wanted to drink. I see it's the girl. It's ok. Have fun son, I be here having Ale and telling tales. You have fun and be safe..."
“Pops... it’s not just about the girl. There I things I have done that I must atone for. I must make things right before I indulge my own selfish needs. I do wish to share an ale with you and get good and wasted with consequences. I look forward to that day. Good luck in the drink competition my old man. May you drink like a dwarf, fight like bear, and live like a king.”
To the group, "Well I still haven't heard mention of any loot to be gained here in this festival of brew. I've never been one to back away from a contest gentlemen, but by the sound of it my skillset could be of some use in wandering thru the darkness. I'll partake in this search of the, Chumbaud was it?"
He looks to Hemeth, "if that serves to fulfill my end of the bargain of course?"
"While ninjas are masters of the unseen arts, I feel like this Grem dude might require the supervision of a mature and responsible turtle such as myself (grins and winks at Grem). Plus, Master Splinter never let me drink before so I figure I should get some partying in while I can!"
"Very well lad, I shall drink for the 2 of us then! Handle ye business then. oh, and if you happen to spot that dam thing we need to be finding for the captain fo the guard, let us know. If possible grab some he was touching, something that may have his scent if ye will. I may have a way to track him. (he winks, but does it terribly and just blinks).
To Mikey:
"Very well master chortle. Ye will learn from the best if ye drink with me lad! "
To Hemeth:
"If ye can spare some time, I'd like an audience with you and Lord Holderhek if it can be done?"
To elmo:
"Well master Elmo, ye coming out drinking or sneaking?"
Hemeth looks to Gremryl with an underlying message for the once trusted Dwarf and says,
Hemeth - "Aye, Grem. Words we shall speak. My father shall also have words with you as your clan has done much to push our progressive agenda with the Duergar of the old guard."
“Would I rather drink ye under the table mate? Or risk me neck to come face to face with a red dragon? Are ye daft?”
Elmo starts to strut confidently and says in a cocky tone to all,
”Then again ye did ask for those with a talent for sneaking. And there is no one sneakier than Elmo (Elmo puts a hand in his pocket and feels his pilfered pocket meats. A smile creeps over the halfling’s face). If it’s essential to the success of the mission that ye have my unmatched skill in the art of being unseen then I’ll go meet a bloody dragon.”
To Lord Holderhek,
“I leave it to ye me lord. I don’t know the fullness of the plan, so I will trust ye judgement on what path Elmo should take.”
Lord Holderhek - "Elmo, while I don't doubt your tenacity for consumption of ales, I would venture a bet that your mastery of the shadows would lend itself better suited to our plans to slip into Themberchaud's lair unnoticed."
“Grem since you are drinking and I am going to see the dragon, May I take the box from ELhutz? It might be worth a nice reward or a favor to the dragon if we return it.”
At the mention of a "box" Rowland focuses on their conversation. He is greatly interested to see if it resembles the box that was stolen from his family home and edges closer to Grem and Leon to get a look.
Gremryl nods at Hemeth in understanding "Very well"
To Elmo: "Bah, another time elmo, ye are needed elsewhere, in this armor I'd be clunking around like drunken orc in a brothel"
to Leon: "Take the box lad, and be careful, look out for old Elmo there and make sure he doesn't go taking things that may not belong to him. Ye know the laws here from what we have seen eh?"
Lord Holderhek - "Then it's decided. Elmo, Leon and Rowland will accompany our agents to meet Themberchaud the Wyrmsmith. And for our most entertaining distraction, Gremryl representing Adbar, Sirak representing Mantol-Derith, Ghuldur representing Gracklstugh and Morista representing Gauntlgrym. Our first annual Underdark Brewery Tour Contest will commence two days from now! Until then, you are welcome here and cautioned to roam elsewhere without a Duergar to guide you." Looking at Hemeth for words.
Hemeth Holderhek - "Should you have need for something in the city, let myself or one of our attendings know so that we may arrange proper escort for you."
Lord Holderhek - "Once we've secured Themberchaud's support, and the contest is over, our representatives from the Underdark will return to their homes. This is when our adventurers will make their exit from the city. Rowland will guide you to Blingdenstone where Dormo will have prepared your route to the surface."
Dormo Diggermattock nods his head in acknowledgement as he looks around the room at each of the adventurers.
Lord Holderhek - "By then, we'll have sent the call to help for raising an opposition to these Demon Lords and perhaps we'll have learned some information on how best to drive them back to their own plane. Any questions?" A pause for questions...
Mikey says: "I haven't had a chance to scope out the town yet. Can I get an escort so we avoid any misunderstandings? I'd hate to have to brain any of you short dudes."
